Carollos. Lived in Italy for 7 years so I understand your problem! Was shocked on a trip last year how inexpensive food and drink was in Italy. Used to always be more expensive but the coin has flipped, big time.
We were there last year and couldn’t believe the low cost of eating out. Appetizers, a bottle of wine, entrees, deserts, and a digestif for wife and I could be had for around €50, so $60. That would be close to $200 for the quality in KC.

You aren’t lying, dishes were 10-15 at any given trattoria or restaurant, whereas here you can bet on spending 15+ on fast food.
