To answer a few questions...
I've been on Steam for 14 years, so this is 14 years worth of game play. Due to disabilities and living on a fixed income, games keep me busy and keeps my mind active.
Q: How do i have so much time to play? A: My ability to play games has increased since i retired. Only so much yard work, wood working and gardening i can stand and I don't like watching TV. Why watch someone else have an adventure, when i can have adventures of my own?
Q: How do i put so many hours into a game? A:Making mods, testing mods and enjoying the game to it's fullest. (Skyrim, Fallout, 7Days, NWN etc) Some of these games i had rented servers and played with friends. (Ark, Conan, Life is Feudal, Battlefield etc)
Q: Why do i have so many hours in games? A: If i enjoy the game i'll replay it multiple times. I like to get my money's worth. I never rush through a game just to be able to say I've beaten it. When i say i've explored a game, i've REALLY explored it.
I don't have many if any, short games. I enjoy games that will hold my attention for days not hours. I also play a lot of building/survival games. It's not hard to spend time in a game when you are building complex settlements, massive castles or in the case of Life is Feudal, the game is grindy as fuck.
Hope this helps.
EDIT TO ADD: Why do some people seek to tear someone down for doing what they enjoy? Is it envy?
That is an impressive amount of hours, but yeah I'm the same. I prefer gaming over TV most days. As long as you do something you enjoy, that's all that matters.
The most hours I have in a game is GTA 5 with like 800 hours and that's mostly just leaving it on overnight to build stock. How TF do people get that high?
If i spend anywhere from 60 to 100 dollars for a game, i'm going to get my money's worth. A game will sit in my library for 6 moths to a couple years between replays. Give it a try. Go back to one of those games you played a year ago and see how much you remember or play it differently than you did the first time.
I put in 400h and only played through the game once. Personally I enjoyed the janky settlements system... spent a lot of time building. Is it as good as NV? No, but it was still fun for a hoarder/builder like me.
I can hear the Ark theme song in my head. I've got 4541 hours in Evolved and 1020 in Ascended. Been using KCD to fight my addiction, but I can't seem to kick the dinosaurs and guns. I need my fix.
I can understand all except for that 600 hrs spent in Hogwarts, played for almost 100 hrs, a good game but the world is kinda empty, nothing close to Skyrim level
The Enhanced Edition on Steam a little over 526. The Original and all the DLCs, I would wager a guess somewhere between Ark and Skyrim. I had a a stable of 7 characters each one was maxed out. Plus i played on a PvP server for a good long while. Started out as a new player ended up a modder and GM for the server.
I mean if you turned the games off when you're away from your computer, you could save some money on electricity and prolong your components life, but I guess big number make brain happy?
Did you try modding? There are some cool mods out like the prohibition of walking at night with sneaking through the castles trying not to get caught by professors and prefects. Unfortunately the modding process has stopped I think, not much of a new mods in last months for sure
How do u have so much time… why are u replaying those games or how the heck do you have so many hours
As a 46 year old, these are all rookie numbers.
Hahaha. Well i do have other hobbies.
What you have to realize is that this is 14 years of game play. I have been on Steam for 14 years. And yes i replay games often.
Still…
It’s really not that bad. A few hundred hours across a handful of games per year is reasonable. Make that 14 years and voilà.

You don't have to justify your hobbies to stupid trolls.
Thank you.
How many playthroughs of Hogwarts is that?
4 One for each house.
How do you have time for this?
Simple answer is I'm retired.
conan exiles seems like such a fun game but i had to stop playing a few hours in bc of the spiders. they terrify me

Fkin hell bro how do u even put 3k hours into skyrim?
mods
Nerlzer is right, mods. Making them and testing them racks up a lot of hours.
I dipped out of FO4 at about 12 hours, let alone 100x that.
I put in 400h and only played through the game once. Personally I enjoyed the janky settlements system... spent a lot of time building. Is it as good as NV? No, but it was still fun for a hoarder/builder like me.

4 Playthroughs. One for each house.
Bruh your top 3 are identical to mine
Nice!
13%+ of the life were spent in games (in those 14 years). Just math :D
I have to say I'm impressed by your willingness to do math on my behalf.
M O A R
Good taste in games, sir. How much time have you played nwn for ?

The good old days of NWN servers. I played on an RP server and it was one of the best times of my gaming life.

You have almost 2 full years of gameplay in the two rows we see. No need to lie dude...
That's too many hours for gaming but okay.

467 In Starfield. There's been a big update since my first playthrough. So i might do another.
How did you spend almost 619 hours in Hogwarts Legacy? I get it, I loved the game, but 619 hours??
4 Playthroughs. One for each house and A LOT of exploring.
Did you try modding? There are some cool mods out like the prohibition of walking at night with sneaking through the castles trying not to get caught by professors and prefects. Unfortunately the modding process has stopped I think, not much of a new mods in last months for sure
