You have chosen well but… There is the unknown about her job requirements. As an independent realtor probably no issues. As a realtor in a company with multiple realtors there may be some Windows requirement. If she currently uses a Mac for work or at home, probably no issues if she uses the Mac for work. I assume she currently uses a laptop, if so just ask her what others use in her office. I have a M1 iPad Air with Magic Keyboard and pencil. I use it more than my laptop. Then again I am retired, no J.O.B.

If, and in MHO only if, she already has a recent Mac, laptop or iMac, an iPad Air would be my suggestion. I suspect this would be for her to carry with her when she shows a property so size and weight are MAJOR concerns. If she'll need web access while showing a property then she'll need either an iPad with cell data ability or a phone (iPhone) that can act as an access point. I don't think and iPad would suffice as her only "computer" though. She needs a home or office computer to do the "heavy lifting" (e.g. acquiring documents, generating documents, document conversion, ...).

Thanks for you opinion guys.. we do have a PC at home to where she edit some documents when she needed. but most of the time I saw her doing communications, online meetings, and note taking on her phone and i find it very hard for her .. I guess she'll have her suprise, I'll tag a apple watch too. A happy wife is a happy life.. :)

Great BDay gift for her! This is coming from a Realtor - I would be lost with out my iPad Pro 12.9 2TB with Apple Pencil & Magic Keyboard - this is my workhorse - I would strongly suggest she get these 2 apps immediately and learn to use them - GoodNotes~awesome for note taking and GoodReader~amazing for editing/creating pdfs. They have transformed how I work and keep me organized. I can have clients fill out forms sign offers all done on the iPad, then you can email or save the final doc as needed. There are only a couple of websites I rarely use that are best on a Mac or pc - I have a Mac & most brokerage offices have a PC you can use anytime. As for heavy lifting - I use the iPad Pro for 99% of my business, there are some tricks to making life easier with iPad - the most frequently used for me is using the print function to turn anything into a pdf - anything I can print I can pdf - again used for adding approval letters, documents etc to offers or just the file I have for each deal. I also do some photography using Lightroom/Aperture and a few other processing apps. As for on the road I just link the ipad to my iphone for cellular if needed - honestly it is not that frequent as I download MLS sheets and docs per property on WiFi prior to showings so I am fully prepared to put together any contracts on the fly. Last in terms of travel, the Magic Keyboard adds weight - so if I need to lighten the load I just use the Smart Folio cover, I do like it on showings as the cover folds all the way back and it protects the back when taking notes, having clients sign docs. She can also order skins for the covers and put her info, logo etc… adds a professional look and there s no mistaking it for her iPad. Went with maximum storage as I do a lot with RAW photos and they take up a ton of room. She may not need that much storage. Also have 80G of music on it and many apps for fun. I am sure she will appreciate which ever you get her & hope this helps!

Thanks u/ddbxlady, It really pains me to see her just using her phone all day, it feels like limiting her. btw, should I get the Pro or the just the Ipad with max storage will do?

I think it will depend on how much you think she would use it for other things - ie photography apps and working with RAW images takes more space and power. GoodNotes and GoodReader will both also use a fair amount of space. It is always a good idea to keep past files, as clients call you back to sell the house or have a question etc…so having it available for quick look up is very handy. If she just does her work and things like Netflix etc… then the regular should be fine but I would go for extra storage. I went top of the line bc I do not replace my iPad every update cycle so I need it good for at least 4 or 5 years try to future proof. Also if coming from just the phone she may not need the 12.9 - I prefer it bc I can use 2 apps side by side and still be able to read the docs and I prefer writing on what feels more like a regular piece of paper in portrait mode. A lot of folks like the 10.9 for portability (for me screen space is more important, and weight difference is not much & is far less than a laptop) Hope she will love whichever one you get her!

Do you like the 12.9 or wish you had the smaller version? I’m debating on size to purchase .

I am very happy with 12.9 it is great for me as I frequently need to take notes and work with pdf docs and the space makes it easier to work. It is also great for photo editing and video watching.
