ouch, personally don’t think it’s a mistake buying on eBay due to the guarantee it comes with when dealing with a faulty product. there’s plenty of reliable sellers out there
First have apple devices app on windows computer or use finder on a newer Mac. After making sure you have that first, plug in the iPad to the computer. Press and LET GO of the buttons volume up, volume down, then hold power button. Do that very fast. And keep holding the power button till you see a small computer on the iPad. Don't let go of the power button at all until your real computer shows it detects the iPad. After that follow the steps on the computer and the software should start downloading. If your iPad doesn't turn off and on when doing the button combo you're doing it wrong. Call support it's free
Anytime! After searching around the internet, most people said this happens after they updated, which is very strang... Anyhow, we did remove the old os and replaced it with a fresh copy, so we eliminated software being the problem. if it does happen again after reinstalling the os, it may be some type of hardware failure either from the displays chip or the gpu inside the processor on the motherboard itself. In that case, def take it to an apple store and see if you can get a repair. Please let us know even if it's 6 months down the line. The customer said it never came back on my feedback, but I never talked to her again, so I truly don't know
buying shit off ebay is not a "mistake" as long as your smart about it.. I have bought thousands of dollars worth of tech there and never encountered any issues
Ask the seller for a refund. Hopefully they will do that or send a replacement. I had to do that back when I got my first Mini 3. Seller shipped me a new one after I returned the messed up one. Good luck!
I’d get a refund, regardless if it “appears” to be ok now, it could come back. If it’s an issue with the gpu on the logic board, it probably will. A good way to have determined if it was the logic board was to take a screenshot and open the screenshot on another computer. If the anomaly is in the screenshot then it’s the logic board, if it isn’t it’s the display panel.
It needs a display which costs over $230 for the cheapest quality replacement display not counting labor to install. You’re best to get a refund or return it and find a different one.

File for refund from eBay.
Don’t I have to wait 3 days before I can do that?
No you should be able to as soon as you get it
Refund

I had a customer call and her ipad looked just like this but the whole left side had this weird problem. We restored it and it went away
How did you restore it?

Thank you I did this and I haven’t seen indicators of it lagging out. I just hope it stays like this

So did the above instructions work and fix the issue?
Ebay has buyer protection for this very reason, dont stress contact ebay and they will sort this out for you.

never buy used electronics off eBay
Now that’s devious
Be sure to check whether if the condition was listed as “For parts or Not Working” cause that might affect your recourse.
Does eBay still make it difficult for the customer in a case like this?
Ask eBay to step in if you don’t get a full refund. Don’t forget to do it when the deadlines are set

I wouldn’t used backmarket… but eBay’s return policy is fire
Looks like someone dropped it during transit. Or you got scammed. Refund time

See if it has Apple care… if so get it repaired and u have a new one… can’t remember the fee but it’s less then 100$
How do I check for that?
Checkcoverage.apple.com for warranty status. If under warranty with acp it’s a $49 deductible to repair/replace
With your serial #.. just Google good Apple warranty check.. if it has Apple care+ they can fix it for a low price at Apple
Why even bother! eBay will give you a full refund. Why would you take any time or money. Let the seller worry. Might of happened in shipping
I hate when people go straight to the “i got scammed” shit. shit happens. it’s ebay. file a refund
