There used to be a lot. American culture has changed, people stay in way more than they used to. Prior to streaming services people used to be out constantly to go see movies or at least go rent one for example.
It used to be a regular thing to go see a movie with a couple of friends and then go to a diner and hang out afterwards because what else did we have to do. Now you ask someone to do that and they'd say they just want to stay at home.
I was more implying that there are *way* too many Mexican restaurants and that I'd rather see some of them replaced with Colombian or Peruvian or whatever than just throwing up more places. I know its not all the same. And I *love* Mexican food, I could eat it every day if I wouldn't end up weighing 400 lbs, but it's a bit ridiculous just how many there are. Just for an example, there are *NINE* in Liberty, not including taco bell or any of the places on the KC side of I-35.
Waaaaaaay ahead of you.
Funny, my out of town family own a business and franchises stores. I’ve seriously considered it in the past but 1.) don’t have the start up capital, 2.) don’t have the time, and 3.) don’t think a sandwich shop would succeed in this saturated market.
Was that the joint off Shawnee Mission Parkway just west of 69/Metcalf past the old Steak n Shake? That place was fucking GREAT, but I swear that location must be straight up cursed.
For real a sausage business run as a cart is hard to tank unless you’re a lazy person. For years in chicago an old polish lady would post up outside club neo and cook polish sausages for $5, and the drunk people would get more sober, then drink more and dance until 4 so the club loved it.
The Werner’s on johnson drive in mission is actually fantastic to visit when they’re grilling polish sausages outdoors. It’s something I didn’t know about until this last year and it’s 🤌.
Big D’s Dog Cart used to be pretty hood but I don’t know if he is still around… used to post up outside Lowe’s on 40hwy all the time but haven’t seen him forever
Saturated market? please tell me of these great sandwich shops that are saturating kc. I can only think of a handful. I'm not counting places like pigwich as sandwich shops.
Oh I wouldn’t call them great sandwiches….
Thinking of big names like Subway, Jimmy John’s, Capriotti’s, Jersey Mikes, Potbelly, Firehouse, Jason’s etc…
There are some wonderful smaller joints, don’t get me wrong - M&M, Bay Boy, Giovanni’s, Pigwich, etc…
[https://newks.com/](https://newks.com/)
high-quality sandwich/salad/soup place that was started by the people who founded Macalisters. It's a fantastic restaurant with good prices that I miss having as an option.
Better public transit. Imagine the economic impact of a robust light rail system that could take you from MCI any major point in the KC metro. That'd be fucking amazing.
Hell, just half decent buses is all I ask for. More frequency, better routes, less stops (so they can be faster, 31st is a good example that needs less), and quality bus shelters that are maintained. All too much to ask for apparently
We don’t even really have a bus to the airport, we just have a suburban bus line that runs hourly and just so happens to have the airport as one of its many nonsensical stops.
Light rail is the only thing that makes sense… public transit here can’t just be a KC Proper solution it has to include suburbs to get people in and out of Downtown and to and from the Airport
I think it is weird that german cuisine isn't more common around here with how much of the area has german heritage.
Even if they didn't purposefully immigrate, a bunch of Nazi POW's were kept in camps across the midwest, and some were allowed to integrate after the war.
Historically their used to be ton's of German restaurants across Missouri, especially so in and around St. Louis. However its exactly the reason you hint at, as to why they went away. German American's in WW1 and WW2 tried super hard to prove how American they were and hide their heritage. Their were several cases of lynching's of German's in WW1 in the Midwest and at some level they tried really hard to integrate and remove their "Germanness". Many either changed their names or how they pronounced them to hide it.
Another factor was prohibition. Nothing is more German then Bier halls, and when that occurred basically in line with WW1 it shut down the vast majority of places were those immigrants liked to hangout and make food.
Yeah a good shawarma is a thing of beauty. The Mediterranean market on Westport rd does a great one, and the iraquí chef cooking for those Lawrence gas stations is about to open 3 new locations, one on 39th st in the old da’Bronx building. It’s going to be amazing, their shawarma is the best I’ve had outside of Europe and the Middle East
Moved here from San Diego in 2019. I'd definitely bring the burritos and Cali produce.
Before that, I was stationed at Fort Meade, MD. I'd bring the seafood.
I'm from Alabama. I brought the Tide with me XD
From KC but have lived in San Diego since 2005. Will miss the burritos (particularly the heaven of a fresh tortilla) and tacos...but also glad to be moving back in a few years for the white cheese dip
Ugh, I don't need Wegmans. I don't want to grocery shop in what feels like the warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark after a glow-up. Also, Wegman meat counters are terrible.
To be fair when I visit in laws in upstate New York they live like 2 hours from Wegmans but I always go with them and load up on all the amazing prepared stuff while they do whatever shopping they need to do for family meals. So couldn’t tell you much about its merits as an actual local grocery store. But as a food destination experience it’s top tier for me.
Also I love Raiders of the Lost Arc shopping experience but I consider myself a top man, so might just be me.
Well yes. Buying these bagels though cuts out 96% of the work of making a sandwich though, and would probably be better than anything someone made at home.
I've gotten their breads from Price Chopper, HyVee, and Hen House. I've even gotten their breads directly from them during the farmers maket in OP. I've never been satisfied with their breads though.
Seafood, hands down. And wild Maine blueberries. Maine is a New England staple of unique culinary dishes and I miss them so much. More creative restaurants and soft serve places with more than just chocolate, vanilla and swirl. We are talking 50 flavors of soft serve!
Wegmans. Wawa. Sheetz (let them compete!). Rita's Italian Ice (Miami Ice is acceptable, but not the same). Additional soft pretzel places (KC Pretzel Boys is great - but it's like a 40 min drive for them when we have a craving). Actually looked into a Rita's franchise in 2019, but we're far enough from most of them that they wanted way more money that I could afford. But if I only could pick one, it would be a Wawa / Sheetz type place - somewhere to run in for a breakfast sandwich on the way to the airport, grab a late night hot dog, etc. QT just isn't the same in terms of selection.
I took this differently than a lot of people did, but for me it would be a good base of software engineering companies. We’ve got a couple tech companies here but nobody pays like they do in most other cities the size of KC.
RUNZA. I don’t mind driving to Lawrence every once in a while but seriously…just bring one back to KC. I moved down here and they closed the one in Mission/Shawnee like a month later. Super rude.
True and I’ve had a bierock BUT there’s just something about a hot cheese runza and some HOT and fresh perfectly salted crinkle fries. *chefs kiss*
It could also be because I’m pregnant and I’ve made SEVERAL trips to Lawrence so far. #noshame
Had a bbq this weekend and chopped up way more cabbage than needed for slaw, so I’m making runza/beirocks this week. It’s a process, and I agree, wish I could just go get one instead of making like 5 dozen. (I could make less, but the mess is the same for a big batch vs a small batch and I can freeze them.)
The South Shore Rail Line. When I lived in Chicagoland/NW Indiana, you could take the rail line into downtown Chicago from the Hammond/East Chicago area for less than $15 round trip. It may have gone up since I moved away from there.
Trops!! Yes I couldn’t remember the name.
And KC daiquiri is solid but hours aren’t the best and you have to sit down, I want to walk around the Nelson with my drink lol
Sad to see Sheridan's disappearing from their 3+ JoCo locations, and now there's so many Andy's. Don't why one got traffic/hype and the other had lost it.
Haven't seen it, but a Italian place called Piada. It was basically a Chipotle/Mr. Goodcents version of Italian pasta bowls. Fresh Mozz balls, made in house sauces, and the Pepperoni Piada sticks were far better than you'd expect them to be. They unfortunately do not do franchises otherwise I would have already tried to open one here.
Tucson:
El Guero Canelo - Sonoran tacos and hot dogs.
Eegee's - Tucson staple know for these frozen ice slush things that's very unique that I haven't seen anywhere else. Also the best ranch fries ever.
Not a specific restaurant but Native American Fry Bread with toppings like chili rojo, chili verde, taco, or honey.
I would make it really friendly for companies to have remote work. I am not fully familiar with the laws but I know some states don't have remote options or certain businesses that are remote won't go to MO. I know people in other states that would love to move to MO and keep their same job but if they have an address change it could jeopardize their job.
The sphere as in the atrocity that plays ads nearly 24/7 and has barely discernible screens once you get within three blocks of it?
Cool enough venue but the light pollution is crazy, just for ads too.
Music stores, coming from Wichita which is half the size of KC they had about 5-10 QUALITY music stores in the metro. KC has NOTHING, you have to drive out to Lawrence to get anything decent.
Omg WAY more entertainment and themed restaurants. Way more martini bars and throw up a couple water view restaurants on the Kansas side.
KC is fantastic if you love to attend sports bars and fish, but if you like water views, martinis, dressing up and coffee, it’s severely lacking
Might get a lot of hate for this, but food. KC does country style, BBQ (if you like sauce), and steak houses well. There’s some good pockets of Latin food. But everything else?
Where’s the good dim sum? Matza ball soup? Bagels. Pizza.
9/10 if someone recommends food in KC to me, they’re from here and the food tends to be just ok.
For pizza providence is good good. For bagels meshuggah is good. Will they stand up against places in NYC? No but in the context of a midsized Midwest city it's pretty nice.
Gotta second Messuggah for bagels - they are great for KC / by midwest standards. Providence is good, but I prefer 1889 for pizza (different styles of pizza though).
Agree on bagels. I'm a KC native and I do really like Meshuggah but I honestly can't tell if that's just because the only alternative to it is Einstein Brothers.
For pizza, again, I don't have a good comparison, but I get delivery from Minsky's and Artego and am happy. But I grew up eating Dominos and Pizza Hut.
I think the thing with KC now is that what we have is so much better than what we used to have in many categories. So things that would not be best in category or even average in a city that specializes in it seem pretty great. And there's also a lot of pocket neighborhoods with great "ethnic" restaurants. But so much of KC metro is suburban sprawl that if you live in Olathe you're probably not driving to Argentine to go to El Pollo Rey. Or Columbus Park for Pho.
For dim sum, my Asian friends all seem to love ABC Cafe.
Dim sum is lacking, abc isn’t really my fav and isn’t the vibe of dim sum anyway. We definitely could handle a few Jewish delis with smoked pastrami like mannys in chicago or all the east coast spots. The reality is each city has different cultural makeup so that’s what we get. Like kc for example has some of the best thai food, much better than I’ve had in chicago and even maybe LA to a degree. Like Waldo Thai is world class Thai and that’s a big deal.
Decent italian food. Sure we've got some places around that are good, but there's not a single memorable sandwich I've had in KCMO since taking the I-70 from STL.
Bring on the downvotes, ya'll know there isn't anything comparable here.
I’m from central Illinois and I miss Cozy Dog and horseshoes (food dish specific to central Illinois).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_sandwich
Chicken Kitchen. I'd kill for a chicken chop with the curry mustard for lunch. And it's not unhealthy. It's just rice and chicken and some veggies. Everything near me is fried or burgers. It'd be an easy every day lunch for me.
Chinese takeout in KC is so poor, my wife and I have given up trying to find a place that's even worth scratching the itch. Even the worst place in St. Louis is leagues better then any place we've tried. Worse yet... we've found its more expensive and you typically get less food.... make it make sense.
I'll add, I've been very close to thinking of opening a BHall's in KC, just so I can have there wings sauce.
[Stew Leonard’s!](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g33753-d3930790-Reviews-Stew_Leonard_s-Danbury_Connecticut.html) So many samples and entertainment for the kiddos and young at heart. It was always a treat hitting the one in Yonkers.
“It's a cross between Cosco, Trader Joe's, your local supermarket and Whole Foods.”
A better regulated contractor industry. AZ
had a contractor board that published information and reviews about contractors and sanctioned those that engaged in illegal practices. 20 years in KC and it's still a challenge to find qualified, reliable tradesmen.
Bring back White Castle. It started in Kansas but has disappeared from the area. Is the food good? Hell no. Is it better than Burger King, it can be. Also it’s 24 hour in many areas
I don’t know how many 24-hour diners this city can support but I imagine it has to be more than zero.
Isn't Waffle House 24/7? I do miss Chubby's.
I was just talking about Chubby's with someone the other day. It's missed.
I miss having random conversations and dance battles outside of Chubby's.
IHop is 24 hours in most locations
My god can we please get a good 24 diner in a SAFE neighborhood with GOOD HEALTHY food that ISNT a chain restaurant?? Why is this so hard for KC
Peruvian sandwiches More options for traditional delis
More Latin American food in general
I would say "better" not "more". Already can't go more than a mile without seeing a Mexican place.
Mexico ≠ Latin America. We have a huge Colombian population in KC and not a single Colombian restaurant other than a food truck
I’ve got to respectfully disagree, duck. Never too many Mexican restaurants.
Surprisingly lenexa and OP around 87th and quivira has sone decent Latin American food places.
Korean BBQ and more Asian grocery stores. Pls.
We have some pretty good Asian markets in Overland Park but I’d love to see an H-Mart
I know, but it’s H-Mart I keep thinking of
I’d camp out for the opening of an h-mart
We have enough Korean BBQ, we need more non-BBQ Korean food. Sobahn is sorely missed.
Not a grocery store but I really want a freaking Daiso. 🥲
OP fishing for business ideas. (Starts making notes to self)
Waaaaaaay ahead of you. Funny, my out of town family own a business and franchises stores. I’ve seriously considered it in the past but 1.) don’t have the start up capital, 2.) don’t have the time, and 3.) don’t think a sandwich shop would succeed in this saturated market.
Allow me to offer a similar, yet different idea; hot dogs
RIP New York Dawg Pound
Was that the joint off Shawnee Mission Parkway just west of 69/Metcalf past the old Steak n Shake? That place was fucking GREAT, but I swear that location must be straight up cursed.
Yep
Would love to see Portillo’s expand here.
Check out Morty's on 43rd ave in KCK, you're welcome.
Omg came here to say this! Go grab a delicious dog guys!!! Morty’s is so good
For real a sausage business run as a cart is hard to tank unless you’re a lazy person. For years in chicago an old polish lady would post up outside club neo and cook polish sausages for $5, and the drunk people would get more sober, then drink more and dance until 4 so the club loved it.
Absolutely cannot beat it
The Werner’s on johnson drive in mission is actually fantastic to visit when they’re grilling polish sausages outdoors. It’s something I didn’t know about until this last year and it’s 🤌.
Big D’s Dog Cart used to be pretty hood but I don’t know if he is still around… used to post up outside Lowe’s on 40hwy all the time but haven’t seen him forever
Bring a Coney Islander from Tulsa up here. Seems like it would be a hit.
I left Kansas City and moved back to Chicago last year. I didn’t really realize how little I ate hot dogs.
Saturated market? please tell me of these great sandwich shops that are saturating kc. I can only think of a handful. I'm not counting places like pigwich as sandwich shops.

A Korean sauna or two
First thought was the Korean spa, Spa Castle, from Dallas area
Omg that sounds amazing
This is exactly what I would say.
Korean spa or Turkish bathhouse would be dope.
[https://newks.com/](https://newks.com/) high-quality sandwich/salad/soup place that was started by the people who founded Macalisters. It's a fantastic restaurant with good prices that I miss having as an option.
Had them out in West Central Texas, did enjoy, would eat in KC!
We had a couple here in Springfield but they closed a few years back. Too bad, they’re leagues better than McAlister’s in every way.
Better public transit. Imagine the economic impact of a robust light rail system that could take you from MCI any major point in the KC metro. That'd be fucking amazing.
Kc would also like this as well
I remember taking a bus all over the Salt Lake valley for $1.50-$3.00
Hell, just half decent buses is all I ask for. More frequency, better routes, less stops (so they can be faster, 31st is a good example that needs less), and quality bus shelters that are maintained. Doner Kebab! I know it can’t feel like the German ones I frequented but man do I miss that!
Look, I can barely get good Al Pastor tacos. You think Döner is possible? 😭
I think it is weird that german cuisine isn't more common around here with how much of the area has german heritage. Even if they didn't purposefully immigrate, a bunch of Nazi POW's were kept in camps across the midwest, and some were allowed to integrate after the war.

NHL hockey.
I love basketball but NHL would do better here I think.
Preach 🙌
My wife and I have always said Portillos we used to love it back home.
Any time I go home, the first stop I make is Portillo's for a proper dipped Italian beef
It is indeed a travesty to not have Portillos here and yet there are locations in AZ.
HEB
God yeah. An HEB or a Wegman’s would be amazing.
Also I love Raiders of the Lost Arc shopping experience but I consider myself a top man, so might just be me.
Wegmans! Yes!
Publix. Nothing compares to going grocery shopping and picking up a chicken tender sub while you’re at it.
Just moved here from Houston last month and the lack of HEB and Kroger hurts.
I miss HEB soooo much!
Lmao
It’s not the same, but the Price Chopper in Roeland Park is the closest I’ve found to my limited HEB experience.
I'm originally from KC, but spent some time in SE Texas and I do miss the widespread availability and quality of the breakfast taco scene
A place that makes breakfast sandwiches to go that isn't fast food.
NY-style bagel sandwiches. And don’t say Einstein.
Meshuggah
For real their pastrami lox bagel is one of my top 5 kc foods. Just killer
Meshuggah hits this for me! It’s not Bagel Garden but it’s damn close.
Luca Bagel, and then make your own sandwiches is probably a good substitute.
lol, well doing it yourself would solve most of the suggestions in this thread.
Well yes. Buying these bagels though cuts out 96% of the work of making a sandwich though, and would probably be better than anything someone made at home.
Wawa from the east coast and In-n-out from the west coast.
A decent bakery making fresh artisan bread. Luckily for me I've learned to just bake my own bread to satisfy my needs.
Ibis
Where is Ibis!?
Blackdog Coffee or Messenger Coffee
It is in the crossroads nearish the KC Star building, even nearer to the TOTALLY NUDE.
Blackhole bakery also does some really fantastic breads.
Mclains
Bloom bakery does bread
Farm to Market
I've gotten their breads from Price Chopper, HyVee, and Hen House. I've even gotten their breads directly from them during the farmers maket in OP. I've never been satisfied with their breads though.
bloom in river market
McClains is what ya want
Seafood, hands down. And wild Maine blueberries. Maine is a New England staple of unique culinary dishes and I miss them so much. More creative restaurants and soft serve places with more than just chocolate, vanilla and swirl. We are talking 50 flavors of soft serve!
Fiddlehead season posts on Facebook make me miss Maine even more!
Oh shit, another Mainer in KC!? We do exist!
Light rail to/fr airport.
Seriously, even if it was union station to the airport I would be so happy.
Salad places like Sweet Green and Chop’t. And a wegmans!
Wegmans. Wawa. Sheetz (let them compete!). Rita's Italian Ice (Miami Ice is acceptable, but not the same). Additional soft pretzel places (KC Pretzel Boys is great - but it's like a 40 min drive for them when we have a craving). WAWA is not going to enter into the Quik Trip market. But, I hear ya.
You're from Pennsylvania aren't you?
What, the Wawa and Sheetz gave it away? :-) (Philadelphia suburbs as a kid, then Pittsburgh later for college)
Portillos!!!! I miss the heart attack worthy cake shake so much. And we need more Italian beef sandwich places.
Please tell me you have been to Pizza Man in Lenexa
Decent Chicago deep dish. Also a chicken joint called "Wings Over".
Have you had Third Coast Pizza?
I took this differently than a lot of people did, but for me it would be a good base of software engineering companies. We’ve got a couple tech companies here but nobody pays like they do in most other cities the size of KC.
Seattle’s public transportation, especially light rail to the airport.
RUNZA. I don’t mind driving to Lawrence every once in a while but seriously…just bring one back to KC. I moved down here and they closed the one in Mission/Shawnee like a month later. Super rude.
I think about the Runza like everyday. So good
Same. Especially with fresh HOT crinkle fries.
We call them beirocks here. https://bloombakingco.com/
True and I’ve had a bierock BUT there’s just something about a hot cheese runza and some HOT and fresh perfectly salted crinkle fries. *chefs kiss* It could also be because I’m pregnant and I’ve made SEVERAL trips to Lawrence so far. #noshame

The South Shore Rail Line. When I lived in Chicagoland/NW Indiana, you could take the rail line into downtown Chicago from the Hammond/East Chicago area for less than $15 round trip. It may have gone up since I moved away from there.
Decent asian food....
The correct answer is an alcoholic slushee place similar to a few in Columbia and STL!
Trops! RIP Snow and Company.
Trops!! Yes I couldn’t remember the name. And KC daiquiri is solid but hours aren’t the best and you have to sit down, I want to walk around the Nelson with my drink lol
KC Daiquiri like a block north of P&L?
How about an alcohol district where I can walk around places besides the inside of P&L
I want dinners and sandwich joints
Bonchon is a Korean Fried chicken chain I like a lot. I know there are Korean fried chicken places but I haven't been very impressed sadly
Not a business but I wish KC had New Mexico Hatch green chili
Pollo Tropical from Florida.
Braums. Next question.
Meijer (Michigan native) or Publix (lived in Florida for 6 years)
Oh I would LOVE a Meijer here!
Ted drewes
Andy's is superior. Hell, Sheridan's is superior. Never understood the Ted Drewes love. (I know, fighting words.)
Sad to see Sheridan's disappearing from their 3+ JoCo locations, and now there's so many Andy's. Don't why one got traffic/hype and the other had lost it.
all i care about as a local is getting white castle back and having in n out
it's pretty wild that we don't have a white castle considering it was founded in Wichita.
Olathe had one in the 90s, there's a Waffle House there now
In n Out
Can we just get Old Spaghetti Factory back?
Pei Wei!
RIP location on Metcalf
Pressed cafe and/or a Friendly Toast!
Brugger's Bagels. I could also go for a retro video game store that ISN'T Vintage Stock.
Haven't seen it, but a Italian place called Piada. It was basically a Chipotle/Mr. Goodcents version of Italian pasta bowls. Fresh Mozz balls, made in house sauces, and the Pepperoni Piada sticks were far better than you'd expect them to be. Also the best ranch fries ever. Not a specific restaurant but Native American Fry Bread with toppings like chili rojo, chili verde, taco, or honey.
A true gothic/alternative bar.
Jewish deli and NY style pizza are lacking big time imo
I would make it really friendly for companies to have remote work. I am not fully familiar with the laws but I know some states don't have remote options or certain businesses that are remote won't go to MO. I know people in other states that would love to move to MO and keep their same job but if they have an address change it could jeopardize their job.
Seafood, beaches, and the Sphere.
Are beaches a business/industry? Never knew.
Indirectly yes
>*beaches* Settle down there Lex Luthor.
The sphere as in the atrocity that plays ads nearly 24/7 and has barely discernible screens once you get within three blocks of it? Cool enough venue but the light pollution is crazy, just for ads too.
Bojangles
Music stores, coming from Wichita which is half the size of KC they had about 5-10 QUALITY music stores in the metro. KC has NOTHING, you have to drive out to Lawrence to get anything decent.
Like instrumental music? There's Meyers Music around, if you're not looking for record stores.
7th Heaven and Mills are pretty decent
Tasty tacos. If you know, you know
Affordable senior housing.

I’d like to see more Greek and Cuban restaurants. Yummm
/r/Olathe got a Cuban restaurant out in the last year, I welcome more!
Yes! This is the only one that I know of haha. But it’s excellent!!
There's also La Cubana https://maps.app.goo.gl/bx9cSM6FtorTjDpg6?g_st=ac
The Mexican places in KCK or on Independence Ave are legit.
The Itilian Sausage up in Gladstone should help with your sandwich problem.
This is the way
What all have you tried?
I'm also from St Louis and Westport Flea Market has an Italian sausage that is great.
Carollo's Grocery & Deli in the River Market
I’m from central Illinois and I miss Cozy Dog and horseshoes (food dish specific to central Illinois). https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horseshoe_sandwich
Texan, here. HEB.
Chicken Kitchen. I'd kill for a chicken chop with the curry mustard for lunch. And it's not unhealthy. It's just rice and chicken and some veggies. Everything near me is fried or burgers. It'd be an easy every day lunch for me.
Lee Lee asian supermarket.
A music scene would be nice
[Stew Leonard’s!](https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_Review-g33753-d3930790-Reviews-Stew_Leonard_s-Danbury_Connecticut.html) So many samples and entertainment for the kiddos and young at heart. It was always a treat hitting the one in Yonkers. “It's a cross between Cosco, Trader Joe's, your local supermarket and Whole Foods.”
A better regulated contractor industry. AZ had a contractor board that published information and reviews about contractors and sanctioned those that engaged in illegal practices. 20 years in KC and it's still a challenge to find qualified, reliable tradesmen.
A Peruvian chicken place. Such a simple concept, but the sides and sauces really make it an experience.

Hello fellow prior Floridian 👋🏼
Bring back White Castle. It started in Kansas but has disappeared from the area. Is the food good? Hell no. Is it better than Burger King, it can be. Also it’s 24 hour in many areas
Springfield style Chinese food.
I miss cashew chicken so bad.

Supposedly Fortune Wok in OP has some Springfield-style options, but I haven't personally been yet.
Jasmine Garden on 95th and Antioch has “Springfield Chicken” but it’s tiny chicken pieces with brown sauce on the side. Not the same!
You can find it at Tao Tao
Let’s start with Chinese food
Much rather have authentic Chinese food tbh
