Recently got into photography and vintage lenses. Tokyo is a great city for that hobby. There is an abundance of used camera gear and places to wander around with a camera.

I've recently gotten into fountain pens and stationery, and it's doing wonders for my desire to write...which is especially helpful considering all the kanji I have to practice!

I went for a night time bike ride on an old mountain road with a friend. As we climbed a hill, a really large deer popped out of the forest and crossed a few metres ahead of us. That was pretty cool.

KUROGANE-AGAIN

Did you exclaim, Oh, Deer!!!!!!!!!!! PS sorry

i went on an uneventful date. We talked over some food. Said bye. Nothing more.

I met a tourist couple and showed them to one of my 常連 spots that nobody knows about and you can't get into if you don't speak Japanese (or aren't with someone who does). They said it was the most fun they've had in Japan and it made me really happy that I've got to the point where I can actually guide people around and that they had fun

ArtNo636

No. Kinda sad recently. Just working, working, working.

What comes after work?

ArtNo636

Dinner then sleep.

keebler980

Went to Tamba-Sasayama and made a bowl and plates out of clay

Went to a restaurant near home that I’ve never saw anyone get in. The food was not great as expected, but the タコ揚げ was delicious! Want to go back there again just for it.

Finally broke down and went to the allergy doctor yesterday. Had nose camera down both nostrils, allergy test and came home with 6 medications hopefully the last 4 months of low to mid level seasonal allergies are coming to an end.

arika_ex

To the extent you don’t mind sharing, what did the allergy test say? It’s interesting sometimes what those detect.

VR-052

I go back next week for the results. I just did the standard one which covers the basics like cedar, rice plant pollen, a few other of the other major atmospheric allergens plus cats , dogs, and a few foods. They had a whole list of extras they can test for if you pay more for each test but I think it's probably cedar causing most of my problems as we just got back from Mount Aso the week before and my allergies got worse.

I went to Chichibu. They had great local food, beautiful onsen next to the station. it was very cute, and we stayed overnight in a cheap hotel. It was an excellent getaway from Tokyo that only took an hour and 30 mins. The best part is that it wasn't crowded! At all! It's a hidden gem, I think.

arika_ex

Chichibu is but more seasonal I think. It’s most popular around spring for the shibazakura, winter for the night festival and icicles. Though with that said, the town itself mostly isn’t that bad anytime I’ve been there.

Immersive fort tokyo was pretty fun. Felt like you were in a movie/theatre mix the entire time. Would go again! https://immersivefort.com/ Paid to see the Sherlock Holmes show and it was super cool (a bit chaotic/definitely did not follow everything due to multiple things happening at once). I imagine it might be less entertaining if you don’t understand Japanese, since all the dialogues in Japanese.

the-T-in-KUNT

I’ve been wondering about this new thing … did you like it enough to go back?

Relative-Biscotti-94

Yeah Id go back to see one of the other shows about an 花魁 and try out the escape room attraction i didnt get to do this time.

arika_ex

There’s a cool translation device they lend out for Sherlock. Maybe you look Japanese or something if they didn’t offer it to you?

Relative-Biscotti-94

Oh yeah no I heard about it but I’m Japanese(-American), and I’m fluent in Japanese so it wasn’t really about the language barrier. I simply got lost on who to follow + couldnt hear some dialogues due to being at the very back lol
