First Maiden England 2012 at San Antonio, great first concert since it was all hits Best The Future Past 2023 at Calgary, listening the intro of Caught Somewhere in time gave me goosebumps Worst, its not the worst, just my least favorite was Power Trip, the vibes were just strange, i felt like a stranger in a strange land 😜, the people around were not maiden hardcore fans, Maiden sounded great and the setlist is my favorite! Just the people around were very calm lol

First and best were the same show, Somewhere Back In Time 2008. Worst show was Maiden England '88 in 2012, but that was just because my Dad had died the week before and I understandably wasn't as enthusiastic as I'd have normally been. Was still a fantastic concert I still can't believe I've seen Phantom Of The Opera performed live.

First : Somewhere on Tour 1987 Best : Ed Hunter 1999. Amazing setlist and Maiden is BACK. Worst : Brave New World Tour. Outdoor venue with 115 degree Texas heat.

1. First concert: 2011 during the Final Frontier tour, saw them in Gothenburg at Ullevi. First and only time I had a seat ticket, but it was amazing seeing them for the very first time! 2. Best concert: 2018 in Tallinn during the premiere of the Legacy tour. We had no idea what songs they were gonna play, it was the best concert I've ever been to. Especially when the spitfire joined the stage, me and some friends stood really close to the stage! 3. Worst concert: Also in 2018 but at Sweden Rock Festival. Maiden played phenomenal as usual but we were a bit late so we couldn't get close to the stage. The crowd where we stood was absolutely dead and were only waiting for the classics to be played.

First: The X Factor Tour. Got to see Maiden in a small club which was interesting to say the least. Also discovered Fear Factory. Best: Reunion/Ed Hunter Tour. Set list was pretty much perfect. Didn't like the opening bands, but oh well. Worst: None were bad per se, but the least good was probably the Virtual XI tour. A lot of bad juju around that weekend from the Venue to a nightmare of a return trip. Plus they played Angel and the Gambler, so it loses by default. Also saw them on the Brave New World tour, whatever they called the summer tour they did prior to the release of Dance of Death, and Legacy of the Beast. Will of course be seeing the Future Past tour later this year.

stoned_in_my_bones

Give Me Ed Till I'm Dead was the Dance of Death warmup tour, they were actually playing Wildest Dreams on it as a little teaser of sorts for DOD itself

thewickedchild

That's the one. That show is probably my second least favorite, from Maiden anyway. Other than Wildest Dreams, it was all stuff I've heard them play before... And that isn't bad per se, but also not as exciting. It was also incidentally the worst of all the times I saw Dio.

This is easy given I've been to three: First: Book of Souls 2016. My first ever gig (I'd waited until Maiden were on tour to go to my first show), absolutely blew me away. I love TBOS and they played Powerslave, so it was a great night for me Best: Future Past 2023. Incredible setlist, the band sounded fantastic, I loved the cyberpunk stage, Bruce's pipes seemed to be in better shape then they'd been in years. Alexander The Great live? What could be finer (well Rime but y'know) Worst: Legacy Of The Beast 2018. It wasn't a bad show by any means, probably their most incredible stage design in history and a great setlist of classics with modern tracks sprinkled in. Sadly Bruce was clearly struggling with some of the songs, and something about a greatest hits tour just lacks the same va-va-voom of a tour where they're playing new songs or some real deep cuts. One of my favourite gigs ever in the grand scheme but for Maiden, my least favourite show I've been to

So I got screwed twice trying to see my first show, Somewhere in Time tour in Beaumont, TX cancelled due to low ticket sales, then at a baseball tournament outside of Houston, had a ticket for 7th Son and coach wouldn’t let me go. First: No Prayer on the Road w/Anthrax opening. Have never missed a Maiden show that came through Texas ever since. Best: Somewhere Back in Time Tour Worst: A Matter of Life and Death Tour

Sabatonmoshpit

I can’t believe a show was cancelled due to low ticket sale during their prime ? Thats nuts

djwitchfindergeneral

First and worst was Fear Of The Dark tour in NZ. Small venue so hardly any stage props, Davey had a bandaged up knee, Bruce had a cold, and I probably should have worn earplugs so the sound would be clearer. Now don't get me wrong, I was very happy to see my favourite band on their first visit to NZ. But compared to later gigs, it was definitely the least best. Best... something about the Book Of Souls tour really worked. Saw them two nights, not sure I can rank one above the other. Hard to beat the Somewhere Back In Time set lists (I saw both legs of that tour) and I'm not even a big fan of BOS, but somehow I reckon that was the best tour to see them.

bloodpriestt

First: X Factor 1996 Best: AMOLAD tour. So fun to see them play so much new material. Crowd felt it. Worst: somewhere around 2010 in Vegas. Just a bad venue and didn’t feel like a Maiden show to me.

Yellowterminal

1. 1992, Oslo, Norway. 2. 2003, Roskilde, Denmark. Maiden wasn't last out that evning. Felt they tried to prove something. 3. 2014, Berlin, Germany. Worst sounding show ever! This was the Maiden Englang tour. Huge dissapointment.

65wildcat_buick

First: X Factor Tour Best Legacy of the Beast Tour There is no worst: Best Honorable mention: Bruce on the Accident of Birth Tour Will see them for the 3rd time in November

Badgerello

All Melbourne. First and worst, Festival hall, 93. Best, Rod Laver Arena, 2008.

DeeplyFrippy

First: Donington '92 Best: If i'm being honest, that was also Donington '92. Worst: Tough to answer because I've never seen a bad show but maybe a Book Of Souls show would be my least favourite

Capnharris

First: TFF Tampa 2011 Best: TFPT 2023 Ljubljana Worst: Las Vegas 2017. Show itself wasn't bad but it was a hell of a day and I couldn't enjoy the show to the fullest because of it.

Actual-Way-6540

My first was in Ljubljana (Slovenia) 2007. Also the worst Maiden show I've seen live. Band not really in the mood, raining the whole day and couldn't see shit. At least setlist rocked (too bad they stopped playing the whole of AMOLAD at that point). My best is a tie between Split (Croatia) 2008 and Graz 2013 (Austria). It would be Split, but Graz had SSOASS material which is absolutely the best. Zagreb (Croatia) 2018 and Ljubljana 2023 were also pretty awesome.

First: Maiden England 2013, 3rd August, at the O2 Arena in London. (I was 19 years old, on my first international trip alone, on the last day after a month in London, and this concert wasn't even announced when I planned it. I went to Cart & Horses pub to hang out with some fans before the show, had a perfect day, drank my first Trooper Beer at a bar just inside the arena with some other fans who were also desperately looking to find a bottle of the recently released beverage. Everything just made me feel like it was destiny) Best: Maiden England 2013, 20th September, at Arena Anhembi (Sambadrome) in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil. (My second concert, first at home, and this time I was able to watch more closely at the premium floor area, felt the heat of the flames and the Brazilian crowd just made everything more intense. The band responded with the same intensity on stage) Worst: Legacy of the Beast 2022, 4th September at Morumbi Stadium in SĂŁo Paulo, Brazil. (Not a bad concert, but the least exciting. It was the second time at the Legacy of the Beast tour now with a few songs of Senjutsu as openers. The first concert after the pandemic too. It felt like the setlist was a bit off, with the Senjutsu parts not fitting the rest. It felt like they missed an opportunity to play older rarities. It was a downgrade from the original Legacy setlist which opened with Aces High. The plans for Senjtusu and the tour to promote it were certainly affected by the global crisis before it. The crowd that day was not as enthusiastic as in 2019) Thanks for reading if you did.

aaaahitshalloween

First show: death on the road. 2004. Best show: somewhere back in time leg 1. (Reason: rime of the ancient mariner). 2008. Worst show: maiden England. 2013. Bad arena. Lowest volume ever “listened” alive and the setlist didn’t please me that much.

Saul_Gahbidge

First Maiden: Virtual XI 1998 at Roseland Ballroom. “I guess I missed out on Iron Maiden’s heyday. Better than nothing.” Best Maiden: Ed Hunter 1999 at Hammerstein Ballroom. “Holy shit, Iron Maiden is back with Bruce and all three guitar players? In my lifetime? Is this real?” Opening with Aces High, in a mid size venue, what an incredible show. Worst Maiden: also Virtual XI. Every show I saw after that one was better. Bruce can do a few Blaze songs, but it doesn’t work the other way around.

First: No Prayer in 1990 (was gonna see them on the Seventh Son tour, but had to work that night unfortunately). Worst: No Prayer in 1990 - terrible setlist, Janick was sloppy and his antics were silly, Bruce sang without much passion and his rants were moronic. Best: Opening night of ALOLAD tour: other fans were mad but I thought it was amazing when they played the new album start to finish. Honorable mentions: Saw them twice on the BMW tour, including once in Switzerland. Never saw so many 10 year old kids smoking. Was up front for general admission near Adrian and caught one of his sweaty wrist bands (not one that he pulled out of a box to toss out but one that he wore). During the encore I swapped places with a kid behind me so he'd be in front. They were on fire. Bruce's voice was in top form, and their renditions of Sign of the Cross and Clansman were amazing. Somewhere Back in Time tour: Rime, Aces, and Moonchild (with them actually playing the opening). Final Frontier warm up tour: Almost all reunion era songs, including Dance of Death, the highlight of the evening. Maiden England 2013 - Seventh Son! Have been to a bunch of other Maiden shows, but those are the standouts. Recent tours have been less enjoyable because Bruce sounds so strained, but they're still awesome (I'm seeing them twice this fall). Edit: I haven't yet seen the Days of Future Past tour... Others have reported that Bruce sounds better than he did on other recent tours.
