If you claim the rewards at 81 fishing or higher (no idea what level you are) the food is pretty decent if you want to do a big grind and stack up some permits.
If not I’d leave and go enjoy your fish barrel at karambwans
The food is pretty meh. Hard food is nice, but with the addition of dt2 bosses its way less important. Bwans carry through 90% of content and then zulrah + dt2 bosses provide the rest with a lot left over
I did the same thing; saved up 2.1k permits for 81. I have been very slowly working my way through my Bass stack whenever I can get away with lower tier food, and I'll still have my Swordfish stack when that's done, but having ~6k sharks/turtles/mantas for bossing has been convenient.
The reward level is calculated at the end of the game, not when you claim. Different system from wintertodt I believe, you’ll still get lower fish at 81 if you got the rewards at a lower level

You don’t even get anglers outfit from Tempoross though, and the spirit angler is purely cosmetic of anglers, so considering OP is talking about going back to tempoross is irrelevant for anglers, he just needs the tacklebox imo.
I think in a not so distant future, because of Valamore, there will be a niche benefit to having both the tome and (I’m guessing here) upgraded water runes to maximize water damaging spells.

Congrats! I still run tempoross even after green logging it because the xp is decent and I prefer it over 3t-barb and 2t-harpooning.

I was just there for fish barrel, so I opened my permits regularly. I ended up getting the barrel at 83 fishing and kicked myself for not waiting lol

Flakes are giga nice for anglers/sacred eels if you afk much. They take so long to fish so it's still very afk, especially anglers

Imo the only point of tempo on an iron is fishing xp and early food/alchs. None of the drops are really all that great except like the fishing barrel.
