Having never even felt a Jim green boot in person, this is speculation. I think one advantage in going synthetic is weight. I would imagine going full leather would be a noticeable weight increase on foot. Feel free to step in and correct me if I’m wrong!
Weight is really the only perfectly arguable upside to the synthetic from a consumer standpoint. You could also argue that it's far more consistent whereas leather can be the wrong thickness, have lumps from scarring, and have tanning inconsistencies. Synthetic likely dries faster when it gets soaked, but it will soak through faster.
I love a leather midsole, but I'd say personally if you have ONE pair of boots and often get them wet then it's better to have synthetic because it is lower maintenance and isn't a likely to be damaged by being put on damp from the previous day.
Yeah, that makes sense. I never thought about the added maintenance of a leather mid sole. I do agree that the leather midsole is much heavier than the synthetic.
From what I’ve been told the leather midsole will be a better option for its durability alongside having a stronger water resistance… it won’t soak up as quickly as the poly woven lasting board and midsole. Unsure if this is fully correct though it does sound right.
From what I could tell there isn’t a different apart from the sale? The presale category are already available from South Africa and you can get custom from them too.
I think I would go with the poly lasting board, leather midsole and black resin runner. Everything that water could touch on the outside, I'd want to be leather. The inside wouldn't be too much of a concern. If we are talking about African Rangers, they are quite roomy inside. One could put a thinner (2mm) leather insole and then some padded insole in. Or just a thick leather insole.

in fact the synthetic mid sole feels lumpy and the leather does not. i have both
Which Jim Green boots do you own with synthetic mid-soles?
i have two pairs of ARs. one with synthetic midsole and a custom pair with leather midsole

Jg's video about numzaan vs some other boots did focused on the synthetic vs leather midsole they are savings of like 200 grams maybe a bit less
I believe you are correct.

I'm jealous of how much better the American site is than the SA one
Well, I'm jealous of the lower prices on some of the boots, on the SA site. 😆
By like 50% or more cheaper.

I don’t remember my customer order even having that option.
I'm hoping for a Jim Green Video to explain this
There is one. I watched it. And I forgot what he said. And I don't know what video it was.
I'll try to find it on YouTube. Thanks for the heads-up
It's numzaan vs baobab comparison
Thanks for getting back with this information
That is a stellar idea! I'm all for it!
