I feel ya. Currently most "high end" knife I own is an orange Kershaw Leek, but I don't EDC it. The only two knives I got on me are my No. 7 Carbon steel Opinel and Swiss Tech Wurdig and that's because they're cheap and there won't be too big a broken heart if they broke (only a little heartbreak, but not a big one) when being used and abused.
One day though... I'll break that $50 barrier and get me a fancier knife to EDC. One day...

Misread your title as "high end rifle" somehow.
Typed up a whole response about how my AR, bugout bag, and knife for that bag all match, rifle fits in the bag, everything.
Then I reread the title. I carry a $125 TwoSun sometimes...

I’ve been daily a Spartan Harsey Folder for the past year and a half. Monkey edge show exclusive at the California Custom Knife Show.
I've been upgrading all my budget knives into more expensive ones. and I can't afford to buy tools I don't use, so they all get carried and used.
\* Chaves 229 = my most expensive?
\* Benchmande 945 Osborne mini = my most carried?
\* MKM Maximo = nicest feel in hand?
\* Kizer Militaw = the nicest action?
\* Tactile Rockwall = most subtle in pocket?
\* ZT 0350 = my most beat up?
Same I got a Mini Arius LNIB I’ve only ever fondled and flipped.
Got two Small Sebenzas I use and (lightly) abuse on the regular without a second thought.
Yeah, with my CRK and RHK’s I think “these were made to be used and abused, I’m gonna use em” no problems there. But with the arius I’m like “man this is art, I don’t wanna ruin this” even though it’s still a knife the small details they add make all the difference in my mind. Maybe if I get a 2nd arius I might finally do it since I don’t have to feel bad if one is still kept nice lol
* Arno Bernard Imamba. The sebenza I actually wanted. Customized by WoK. Thing is a crazy good slicer and actually decent for fidgeting.
I have much more expensive knives, and someone out there is butthurt that they're "safe queens", but I just can't justify beating them up when I 1) have perfectly good beaters and 2) already have "high end beaters" that I've devalued from... erhm... beating them up. The reality is that you really can liquidate knives with relative ease, and they lose a lot of value as soon as they start accumulating blemishes, especially on higher-end pieces.
I carry everything I own, some of them are considered high-end: Arius, Strix, BBK Raptor, UrbanEDC F5.5 Seghaia, Reate Iron.
I have had one knife that I didn't carry, a limited edition WE Ziffius with all the jewelry. I ended up selling it because I didn't carry it. I won't have another safe queen.
Oh boy where do we start.....

Unfortunately all of those but two are gone now (damn Marshall Fire) but they were all users. Not heavy users, but users.
I think I have some Benchmades and Microtechs both in the $400-500 range that I carry/use but they’re all production models and nothing I’d regret using.
I think GM Ace Sonoma v1 (retailed $265), also carry a MBK Old Gaurd (don't know what it goes for). If my PM2 wasn't a seconds it would be the highest end (maxamet w/ blem AWT scales)
Benchmade 940 and a Spyderco Para 3 LW. I lost the P3 for 2 weeks and was miserable about it. Wife (god bless her) found it in the couch. Both get used daily and not babied. $200 is definitely the max I can pay for a EDC knife. Any more and I'd be too worried about losing it....or using it.

Cold Steel American Lawman.
I had an old one with a thicker handle & an AUS8 blade. The new S35VN steel came out with a way thinner handle. I was able to swap the blades & carry the S35VN steel with the old handle.
My idea of 'high end' is this. $100 bucks. NOBODY that I know of who works in Law Enforcement carries an expensive knife. Even when I worked in construction & other jobs, NOBODY I came across carried a knife that even cost $100 bucks.
What a great post! Really brought out a lot of passion and enthusiasm from the community. I have a few expensive knives, but the one I find myself using most often is the affordable Kizer Sheepdog. I was a bit skeptical when bought it as I am not a fan of the look of this wide-blade style, but it was sharp out of the box, feels sturdy, has a smooth action and a very satisfying click into place. I generally find myself reaching for it unless I need something with a more defined point or something thicker.

Reading through all the posts, one thing I’m surprised about is how many people list a Benchmade as their go-to knife given all the snark about BMs here, and I’m also surprised that there aren’t more Spydercos given all the love for them in this subreddit.

Top one is the most I’ve spent on a knife ($600) bottom is most valuable, costed me $350ish worth about $1200. Just got the middle one yesterday in a trade for about $450.
Large Inkosi since I got it. Before that was a ZT 0562Ti and the carbon bugout. Not sure the bugout is really so high end but by retail price it is lol

You can thumb flick it really well actually, but its quite difficult to get the hang of because you really have to stick your finger in there and push with your nail
most used knife is my mkm timavo carbon fiber but just for opening things at my desk and fidgeting
Anything I carry and use was $150 or less before mods. I have a very nice brass GiantMouse Ace Biblio that I would carry, but it’s too heavy and slick.
Right now my rotation is a Vosteed Corgi Pup, a Civivi Elementum with AWS scales, and a Knafs Lander 1 also with AWS scales.

My ZT0308BLKTS. Definitely not as fancy as some others here, but it was an adjustment to start carrying an almost $400 knife.
I might be subbed to r/knives, but unlike most of you I only have a few. All purchased over 10 years ago. My Kershaw 1790 Turbulence is the most high end knife I carry, and own unless you count a meat carving knife I bought from Amazon for about the same price. I bought 3 of them from woot for like $35 each. Gave 1 to my dad and 1 to my brother in law. I haven't found a need for another knife yet. My next best knife is a Winchester folder I found in the cabinet of an old apartment. That stays in a bag in my car.

For me it’s between this custom by u/HawkComprehensive178, and my benchmade 85 which I don’t have with me atm
Daily, Usually a Winkler Belt Knife, SD1, or Contingency and a Sebenza
If it's a dressy occasion I'll swap the Winkler and Sebenza for a John Young custom push dagger and Todd Begg Bodega Custom
Crucarta PM2 or Manix 2 Rex45, CJRB Hectare S90V w Ultem or Kizer Begleiter button lock, a Kershaw Launch 15 and a Bradford G-Necker. When i get to work, i switch those for a stretch 2 k390, a Kershaw Misdirect s35vn, and a Ruike P801. Generally, I have 4 or 5 knives on me as I don't like being in a position where i can't reach my knife. It's happened before carrying a load or underneath something doing mechanic work. The ruike is a loaner since coworkers know I always have a knife. I have never bought a knife that was over $200. The Crucarta PM2 I bought on sale for $165
My most recent edc rotation consists of an MKC Stonedgoat (Orange Cerakote), MKC Mini Speedgoat 2.0 (also OC) and a BM Hidden Canyon Hunter in S30V (I’ve also got the Saddle Mountain Skinner in S30v as well as both in S90v but I’m probably going to move the S90v on).
The Stonedgoat and HCH get carried in scout sheaths right by my belt buckle while the mini speedgoat is in a leather pocket sheath. An honorable mention goes to my Leatherman Arc and its magnacut blade as well as my Spyderco Shaman. The Shaman was my edc of choice until right before Christmas when I just switched to fixed blades for some reason.
I have a custom cerakoted dessert warrior microtech UltraTech I paid $325 for the knife then spent an additional $300 to have it cerakoted as long as I'm staying in the confines of Idaho I carry the ultra tech with me 99% of the time but since they work in Washington it gets left at home for OKC rat (1 or 2 and a Kershaw 7010 in d2)
Then I have a pair of custome knives made by Carnivora out of Texas that were a collaboration design between me and the owner It's kind of my take on a machete size kukri... The large one is the one I commissioned I think I spent $750 on it and the smaller was one that my ex-wife commissioned feeling that the size that I had chose was going to be way too big for my intended use of clearing brush off of the forest service roads in North Idaho and I think the smaller one was $400 I have way more use on the large one 😂

I carry one of my Rockstead folders 25% of the time, and will use it for ANY task I’d use a $100 benchmade for. The others (and all other four figure knives I own) are safe queens - but the one Rockstead is a workhorse.
Any of my knives under $1k - I have no problem using. My most beat to shit knife is a Damascus bladed, wood handle inlay Sebenza.
https://preview.redd.it/r517x0et3ztc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a3636645f65ae2fe7c9f774385694d5d00992625
I go between this F3 and 2 Hinderers. Got Payson in the mix as well
Despite UK knife laws not allowing me to carry locking knives. I loophole the law by just using them for work purposes in construction.
My 3 high ends are the techno 2, spyderco sway back and spyderco vallotton.
Swaybacks tip is perfect for scoring cement/sand bags.
Technos pretty good because it's small goes untouched in the office. Vallattons a beast for stubborn heavy duty packaging.
I wore my para 3 out after a year of use but these high ends have lasted a lot longer
one of my oldest - my trusted rockstead KOU.

Not high end at all, but mine is the SAK Ranger. A wonderful knife.
Thee day’s virtually all of my EDC knives re a SAK of one sort or another. I like the flexibility of having more than a blade.
Cold Steel Espada XL.
Otherwise I just carry a Leatherman Charge TTI+ that's slightly modified.
I never really bring my other knifes out because whilst one of them is prohibited and illegal to use outside of having in a collection, I built it with relatively expensive materials and it's about 300$ or so, didn't want to get it damaged.
I also have a AGA Campolin Cocobolo folding stiletto which I use as a letter opener, I don't know if theyre still selling them anymore as they were a limited release.
That's about all I use, the Espada XL and Leatherman get the most use out of any of my collection.
Spyderco Paysan or the new Sapphire Malibu. I got lucky with a no-lock-stick Paysan and love it. Just wish it were a smidge smaller.
The Malibu instantly took its place in my EDC rotation. Great action, beautiful blade, and perfect EDC size.
A Benchmade Adamas (Cruwear) and Spyderco PM2 in S90V are the two “high-end” knives I carry (switching off between them, depending on where I am and what I’m doing).
Out of interest, what do you guys tend to use your knife for, day-to-day?
I’ve been holding off biting the bullet between a benchmade bugout (love the look of the brass scales that someone keeps posting) and a fallkniven f1 (f1x makes me think I should upgrade, but maybe it’s not needed?!). Still can’t decide haha.
I have acquired around 20 folders for my EDC rotation over the last 7-8 years. Most of them in the last 4 years. The average cost per knife is probably about $225. I do have one outlier though. My large Sebenza 31 is worth almost twice what my next mvk is worth. I carry it and use it more than any of the others.
Folder: Custom Emerson Super 6 model as an EDC.
Fixed: Countless Randall's, Joe Kious customs, and often a custom Vestal Extended Chute Knife (exhibition grade) , double edged = original scaled down Agent type 1st pattern F-S from early WWII with well established and famous OSS SOE provenance and obtained by noted author, curator and collector (I needed a new field knife).
Sandrin Monza Titanium. Super fun to have a knife you don't really need to sharpen, but I was an idiot and tried to pry a staple and chipped a bit of the tip lol. Hardness != toughness. Whoda thunk
nothing fancy, just a production microtech stitch ram lock.
Those look nice!
yea I got the stitch a it's a beasty blade for sure
15 dollar ganzo, gotta work my way up into using my more expensive knives without internally dying
I feel ya. Currently most "high end" knife I own is an orange Kershaw Leek, but I don't EDC it. Benchmade 940-1 is my edc
The corvette of knives
Mine too. Punches well above it's weight doesn't it? I'll admit I might baby it a bit, and always have a beater on me as well.

Benchmade 940-1 carbon fiber S90V is my favorite edc atm, thing never dulls on me.
I’ve had my Sebenza 31 on me every day since I got it
I carry everything I own, some of them are considered high-end: Arius, Strix, BBK Raptor, UrbanEDC F5.5 Seghaia, Reate Iron. I have had one knife that I didn't carry, a limited edition WE Ziffius with all the jewelry. I ended up selling it because I didn't carry it. I won't have another safe queen.

I think I have some Benchmades and Microtechs both in the $400-500 range that I carry/use but they’re all production models and nothing I’d regret using.
Kaviso Penguin in Mokuti is on the upper end of what I would spend. Ive had that on me for the last 2 years. So somewhere around $250 shipped
Mmm... Pena Apache? Kunwu Pulsar? Yeah either of those.
Greg Lightfoot Thresher
Microtech Halo 6
Ooo, I don’t see many of those being carried but single action OTFs are the coolest!
Sebenza 31 with Damascus.
I think GM Ace Sonoma v1 (retailed $265), also carry a MBK Old Gaurd (don't know what it goes for). If my PM2 wasn't a seconds it would be the highest end (maxamet w/ blem AWT scales)
Combat troodon in tungsten
$150-250 is comfortable, $300 is pricy and 500+ are special occasions.

I generally find myself reaching for it unless I need something with a more defined point or something thicker. https://preview.redd.it/ysfdn1ledytc1.jpeg?width=4284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bcd3ee234481406b9109e1259f783d4f6cf7b2c7 Reading through all the posts, one thing I’m surprised about is how many people list a Benchmade as their go-to knife given all the snark about BMs here, and I’m also surprised that there aren’t more Spydercos given all the love for them in this subreddit.
I’m so amazed that my post got so much attention! I can’t even read or respond to all the comments 😅

XM-18 and Spartan Harsey Folder. I also use my Winkler Belt Knife when camping.
Hinderer XM18. I've been carrying it for about 6-8 months.
Umnumzaan
I have a custom cerakoted dessert warrior microtech UltraTech I paid $325 for the knife then spent an additional $300 to have it cerakoted as long as I'm staying in the confines of Idaho I carry the ultra tech with me 99% of the time but since they work in Washington it gets left at home for OKC rat (1 or 2 and a Kershaw 7010 in d2) Then I have a pair of custome knives made by Carnivora out of Texas that were a collaboration design between me and the owner It's kind of my take on a machete size kukri... The large one is the one I commissioned I think I spent $750 on it and the smaller was one that my ex-wife commissioned feeling that the size that I had chose was going to be way too big for my intended use of clearing brush off of the forest service roads in North Idaho and I think the smaller one was $400 I have way more use on the large one 😂 https://preview.redd.it/kixkzh3brytc1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3e60b4dffd9d419b0ac0def6be963f63170dbc04
The most expensive one I carry/have is a spyderco shaman for work days. EDC is a bugout.
Custom Chris reeve sebenza 31 is my “most expensive” carry

Despite UK knife laws not allowing me to carry locking knives. I loophole the law by just using them for work purposes in construction. My 3 high ends are the techno 2, spyderco sway back and spyderco vallotton. Swaybacks tip is perfect for scoring cement/sand bags. Technos pretty good because it's small goes untouched in the office. Vallattons a beast for stubborn heavy duty packaging. I wore my para 3 out after a year of use but these high ends have lasted a lot longer

Not high end at all, but mine is the SAK Ranger. A wonderful knife. Thee day’s virtually all of my EDC knives re a SAK of one sort or another. I like the flexibility of having more than a blade.
A blue bugout but i switch the scale for the black bugout scale (material is harder)
Benchmade Adamas is what I carry every day. I have a ritual bloodletting knife that was gifted to me and it's price tag was $2600.
A Benchmade Adamas (Cruwear) and Spyderco PM2 in S90V are the two “high-end” knives I carry (switching off between them, depending on where I am and what I’m doing).

Benchmade Shootout, I think.
When I'm feeling fancy I'll sport one of my Combat Troodons with either the damascus or mirror finish setup.
Kansept shard with green titanium and copper
My most expensive knife ever was a bark River bravo 3. My most expensive carry is a Leatherman Wave
