People with diabetes can need to use the bathroom more often. My assumption (bc OP wont clarify?) is that they were asking for accomodation for more bathroom breaks and were told to use a depends instead, and then fired when they pushed back.
But sitting closer to the bathroom, as OP clarified was the accomodation they wanted, is reasonable barring other circumstances. OP expanded in a comment after yours.

is is a gender neutral thing? It is a stair issue? Is there not an ADA bathroom? Just not enough room to move the wheelchair around? Is is just a long way from the OPs desk? Is there a key involved that is needed from management? Does OP need to clock out to pee?

What is with companies suddenly making everything an FMLA thing? Work literally just told me one day I was going on FMLA then they fired me when I couldn't prove I needed it. They could have just laid me off, but they made me burn through my personal savings first. Thanks, guys.
