A most welcome bit of good news today.

TheManWith2Poobrains

So only 3 out of 4 decisions today are total bollocks. \[Insert the 'so far' Simpsons joke here.\]

EuropeBound2025

It's like a lucky charm in a pile of shit serial.  With the FDA neutered, it may have worms too!

Perpetual_Nuisance

*cereal

EuropeBound2025

Thanks, lol

ThreeWilliam56

To be fair, it’s been a series of shit, so “serial” does kinda fit.

Perpetual_Nuisance

Yeah, it's a fun play on words, intentional or not :p

slowpoke2018

**I'm in danger** is the only appropriate meme for today's rulings

toomanysynths

true, but it’s nice that one of the “I’m in danger” pics has Bannon saying it

slowpoke2018

Can only hope he gets his personal Shawshank Experience, and given he's not as swift nor agile as Andy, he gets his fill

cccanterbury

Oh he's going to get filled all right.

dontreallycareforit

Get ready for that toilet wine, Steve!

pairolegal

The guards may well bring him single malts and other treats.

dontreallycareforit

Bags of tea, perhaps?

Altruistic-Text3481

Can he wear two shirts under the orange jumpsuit?

Nessie

Flooding the zone with shitwine

thegooseisloose1982

Man I needed some good news. I have been just depressed since last night. This morning with "fuck you agency experts" via this same Court I just couldn't get any lower.

Choice-Tiger3047

Never say never where this SCOTUS aid concerned.

toomanysynths

yep, they still have the immunity ruling Monday

suddenly-scrooge

If anyone just wants to feel that oomph [https://www.supremecourt.gov/orders/courtorders/062824zr\_bqm2.pdf](https://www.supremecourt.gov/orders/courtorders/062824zr_bqm2.pdf)

tyyreaunn

Concurring opinion from Kagan, joined by Sotomayor and Jackson: >Fuck this guy. Dissenting opinion by Thomas, joined by Alito: >:'(

ThroawAtheism

From Thomas's dissent: "Plaintiff offers nothing from the historical record showing that holding Steve Bannon in contempt of Congress was in common practice in 1787. Indeed, it is the Court's understanding that Mr. Bannon was not even born at that time."

HerbertWest

Is that a direct quote? I can't tell anymore. :p

glewtion

Sweet, sweet words.

BeltfedOne

Very short and VERY sweet. Only his orange Sith Lord is above the law.

eooxx

Oh shit you meant *short* short. It probably should have ended with "sent from my iPhone"

asetniop

And in case you want to feel it again... https://www.supremecourt.gov/orders/courtorders/062824zr_bqm2.pdf

Cellopost

That makes me so happy that I expect Utah requires age verification to view it.

OverReyted

You know we’re starved for real democracy when this decision is the best news we’re getting and everyone is elated about it.

ridicalis

Unlike Bannon, who looks like eats real democracy for breakfast. Lunch. Snack. After-snack. And then craps it out and eats it again for good measure.

Incontinento

Big Scotch is going to have a profitable weekend.

Vlad_the_Homeowner

And a terrible third quarter.

Incontinento

Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!

joeshill

It looks like someone will be spending Independence Day not being ... independent.

LiveAd3962

IF he actually reports.

Cellopost

I'm hoping he tries to flee to Italy.

ggroverggiraffe

What did Italy ever do to deserve that?

Ok-Snow-2386

I don't know why but that just makes me so happy

Fate_Unseen

Enjoy the ramen.

Chadmartigan

He will be trading it by the crate for toilet wine.

tellmewhenimlying

Seems like he might have some serious withdrawal symptoms coming his way.

ForWPD

Guard: “Inmate, you need to sign here.” Bannon: “I’m sorry, my hands don’t work.”

Barl0we

Are you kidding me? I bet Bannon has been making his own terlet wine for decades at home. He’ll be the Walter White of terlet wine in there.

BDLT

And extra shirts

DontGetUpGentlemen

Gosh. That's sad for him. Well, Monday I'm having a double Bombay dry martini while grilling a T-Bone, with chanterelle mushrooms, and a twice-baked potato. Maybe a mango sherbet after. Wonder what Steve's having?

thegooseisloose1982

> Maybe a mango sherbet after I don't know if I can look at anything orange for a while.

DontGetUpGentlemen

Hmm. Yeah. Maybe something blue. Blueberry.

asetniop

Oh, a martini is a good idea. I'm having steak and potatoes tonight too, maybe some green beans or beats from the garden.

DontGetUpGentlemen

Maybe Steve can harvest some beats from the prison garden. If he gets Good Time privileges. Otherwise, it's baloney on white bread.

asetniop

Ha ha, bit of a Freudian slip there.

DontGetUpGentlemen

Ah, beats from the prison guard-en, right? I 'whooshed' myself there.

Cellopost

Steve won't be having any desert, that's gotta go to pay for his protection.

Deep_Charge_7749

Chianti with fava beans?

HFentonMudd

fff-ffff-ffff-fffff

3vi1

For a second I was afraid the answer would be "the same", but I'm pleasantly surprised to hear he's not going to Club-Fed.

CurrentlyLucid

Hahahahahaha

cstmoore

I feel bad for the intake personnel. The delousing crew should demand HAZMAT suits.

Chilkoot

And blinders.

h3rald_hermes

I'd like to remind Bannon that his 2nd Amendment rights have afforded him a very quick and painless method to avoid jail time. He may choose this option with no forewarning to the courts and would constitute a permanent end to his legal woes.

jereman75

Inmate #05635-509

s_ox

Beautiful. Tears of joy. 😂

samwstew

Enjoy prison traitor!

SheriffTaylorsBoy

Gosh darn that's good news! Everyone down at Floyd's Barber Shop is gonna be so happy!

Adamantium-Aardvark

How long is he going for?

actionerror

Four months?

Adamantium-Aardvark

That’s it? Dude karened all the way to SCOTUS for 4 months??

actionerror

Talk about snowflakes huh

RDO_Desmond

Pity Bannon's cell mate.

beavis617

I'm thinking he files yet another appeal by the end of the day. I won't believe he's gonna serve his sentence until I see him reporting on Monday morning. 🙄

Generalbuttnaked69

This was the end of the line.

CuthbertJTwillie

He has money and lawyers. There's never closure for that Ilk

Generalbuttnaked69

So did Navarro and the result will be the same.

49thDipper

He’s cooked. The highest court in the land said too bad so sad. There is nowhere left to file an appeal. He spent a gob of money delaying the inevitable.

NurRauch

He's not cooked at all. He already won the main battle, which is in receiving a pardon to the felonies he committed. He only has to serve 4 months of federal jail time. He won't sweat this at all. The endless appeals were a longshot hoping to delay what amounts to a slight inconvenience, with a chance of maybe getting to further laugh his way out of a case in front of the country again.

asetniop

>He already won the main battle, which is in receiving a pardon to the felonies he committed. You realize that he's got another felony trial coming up, right? It starts September 16th.

NurRauch

Just looked it up. He's staring down the barrel of a New York state court case for the wall funding fraud stuff. That's great because it'll be in New York City and he can't get a pardon for it if Trump wins this November. Still though, he's not cooked because of this contempt case. 4 months minimum security federal jail for a misdemeanor level offense is nothing to this guy.

asetniop

If it was "nothing" he wouldn't have appealed it all the way to the Supreme Court.

NurRauch

Yeah he would have. He cares far more about *looking* untouchable to the American people because he gets high off the idea that people fear him. It's been his driving motivation in politics for ten years now. He loves the idea that liberals are horrified of the justice system's failures to see him imprisoned. The more it ruins the trust people have in the American justice system, the more pleased he will be.

DrQuailMan

"Bannon is no longer wining, he loses" "Looking like he was winning was the real win, therefore he is still winning" "But he doesn't look like he's winning anymore, because he lost, so he loses there too" "But he looked like he looked like he was winning, therefore he still looks like he's still winning" ... It's not 4D chess. The guy lost.

Spoomkwarf

It's also great because during the trial he'll have to stay in either the Brooklyn federal jail or Riker's, both of which are hellholes. Don't think they'll let him podcast from there.

DontGetUpGentlemen

Funny you say "he won't sweat this at all". It reminds me that even he probably won't be the smelliest guy in there. Have you ever been to prison? I haven't, but people who have tell me it's quite unpleasant and they wouldn't want to go there again.

Casterly

believe it or not, there is a time when you’ve gamed the system to delay things as long as you possibly can and no more recourse exists. The whole point of doing that in the first place is to hope for some sort of settlement or agreement to take place instead of a ruling. It’s not a strategy for avoiding a sentencing.

CuthbertJTwillie

What I'd have bet his lawyers have a new issue at a lower court which then needs to climb the ladder again

rabidstoat

This was federal, right? He could've been hoping to hold out until Trump was elected and beg for a pardon.

poolnome

Bannon hasn't paid his other lawyers they are suing him

DontGetUpGentlemen

Appeal to who? The Pope? Jesus?

jerechos

It's only for 4 months... could have been done with it already instead of wasting all this time and money.

Yes. Bad morning, more sleep then more coffee needed. Deleted, thanks for correcting me. They're still both horrible people.

DocJawbone

A rare find-out in this fuck-around timeline

Material_Policy6327

I’d love to see if he does or if he just tries to flee

Gunldesnapper

Good. Git gone.
