SLF we’re just identified in my area and I’m wondering if when the numbers increase, they will be a control for the ToH in my area bc there are so many of them.
They were rampant last year in my area, this year they seem to be less and less and the predatory animals, birds and bugs seem to be catching onto the fact that they’re edible to them, which is amazing.
I was under the impression that SLF does not tend to kill trees on its own, it usually only pushes already-stressed trees over the edge. Is this not the case for TOH?
they wont. slf aren’t necessarily killers of healthy trees, and ToH is a very very hardy tree. in general slf wouldn’t be THAT bad as far as invasives go if they didn’t target specifically grapevined

Great news!!!
My concern is that if they are now eating the lantern fly, our mosquito, tick, etc populations will increase?

Tree of heaven is basically impossible to kill without using herbicides anyway
