Love Donna, hate the Donna hate. Prior to her tenure in the GD she was an accomplished studio vocalist at Muscle Shoals, backing up some of the greatest vocalists of the 70s on their studio albums. You don’t get an opportunity to be a studio vocalist unless you’re a top vocalist. The Scarlet and Playin’ moaning and groaning are similar to Pink Floyd’s “Great gig in the Sky”.

I’m sure it’s one of those things that just translates better live. As this music is meant to be heard. I love Phish, but I usually skip the YEM vocal jam because it’s just not as enjoyable on replay 🤷🏻‍♂️

Really? Shakedown Street is often a Type 1 jam if we are speaking in Phish terms. It was rare for Shakedown Street to get into Type 2 territory like Tweezer often does.
