We MI fans are used to being at the receiving end of these kind of allegations for so long and these allegations get a lot more attention if they are against mumbai indians . Firstly This issue is about incompetent umpiring and nothing else
Even during the Steve Smith review I think even before Virat complained , Nigel Long was there at the scene to discard that review. He did not allow Smith to take the review. In this case it is possible that the umpire might have missed this review call from the dugout but when the opposition captain comes to you and complains about it you need to cancel the review and not allow the batsman to take it.
The umpiring has been substandard throughout the tournament the decision seem very arbitrary and taken as per the mood of the umpire rather than following one standard protocol. We need to have specialist umpires who are able to use the space between their ears and stop such reviews.
Secondly this incident is not dramatic to be labelled as "DISGRACE OF IPL" we have had captains and Coaches walking on to the field to argue with the umpire calls and have gotten away with just a slap on the wrist and nothing else.
Yesterday's umpiring did felt way worse than ever before tbh ( not following IPL since 2021 , just watched MI vs DC , CSK and yesterday , this season ) also the impact player rule feels stupid to me

Did Tim David and Boucher see the reply of that delivery and then signalled SKY to go for the review? if not then I don't see a big problem here. Tim David was outside the boundary line and so was Boucher. We have seen videos of Dhoni and Pant getting away after literally walking onto the field and making arguments in the middle of the match which I believe were far more serious acts. We MI fans are used to being at the receiving end of these kind of allegations for so long and these allegations get a lot more attention if they are against mumbai indians . Apparently, even someone like Faf believes that the toss between MI and RCB match was rigged despite a clear look at that video shows otherwise so I can imagine how an average fan might think.
Firstly This issue is about incompetent umpiring and nothing else Even during the Steve Smith review I think even before Virat complained , Nigel Long was there at the scene to discard that review. He did not allow Smith to take the review. In this case it is possible that the umpire might have missed this review call from the dugout but when the opposition captain comes to you and complains about it you need to cancel the review and not allow the batsman to take it. The umpiring has been substandard throughout the tournament the decision seem very arbitrary and taken as per the mood of the umpire rather than following one standard protocol. We need to have specialist umpires who are able to use the space between their ears and stop such reviews. Secondly this incident is not dramatic to be labelled as "DISGRACE OF IPL" we have had captains and Coaches walking on to the field to argue with the umpire calls and have gotten away with just a slap on the wrist and nothing else.

Yesterday's umpiring did felt way worse than ever before tbh ( not following IPL since 2021 , just watched MI vs DC , CSK and yesterday , this season ) also the impact player rule feels stupid to me

Ohk so... What happened?
The MI dugout asked their batters to take the review after watching the replay on the screen present in their dugout. You can not do that according to the rules. The players on the field have to make the decision without relying on any external input. This is the reason that no replay is showed on tv and on the big screen till the time the DRS counter is valid.
