Is that what that texture is supposed to emulate? I thought it was just rough texture to cut up ankles. Plus, the cushions transition from a square type couch cushion to a pillow style cushion.
Itās fucking hilarious. Amazing how much fun. Someone needs to make a book, and soon, before it gets too good! A fucked up Ai āWhereās Waldoā. The faucet had me in hysterics. I love it. We need a new subreddit, at least. Please!
Thatās funny, I was literally going through all these cement/mosaic/brick floors thinking about how in the hell are you going to clean that. My 2 year old spilled orange juice on our fireplace and now we have a forever orange splotch on the bricks.
I'm 40 and not in the best health, so I'm more worried about tripping - stone floors can look nice, but they are forgiving of neither strains nor falls.
Honestly I just glanced at first and didn't realise at all except for "magazine mediterranean" maybe. But now those green doors in the bedroom *bug me*.
I always zoom in on plants to check them out, and I honestly thought I was losing my mind! Something didn't look right with a bunch of them, then when I started to really look at details it really creeped me out. This is sorta what I imagine it looks like when people are in a coma and they dream they're living their actual life, until they all of a sudden notice something doesn't look right. And the more they look, the more off everything seems. I freaked myself out for a second there lol
[https://www.reddit.com/r/Glitch\_in\_the\_Matrix/comments/30t9kd/repost\_a\_parallel\_life\_awoken\_by\_a\_lamp/](https://www.reddit.com/r/Glitch_in_the_Matrix/comments/30t9kd/repost_a_parallel_life_awoken_by_a_lamp/)
I'm pretty sure this is the lamp
I get uncomfortable looking at the ones where the people arenāt right & I couldnāt understand that feeling but your coma comment made me realize itās an uncanny valley effect!
Itās too lush for Santa Fe- a desert climate. But it is very Santa Barbara/Monticeto, California. There are some lovey adobe/stucco homes there. This very much has that feel.
After scrolling though many comments and looking at these pictures for a good 10 minutes, I think the magnificent foyer entry rug is the best feature. It really pulls the room together.
I'm the first picture, the stair rail disappears into a weird spot. Second picture, the concrete bench has fringe. Third picture has an impossible door. The faucet makes no sense in picture 4. The last picture has a strange ceiling artifact in the top right corner.
Not sure but the small size of that rug in the first photo is kinda hilarious
Edit: my guess is botanical bohemian but Iām just putting words together
Itās the little details that donāt make any sense. Like the second to last photo. Is the toiletā¦..outside?? Whatās up with all the rattan footrests on the couch? And the crooked/bent door.. and the tiny ass rug in the entryway? lol! Tbf I wouldnāt look closely if someone didnāt say it was AI, so itās easy to miss at a passing glance
Edit: the toilet is not outside, looked like it for a sec. But where is it then? And why would it be so far away from the sink
This actually helped so much thank you! The bendy door really threw it off and youāre right about the rattan footstools. I didnāt even realize it was Ai until I read the comments and I feel like Iām falling prey to this shit as a millennial š
There's also like...a texture? It's hard to describe. But I caught on as soon as I saw the second image, before I could inspect any details at all, because it has this specific sort of hazy, velvety "filter" to it that many AI images of interiors have. (This also helps wonky details stand out less.) Idk if you're familiar with Chris Van Allsburg's illustrations, but it's almost like his style (I'm so sorry Mr. Allsburg I love your work) but with a weird, kind of contorted handling of detail and a lot of extra visual clutter. And an HGTV producer's idea of "warmth."
Edit: interestingly, this textural quality sort of breaks down once the outdoors comes into play. If you zoom in on any of the views to the outside, they're very pixelated and the integrity of distinct things like branches kind of collapses. That's not what happens when something is out of focus in a photograph.
> because it has this specific sort of hazy, velvety "filter" to it that many AI images of interiors have. (This also helps wonky details stand out less.)
It's the low dynamic range. AI models like Stable Diffusion weren't great at creating contrasting areas of light and dark until recent fixes, so everything looks washed out and bland.
It's only going to get more convincing, too.
It sounds lame but if you play around with it and make your own images from time to time you'll become a lot better on picking up the AI flavor, and you'll start to recognize it petty quick.
Until the next leap forward anyway.
For me, itās the way light hits objects inconsistently. The light source will be, say, coming from the upper left. And then thereās a few objects that are lit from the front, oddly. Itās like a collage of clipped magazine objects. Extremely subtle, but you will start to see it with practice. Until the AI gets even better.
The floor in the bedroom looks like mist/mold.
Thereās a random plant coming out of the wall by the tub.
The doors are impossible to close
What is going on with the bathtub faucet?
You're not alone
Honestly thank fuck it's AI, I felt like something was off and I couldn't figure out why. Thought I was gonna have an aneurism or something lol
I had no clue either until reading the comments but looking close a few things throw me off. The last picture in the bedroom, zoom in to the top right hand corner, the wooden ceiling has some sort of blurry thing there. Then the third picture, the floor tiles are square near the door but at the side of the bed theyāre more like brick shaped and thereās just something weird about the potted plants outside.
Thought I saw a floor drain in the bedroom photo zoomed in, looks like jenky tiles but itās just wrong. Thatās where I started to really look. And then a bunch of stuff pops out.
Yeah, even in the first picture, the plant in front of the stairs is not only placed in a spot that makes zero sense, the leaves are clipping through the bannister.
The second to last photo also seems to have sunlight coming from two directions. According to the door shadow, it is shining right in the door, making a perfectly straight shadow out from the doorframe. But the windows to the right also seem to have sunlight shining into them from the right, creating direct sunlight in a spot which would not have it if the sun were shining right in the door.
Zoom in on the details and ask yourself if it actually makes sense. On the first image for example, look at the underside of the stairs, theyāre all wonky and uneven. And where is the railing going? Why is there a tiny mat in the middle of the room? Etc.
Genuinely donāt see anything wrong with the mats but I do see a weird blob with the stairs. I can always tell if itās AI with people but for some reason interiors just get me š
I like to look for nonsense objects. Try zooming in and it may be more apparent. See the random ā¦ loudspeaker? On the first photo, right corner of the white wall? The lights that arenāt hanging on anything but have little hangers.
Someone posted a how to somewhere and now it's like a game to me to find weird stuff!
A couple things to look for:
āŖļøshadows--do they make sense
āŖļøLight fixtures in random spots
āŖļøstaircases that don't go anywhere/finish abruptly
āŖļøplacement/orientation/amount make little sense once you really look at things
For images with people:
āŖļøAPENDAGES (arms, hands, legs, FINGERS) its crazy what sone of them look like--extras, not enough, ect
I forget what else was mentioned, but these are a good starting point
In that first pic, that is NOT what a staircase should look like. And where is that light coming from in the top of the vestibule (which is also wtf). Doesnāt make sense at all
1st image has a small flower pot randomly nailed to the wall top left š
2nd image has a pot with a stick that turns into a towel holder?
It's actually fun to find the BS.
Its not even the details. I instantly knew because the vibe is just a certain way. Once youve looked at enough AI images, it just feels off.
Its just too perfect in a way. Too polished.
To get started you can try to discern https://www.whichfaceisreal.com/
Iām getting definite Mediterranean vibes in there! And Spanish, Moroccan, and even some South American tropical lol. Even if itās ai generated itās a really pretty blend
Thank you for saying this. I was looking at these pictures and was like āitās kind of pretty, but something isnāt rightā and it made me feel unsettled until I read your comment.
They are really pretty pictures and I can see taking decorating inspiration from them, but you wouldnāt be able to find the same tiles or furniture for example in real world.
Iām getting better at spotting the AI stuff. At first glance most of them are convincing until you look closely at the details and inconsistencies.
I use AI a lot as a hobby and I think thatās how it should be used, as inspiration or for making impossible images or unique ideas for fun. It bothers me when people think AI images are real. Itās okay to use it as any other tool, but itās getting really good to the point where I canāt always tell.
AI isnāt good at understanding function, which is why in a lot of these AI interior decor pics some of the objects donāt make sense, like multiple ovens, or chair legs, or knick knacks that are placed or just look weird. Itās not always something youād notice right away, but sometimes if you take a second to look it can be apparent.
This is kind of fascinating to me. I thought that i would be surely fooled by AI pictures all of the time, but i can usually identify one within seconds at this point. If you just look at enough of them, you will find common inconsistencies and artifacts that immediately out those pictures as AI.
But there could come a point in the future at which that is not possible anymore, which is a frightening thought. It doesn't help that Facebook users especially are already fooled by obvious AI pictures.
As much as I personally don't mind looking at some AI generated stuff because it can spark some creativity for me, the tiny little useless rug in the first photo really made me giggle.
Damn, it's getting really good, but now that you point it out there are definite tells. The last photo has doors with arches at the top that don't have anywhere to go when the door is closed.
I hate AI images so much. So, so much. I get so excited about a home accessory on Pinterest just to find out itās not even real š¤£. Someone recommended specifying only search results before 2020 to avoid getting AI images, and I think Iām going to have to start doing that.
Please be careful endorsing AI images.. Iām not sure of the first one but the second one is definitely AI. Look at how messed up are the windows decorations. Pinterest is full of them and I canāt find good photography anymore as easily as before :(
Edit: Iām an idiot I saw just the first two, I was about to sleep.. now I woke up and looked at them better and wow heyāre all fucked up
Itās so annoying how thatās all I see on Pinterest now. I usually use Pinterest to get inspo images for sims builds or moodboard pictures for designs for school work and now all I find on there is just endless AI generated stuff. I really donāt know why it bothers me so much but thereās just something so off putting about it
Thank you to everyone who let me know this is Ai. I got these pictures off Pinterest and didnāt think much of it or the source.
If possible, Iād still like to know what keywords I can look out for to get items that match this lovely vibe.
The thing with AI is that it depends on verbal prompts, and those prompts are probably a mish-mash of keywords, like "tropical hacienda/ Balinese / Spanish coastal interior/ Spanish revival/ Moroccan / boho hacienda". Looking up tropical hacienda interior and Spanish coastal interior on google gave similar results to your OP photos, as does tropical Mediterranean to an extent. Also "rustic" and the other keywords that other comments have mentioned.
Nothing wrong with using AI as a tool, it can give some really interesting design ideas. The trick is finding out the keywords.
Here's an AI post that has a similar feel to yours.
https://homedesigns.ai/go/the-roots-of-tropical-hacienda-home-decor/
And definitely look up "Rainn Wilson boho hacienda" for a real example.
**Some ideas for search terms:**
- The color of the doors and accent wall is *kelly green* so you could try including that as part of your search terms
- Maybe try mixing up some combo of *Greek island*, *mediterranean*, *Spanish coastal*, *Spanish colonial*, *Moroccan*, *rustic*, *boho*? (Note: āGreek islandā will skew more toward pops of blue as opposed to green.)
- In terms of materials, I see *rattan*, *textured*, *jute*, *kilim rug*, *muslin throw*, and *off-white linen* being potentially helpful search terms
**Some ideas for process:**
***Pinterest:***
A simple way to unveil product recommendations is to use Pinterest!! š Here is a great video that outlines how to do this: [PRO SECRETS! How to Source Furniture + Home Decor from an Image (Pinterest Hack!)](https://youtu.be/jbD585DtnMg?si=9hBlgowfapYfT42A)
***Google Lens:***
You can also do something similar in the Google app using the āShop for products in your screenshotsā function! Hereās an instructional video: [Shop Your Screenshots on Google](https://youtu.be/6tKMZOHgPVU?si=LMpskT45wmTd-kfv). There are also some other ways to accomplish this: [How to Search an Image on Google (Desktop and Mobile)](https://youtu.be/0Ry33KSU13g?si=_baMjp-hj_nSzRdM).
Another, slightly more involved option is to search Google for posts/images that link to interior design articles that include product recs or additional inspo pics using the reference images in your post. To do this using the app, click on the Google Lens icon to the right of the search bar, select the desired image from your camera roll, clicked āAdd to your search,ā and enter the search terms.
When I tested this out with the second image you provided, I paired it with the search term āliving room ideas.ā These were the first 3 hits:
1. [49 Modern Boho Living Room Ideas For A Cozy & Laid Back Space](https://edwardgeorgelondon.com/blogs/home-garden/modern-boho-living-room-ideas-for-a-cozy-laid-back-space)
2. [40 Boho Living Room Ideas To Create a Dreamy Oasis](https://www.hello-hayley.com/boho-living-room-ideas/)
3. [27+ Boho Living Room Ideas for a Cozy Casual Home (2024)](https://www.vivandtimhome.com/boho-living-room/)
Youāll see that the first two hits offer more design suggestions, whereas the 3rd one offers a bevy of product recs.
Since pic 2 is somewhat more monochromatic, I was curious to see if more color would pop up if I used pic 1 with the search term āliving room ideasā. The first few hits were not of use, but the 6th hit struck me as helpful: [Move Over, MinimalismāThese 21 Boho Living Rooms Are Bursting With Color](https://www.mydomaine.com/bohemian-living-rooms). While this article doesnāt have product recs, it does have some interesting tips and images.
I would repeat this process for other spaces, like entryway, bedroom, bathroom, etc. with the reference images you already have and any other images I found along the way.
I hope these suggestions help you! Wishing you the best of luck in translating your vision into reality. š
I think the question I would ask you is what you like about them. Because you say it's about the decorating style and not the architecture of the homes but the architecture IS what lends a lot of style to these rooms. Without it not a lot would be left and the feel of the rooms would be completely different.
The ādecorating styleā is consistent with the architecture. If you are looking for inspiration, try searching for Mexicali. What the AI produced for the pics posted is a traditional Mexican-style home, but with more of a contemporary California aesthetic.
Fuck dude I'm so fucking sick of AI. It's ruining everything. All these photos are fake and people are developing styles and aspiring to things that are literally fucking fake. I wish we could ban all these images from this sub
Same. Every fucking day there's a post in here asking "what style is this?" and it's ***always*** some fantastical AI garbage like this.
They should be banned 1000%
This style is callled. No Cleaning. How you supposed to run the vacuum cleaner around and clean and wipe cement corners š¤£ itās got to be dusty in there.
Itās love at first sight. OMG. I like this a lot itās so open and airy as well. The green I donāt even know I could like green like this. And the plants really add to it. Wow.
Mediterranean boho ai
Lmao the random succulent sticking out the wall above the bathtub sent me
That bathtub faucet is almost an abstract sculpture.
Is that a toilet outside?
Imagine the snake you might find when going out for a wee!
The spiders at night...
I zoomed in, it looks like the corner of a ledge to me.
Must be for hanging your poop knife!
The plumbing must be a nightmare
Biblically accurate faucet looking nonsense right there
I wonder why AI cannot make bathtub faucets. š¤·āāļø
Same kind I have on my old claw foot tub.
I enjoyed the impossible-to-ever-close doors in the last pic.
And whatever the hell is happening with the door in the bedroom with the green wall. It appears to be bent and not on any hinges.
the couch in the second pic looks so uncomfortableššš literally just concrete slabsš¤£
I love how halfway through the concrete slabs suddenly gain cushions
And fringe at the bottom.
Is that what that texture is supposed to emulate? I thought it was just rough texture to cut up ankles. Plus, the cushions transition from a square type couch cushion to a pillow style cushion.
People go nuts for slabs. Slab this, slab that
Cement chic
I like the megaphone in the corner in the first one lolol
I think that's supposed to be a very small fan
The devil is in the details in these new AI generated posts
I do fucking love them as a sort of 'find the oddity' puzzle.
Itās fucking hilarious. Amazing how much fun. Someone needs to make a book, and soon, before it gets too good! A fucked up Ai āWhereās Waldoā. The faucet had me in hysterics. I love it. We need a new subreddit, at least. Please!
r/AItried Just made it. Not sure what to do now.
That subreddit name is perfection.
Thatās awesome. Iām sure it will catch on!
I keep finding new things wrong with each image, and it is fun!
Not to mention that the faucet seems to spray up instead of down.
How did no one mention the cobblestone in the bedroom, \#5? That'd be almost as uncomfortable to walk on barefoot as making a floor with lego bricks.
I didnāt even notice that. WTH is that even supposed to be? Why is it there? Lmao
A flayed wall dildo, very popular in italian bath culture
Also, no sensible person over 30 is going to have these extremely hard to clean uneven floors.
I just turned 31 and yes.
Itās the tiny rug in the entry hall/ first photo for me. Is it a misplaced welcome mat or a REALLY tiny oriental rug?!?
Itās terrifying. And is that the toilet outside?
Taking us back to Stone Age when pooping in nature generated the ultimate catharsis
Iām mad I didnāt notice. Also wth is that cubby thing over the archway walkthrough?? It has its own sort of wall decor inside it.
My favorite were the wicker throw pillows
I think outside shitter is really the centerpiece of that room
It's the tiny mat in the first picture for me š¤£š¤£
How about across the room with the not quite sink or toilet? Maybe a porcelain table with a lower toilet side profile?
Honestly I just glanced at first and didn't realise at all except for "magazine mediterranean" maybe. But now those green doors in the bedroom *bug me*.
The roof inside in the first photo can bug you too now
So many objects that are somehow flat but pretending to have depth.
What bugs me is the size of the hat on the wall in the bedroom lol the thingās massive!
I always zoom in on plants to check them out, and I honestly thought I was losing my mind! Something didn't look right with a bunch of them, then when I started to really look at details it really creeped me out. Its that fucking lamp
I'd forgotten what object it was and yes! It was the lamp! Weirdly I feel even more creeped out now. Maybe we're all in the same dream.
WAKE UP
I'M TRYING
Which lamp are you referring to? They all look normal to me. I must be missing something.

I get uncomfortable looking at the ones where the people arenāt right & I couldnāt understand that feeling but your coma comment made me realize itās an uncanny valley effect!
Tuscan for people whoāve never seen Tuscany
Iād be pissed to live with that last bedroom floor, stubbing my toe trying to go to the bathroom in the night. Wtf
In the night? Iād do it in the dayš¤£š¤£
AI is getting wild. š
I was going to say Neo Moroccan or Etsy Sante Fe, ha
Etsy Santa Fe. That's brilliant. I'll be appropriating that description.
Itās too lush for Santa Fe- a desert climate. But it is very Santa Barbara/Monticeto, California. There are some lovey adobe/stucco homes there. This very much has that feel.
Want to upvote mooore ha!
Honestly those 3 words came to mind and hello top comment š¤£
I really like the 2nd floor ledge with no access except two massive doors that presumably lead to a 12 foot drop
I was gonna say Mediterranean Plant Mom
Are you telling me that the grand entry rug is.... fake? It made such a statement!
i didn't even notice it at first lmao š
After scrolling though many comments and looking at these pictures for a good 10 minutes, I think the magnificent foyer entry rug is the best feature. It really pulls the room together.
Iām so bad at this. I was like man this place is incredible! Then someone mentioned the bathtub succulent. Iām an idiot.
I'm the first picture, the stair rail disappears into a weird spot. Second picture, the concrete bench has fringe. Third picture has an impossible door. The faucet makes no sense in picture 4. The last picture has a strange ceiling artifact in the top right corner.
Same. I was all into the arched shapes and the beautiful palette. Never noticed anything wrong until I read comments. Iām very unobservant I guess.
Not sure but the small size of that rug in the first photo is kinda hilarious Edit: my guess is botanical bohemian but Iām just putting words together
I love how the tiny AI rug is just plopped in a random spot of the floor
āScatter rugā lol
Haha I didnāt even notice it until I read this comment , thatās hilarious
Same lol
It gives āI bought this rug online and didnāt check the dimensionsā
Isnāt that supposed to be a doormat?
Doormat that slid to the middle of the room because it was tired of people stomping on the little guy.
The rug covers the grate in the floor used while cleaning along a high powered hose and elephant sized scrubbing brush.
So would not one put an appropriate sized rug in the space?
Thanks for pointing that out, made me giggle lmao š
Do NOT step on that rug!
I want to believe it hides a small cute trapdoor.Ā
Encanto

stair railing is a ded giveaway
As much as I personally don't mind looking at some AI generated stuff because it can spark some creativity for me, the tiny little useless rug in the first photo really made me giggle.
š¤£ OH that's something special right there! Hotel California stairs

Pinterest is full of them and I canāt find good photography anymore as easily as before :( Edit: Iām an idiot I saw just the first two, I was about to sleep.. now I woke up and looked at them better and wow heyāre all fucked up
The rug in the first one is what gave it away for me. What is that, a rug for ANTS?
The bathtub faucet š¬
First too
Itās so annoying how thatās all I see on Pinterest now.
Here's an AI post that has a similar feel to yours. https://homedesigns.ai/go/the-roots-of-tropical-hacienda-home-decor/ And definitely look up "Rainn Wilson boho hacienda" for a real example.
Cortijo, hacienda mediterranea
**Some ideas for search terms:** - The color of the doors and accent wall is *kelly green* so you could try including that as part of your search terms - Maybe try mixing up some combo of *Greek island*, *mediterranean*, *Spanish coastal*, *Spanish colonial*, *Moroccan*, *rustic*, *boho*? (Note: āGreek islandā will skew more toward pops of blue as opposed to green.) - In terms of materials, I see *rattan*, *textured*, *jute*, *kilim rug*, *muslin throw*, and *off-white linen* being potentially helpful search terms **Some ideas for process:** ***Pinterest:*** A simple way to unveil product recommendations is to use Pinterest!! š Here is a great video that outlines how to do this: [PRO SECRETS! How to Source Furniture + Home Decor from an Image (Pinterest Hack!)](https://youtu.be/jbD585DtnMg?si=9hBlgowfapYfT42A) ***Google Lens:*** You can also do something similar in the Google app using the āShop for products in your screenshotsā function! When I tested this out with the second image you provided, I paired it with the search term āliving room ideas.ā These were the first 3 hits: 1. [49 Modern Boho Living Room Ideas For A Cozy & Laid Back Space](https://edwardgeorgelondon.com/blogs/home-garden/modern-boho-living-room-ideas-for-a-cozy-laid-back-space) 2. [40 Boho Living Room Ideas To Create a Dreamy Oasis](https://www.hello-hayley.com/boho-living-room-ideas/) 3. [27+ Boho Living Room Ideas for a Cozy Casual Home (2024)](https://www.vivandtimhome.com/boho-living-room/) Youāll see that the first two hits offer more design suggestions, whereas the 3rd one offers a bevy of product recs.
It's like a Spanish Colonial style. Some people call it a "Hacienda style".
The ādecorating styleā is consistent with the architecture. If you are looking for inspiration, try searching for Mexicali. What the AI produced for the pics posted is a traditional Mexican-style home, but with more of a contemporary California aesthetic.
Colombian drug lord
I love the outside toilet on pic 4. Bet a storm scares the crap out of you.
FYI, this is an AI generated image.
For decorating purposes just look at Mediterranean style rooms and replace all the blue with green, then go ham with some plants.
My grandma's house in Greece, but green instead of blue lmao
Fuck dude I'm so fucking sick of AI. It's ruining everything. All these photos are fake and people are developing styles and aspiring to things that are literally fucking fake. I wish we could ban all these images from this sub
Same. Every fucking day there's a post in here asking "what style is this?" and it's ***always*** some fantastical AI garbage like this. They should be banned 1000%
Hacienda Itās beautiful mostly because of that view of the mountains. It reminds me of Colombia
Spanish colonial interior design. This style of homes you can find all over Latin America.
Itās has some Moroccan feelings to me - look up The Korakia hotel for more interiors and pottery like this
I guess you could ask what they used for the prompt š¤·š»
āI Really Like to Dustā
The floors look so painful to walk on
It also looks like it's impossible to clean, all those plaster swirls look like they gather dust and spiderwebs in a day.

That bathroom screams broken toe(s).

Wow.
