He handicapped the spine of a cop with his upside down flag spear attack. It’s unfortunate that the sentence is still insufficient to act as a basic deterrent. Without contrition, he does not serve as a deterrent to other domestic terrorist traitors.

Zealousideal-Ad3814

Oh god he deserves to rot the rest of his life in prison.

AffectionateBrick687

30 months might be a life sentence for a 73 year old.

Vertuila

I hope so.

indefilade

Hopefully, yes.

sandysanBAR

Perhaps someone can poke him with a flagpole there?

Comfortable_Fill9081

Cop should sue him.

ExternalPay6560

We call that an Alito spear

MrBridgington

"It was a peaceful protest"

notnickthrowaway

“Just tourists sightseeing… no wait, it was antifa! A false flag by the FBI! See? It’s a political witch hunt of patriots! All MAGA martyrs! We are all [domestic terrorists](https://media2.dallasobserver.com/dal/imager/u/slideshow/14546296/domestic-terrorists-cpac-dallas-patrick-strickland.jpg) on this blessed day.”

poopiedrawers007

I know that I often smear poop on the walls of any building I visit as a tourist.

ExternalPay6560

Blame it Mr Hankey from South Park They say children smearing feces is a sign of serious stress. MAGA doesn't need more guns, they need a hug.

poopiedrawers007

Let’s have them shower first.

Imfrom_m-83

All the “tourists” took Ambien. It wasn’t their fault.

49thDipper

Trump calls them warriors

[deleted]

Jesus. Speechless.

These-Rip9251

I wonder if the injured police officer can file a civil lawsuit against Huttle?

mymar101

Back the blue am I right? Sarcasm

FancyBurtholeMuncher

Notice how after Jan 6 that whole saying just kinda went away

ExternalPay6560

I actually expected them to say that the capitol police are not the "real police". Like mall cops. They didn't even bother.

intronert

Stab in the back the blue, more like.

ekkidee

30 months is basically a first-time offender sentence. His contrition leaves a lot to be desired though and should have factored into sentencing. Glad to see these treasonists still getting solid time though.

wartsnall1985

Were the USA to be the type of country that he believed it to be, the type of country that would warrant risking everything to protest against, said country would have stuffed his fucking head into a noose long ago.

DirkBabypunch

I was extremely disappointed when the Guard showed up and everybody was just allowed to go home. Should have been handled like the attack it was.

cassius1213

"Horizontal warning shots"

parisrionyc

like trump's "contrition" will right?

5aur1an

Well, at least the guy is honest since they probably all think that.

MJGM235

Well, he's a violent felon now. Can't vote for Trump anymore 😂

BubuBarakas

Doubling down for that pardon.

Neceon

Just a reminder: if you don't vote this fall, Trump is going to let them all go.

kimapesan

Get fucked, traitor. Enjoy your 30 months bunking with Bubba.

bailaoban

I think Trump promising pardons and amnesty to these jabronis has emboldened them to take this attitude. If Trump doesn’t win, they may regret this bravado.

samwstew

Dying in jail for trying to illegally keep a conman grifter in power that literally would not piss on you if you were on fire to own the libs. Amazing.

lackofabettername123

The judge will probably increase his sentence from 30 to 35 days for his lack of contrition. I am sure the judge will remark on his exemplary life up until this bad decision.

attorneyatslaw

He got 30 months in jail, not 30 days.

Powerful_Check735

Hope he dies in jail

LongTallTexan69

A boy can dream

Lifebringer7

Is the second sentence sarcasm or a statement about race in the judiciary?

lackofabettername123

No, just remarking and how understanding these judges are about people who tried to hold Congress hostage and or kill them to install the loser of an election as an autocrat. These guys are getting off easy.  some have not even been publicly identified and charged. Without sedition Hunters identifying them one wonders how many fewer charges they would have brought?

n-some

I think there's a fear that if these seditionists are given heavy sentences, the right will use it as evidence that the government is putting on show trials to punish them. Obviously, they're doing that anyways, and would be doing that even if the punishment was 20 minutes of community service and writing an apology letter with a minimum length of 200 words.

lackofabettername123

Ironically in them letting these guy off easy because of false motivations projected on them they will incentivize more such false motivations to be uttered and make the problem much worse. At least for prosecutors and the FBI I believe they don't want to come in on the wrong side as it appears they might get in there again sooner or later.  Plus a good share of them are on the side of the autocrats let's not kid ourselves.

n-some

How so? Do you think these punishments are fair for an act of sedition? Or do you think that republicans aren't going to use any kind of pushback against their seditionist behavior as evidence that the state is unfairly prosecuting them?

PM_ME_YOUR_FAKENEWS

Republicans are going to do this regardless of what reality is. And since when did we let the fear of pushback dictate how we treat criminals, much less police assaulting insurrectionists?

n-some

I said there is a fear, not that I fear it. I assumed the second sentence made that clear when i said republicans were going to scream about mistreatment no matter how light the punishment is.
