HHWCID is best thought of as belonging to III rather than CODA. It wasn’t on the original CODA and it is a proper b-side from the III sessions, and fits right in with the sound of that album as well.
For me, ITTOD was Led Zeppelin's way into the 1980s. With the tragic death of John Bonham we'll sadly never know what 80s Zep would've been like - but ITTOD still stands as a representation of just how bold the band was.
I happen to love that album anyway. It's my favourite in the Led Zep lineup, closely followed by Physical Graffiti and Led Zep III
hey hey what can I do is from the lziii sessions and long before it was included on coda (it wasn't on the original 1982 release) it was only available as the b-side of immigrant song. in 1990 the track was brought to a wider (and in many cases new) audience with the inclusion on the led zeppelin box set. The track then started getting airplay on radio stations alongside other zep standards. This was also the case with traveling riverside blues, also recently released on the box set. later in the 90s a similar, though less pronounced, phenomenon occurred with the song the girl I love she got long black wavy hair from the bbc sessions release.
it was only in 1993 that hey hey what can I do was included on coda and only on the version sold in the 10 cd complete works box set. the standalone version of the album, with the tracks included in 1993, was not made available until 2008.
I love South Bound Saurez...it received a lot of radio airplay around the time of the release of ITTOD, along with Fool In The Rain & All My Love. A VERY underrated JPJ song! ITTOD is really a very cool album, it's just difficult for me to rate it alongside their earlier efforts. Of course, I love all Zeppelin albums, and my listening habits tend to vary with my moods. There are times when OTTOD & Presence are my favorites, but on the whole it's difficult to escape the sheer brilliance of IV & Physical Graffiti.
I think they're pretty equally great albums, nowhere near their best works. I think In Through the Out Door might have a slight edge though because Roy Harper. But I've been in many cases the only person in a conversation defending ITTOD, so it's definitely an unpopular opinion
Opinions are like assholes.
There are way too many of them and most of them I’ll never cease to understand
Haha I was lying in that last post. Fool in the rain does carry that album though
Liar… LAIR! He L I E D to us!!!! All lies
In the evening
And HotDog carries the album
Since I've been loving you trumps everything!

That would push it into IIIs favor. III is my least favorite of all the albums before ITTOD
Have you listened to it enough? With great headphones? And... a mood.
My ATH -M50x. But I’ll give it another go
bro no please no. Thats the Way? Tangerine? Bron-yr-aur stomp, Since Ive been loving you, Celebration day and IMMIGRANT SONG. nah cmon man
I think *In Through The Out Door* is an excellent album, but the fact that it just has seven tracks just makes it feel inferior to me.
I wish Darlene was included on it :(
You’re on crack
Well, yeah it is - controversial but I don't think it's that big of a deal.

HOW CAN YOU MAKE SUCH A STATEMENT?YOU ARE A BOLD AND VERY WRONG PERSON!
You’re funny

I listen to INTTOR more than HOTH or Presence. Maybe even more than III. Totally dig South Bound Saurez and Carouselambra. Hot Dog is a given.
HOTH is maybe my favorite album. All the songs grew on me a lot. Or physical graffiti

But immigrant song and since I’ve been loving you are miles above anything on ittod.
Out on the Tiles, Bron-Y-Aur Stomp, Gallows Pole!
Hey, Hey, What Can I Do is my favorite Led Zeppelin song. But the only one I really like a whole lot from In Through the Out Door is Fool in the Rain.
Impossible, III is the best album
