You can try using your hand to try and train them to fold in a different spot, but in general if they hurt they're too small. Leather does soften and stretch, but they probably shouldn't hurt.

Go with the 8. You should wear the largest size you’re comfortable in.

TavaHighlander

If you have proper room everywhere, it's simply a matter of breaking them in. You can soften the leather in that area by rolling it back and forth between your fingers and/or insert a table knife handle or rounded hardwood stick and push up and rub it back and forth. Also, apply bear grease.

SuspiciousGarden2728

Yeah I second the grease. Obenaufs works great.

I had that stabbing. I worked the leather with my hand for a bit. Eventually softened up and doesn’t hit my toe anymore. Honestly, proof the ball of my foot was at the flex point.

Thanks for the advice all, gonna keep testing them the next few days, it’s a tough decision lol. On one hand the 7.5s feel like a perfect fitting normal shoe w. A nice toe box but then coming from barefoot shoes for so long the 8s are calling to that ultra wide toe box side of me but feel more clunky 🤦‍♂️. Good problems I guess, thanks again!

I had it too on one side. It went away with use but it was really painful for a week or so.

CaptainAwesome406

I had the same exact problem went with an 8 and have no complaints.

Nordictotem

Yes, i have the same problem but starts to go away now after 4 weeks, it's painful
