Watched the game with my dad last night and we commented on this as well. Crowd stepped up big time and were the crowd you hear at other barns this time of year.
GLG
Sat with two bruin fans beside me, and they tried talking smack about the leafs. That made me even more motivated to scream my head off. Result - currently voiceless but it was so worth it. GLGGGGG
Good to hear this. It was my first playoff game last night and while it sounded incredible I was literally against the back wall so hard to know if it was reaching the ice and tv.
I’ve been a leaf’s fan my whole life (not that old though haha), and I really want to say that might’ve been the loudest crowd I’ve ever heard in our building. At least with this current crop of players. Crowd was incredible! Good work!
The commentators even mentioned it on the broadcast that this was the loudest crowd they’ve heard at Scotiabank all year. It was truly electric in there.
They definitely did! I was at the square last night and every time we heard it through the broadcast we joined in. Best atmosphere I’ve ever seen at SBA. LETS BRING IT HOME FOR ANOTHER GAME BOYS 💙🍁💙🍁
That's what we wanted from our crowd. Sure, we scored first and the game was never tied after that point, but I felt the crowd was louder and excited for the first 35 minutes of scoreless hockey. Respect to those at the game!
It was loud af in there on the broadcast. Not “loud for leafs fans,” it was straight up loud and really cool to see
I don’t think I’ve ever heard a leafs crowd heckle a goalie so consistently before either
Yea that was the loudest leafs crowd I’ve ever seen, makes an immense difference not only last night but going on the road knowing your fans love you and have faith in the team. On behalf of leafs nation, thank you to every cheering fan in attendance last night.
Did people watching the game on CBC/SN actually think it was that loud by listening to it?
I thought it looked loud based on how animated the crowd was and towels waving, etc and you could hear them a little bit but didn't think it actually came out loud on the broadcast.
Meh, never had an issue with the fans. Our fans are savvy, If the team gives them something to get excited about, they get excited. Whenever they play well, like game 6, the fans are loud as anyone. Whenever they stink it up, the place clams up. Even Game 6 during that 4 min powerplay fan were quiet AF cause they really sucked. But the crowd came back as soon as they started showing some heart again.
Well that’s a little rude 😂 Edit: yeah, just read your post history. Looks like this is just the type of guy you are lol. Have a good rest of your day brother, go leafs go.
You're in a public community forum. You're an asshole so dont be sensitive when people are assholes back to you. Enjoy your cake annnnnd Game Day baaaaaby!
I would like to ask you and those with the same mind set to change your thinking slightly. No, you don’t mindlessly cheer when it’s like a bad blowout. But, too often this team is struggling to find momentum in a close game and fans give up on them. Don’t give up on them, even if they’re losing. Even if they’re playing bad! I believe you can make a difference. If you only cheer when things are good then you’re a fair weather fan imo.
I was at game 5 the last two years against TB and last night was the loudest it’s ever been when Ive been in the building.
During the lineup announcements it was almost disorienting. Felt surreal.
Read a bit of the GDT when I got home and chuckled at the comment that someone made after Willy’s first goal, stating that it “woke up” the crowd.
The cheers were relentless through most of the game. For hits, stops, fumbled plays, closing the gap - even icing the puck.
Did the difference in game time, 8pm instead of 7pm, help? Give people an extra hour to get downtown, find parking, eat and drink before puck drop, etc. Leafs should take note for next season, if they have any input on scheduling.
Insane crowd! Easily the loudest, most energetic crowd I've ever been apart of.
The whole arena showed up to win.
The intro was insane, it manifested the feeling we were going to war, and it got everyone fired up. Even the anthem was sung louder & prouder than I've ever heard.
As soon as the puck dropped they brought intensity and grit. They all played hard, won a majority of the physical battles, and kept Boston boxed out. The whole team stepped up last night, Domi was buzzing out there.
60 Minutes of no chill, chanting, cheering, and chirping on full blast, I could barely speak the next day. We cheered louder for icing than I've heard for most goals.
Keefe even stated how difficult calling line changes were due to how loud it was.
Such a great crowd last night, we built tons of momentum, threw Boston off their game and contributed everything we had. Now the boys need to take that energy with them to Boston and return home with the victory.
Re-read my post - I’m saying the exact opposite. I think in a lot of cases the fans need to do their best too. If the team is losing so you’re gonna sulk and sook about it rather than rallying, well you better look yourself in the mirror cause you’re doing the exact thing you hate about this team. Get loud when we face adversity. Don’t cower and be afraid.

The crowd stepping up to me is a bi product of the team stepping up. Im not sure if I have seen this level of hockey from the Leafs of this era
I havent either, this is some mid 90/ early 2000s Leafs grit kind of playoff in game 5/6
Sat with two bruin fans beside me, and they tried talking smack about the leafs. That made me even more motivated to scream my head off. Result - currently voiceless but it was so worth it. GLGGGGG
Did they shut up after they chocked?
Saw them leaving with some tears and disappointment. I may have screamed in their ears in excitement during the process.

The loudest that building has been was during the Raptors championship run. Hopefully the boys can show the NHL what this building can sound like.

My voice is in shambles this morning! I literally started the Go leafs Go that got Willy his first goal! Did y'all hear us going SWAAAAAAAYYMANNNNNN.
Yeah I'm wondering if our Swayman chants were coming through on the tv as well. My voice is goooone
We heard a couple
Def did, fiancé was wondering what was being chanted.
it was loud and clear
They definitely did! I was at the square last night and every time we heard it through the broadcast we joined in. Best atmosphere I’ve ever seen at SBA. LETS BRING IT HOME FOR ANOTHER GAME BOYS 💙🍁💙🍁
Yes we heard them all throughout the game
It definitely came through. My group was commenting on it.
Heard it loud and clear, fires me up so much to hear that from our crowd
Ohhh that's what y'all were saying. I thought the chant was swiiiimmmmmmmmmingggg for all the dives.
I was there and definitely joined in on the Swayman chants haha. there were so many of them
Loud and clear! And we were cheering at home along with you guys 💙 !
We did hear loud and clear man, that was great!

Was at the game, and my voice is absolutely wrecked but I cheered my fucking heart and vocal chords out because I got that Passion!!
Did anyone notice how the first period had quite a few empty seats? Did they let people in from outside?
Nah they were just late to get back
Late comers - very common for non-Saturday playoff games.
I was at the game. The crowd was rocking in there. Felt the noise and energy inside of you when they scored. People were going absolutely nuts.
Yea that was the loudest leafs crowd I’ve ever seen, makes an immense difference not only last night but going on the road knowing your fans love you and have faith in the team. On behalf of leafs nation, thank you to every cheering fan in attendance last night.

It seemed loud to me watching on TV. Best SBA crowd of the season to date.

Finally
It was such a beautiful sound! Loved the noise
Off topic, but did anyone else notice how lax they were scanning the fans on entry ? Seemed very odd for such a crowded game.
Yes! They were funneling people fairly quickly as a result with no serious checks.
Tickets were pretty cheap pre game (by that I mean below face value). I wonder if that helped getting some real fans into the building
Ya that’s why. You can’t possibly be that stupid.
Well that’s a little rude 😂 Edit: yeah, just read your post history. Looks like this is just the type of guy you are lol. Have a good rest of your day brother, go leafs go.

Jeez 😂
Type of guy that gets pissed off when people say I’m not a real fan? You best believe it. I don’t hear an apology?
Glad you realized that last comment you left was a bit excessive and deleted it lol. No need to get that offended over something like this.
You still talking?
ew. Dude start taking the go train into work, your road rage is showing. We won, be better, man.
Am I talking to you?

It’s crazy how not losing the entire game leads to increased fan support. This is how leafs fans can be if the team tries for them.

I'm fortunate enough to attend several playoff games a year. I haven't experienced that barn that loud since the Sundin era. It was different level.

Underrated post
Wow its almost like when the team gives them something to cheer for they will, amazing.
