What's the flying saucer thing on the left? Just a random flying saucer hundreds of light-years in diameter?
Noted it in a few pics of the set and it looks a bit odd.
It has several easter eggs like that.
My only complaint about this set is I wish it had a legend in the build pointing them out. There's a bunch of Astronomical objects represented such as The Pleiades and The Pillars of Creation, but you wouldn't know it without reading the instruction manual.
I’m sure there was some method to the madness - like they segmented the photo into a grid and those pieces match the average color in each cell…
…but I don’t think the end product really looks the way they intended.
I mean I have built a lot throughout my life and this one is the best but if your looking into something fun but not as complex I have heard the retro radio is fun to build
I’m a science teacher and so it is my absolute goal to buy this and build it before the school year starts in the Fall so that I can put it up in my room.
The nice thing about this is you're doing a 5x5 plate one at a time so you can space it out! I started mine after we got our new puppy and sometimes only got one plate done in a day 😂 It's a great build-I loved it!
I'm seriously thinking about scooping this up and coaxing the gf into cobuilding it..has anyone installed a light kit in one of these yet? I was thinking of possibly doubling mine as a nightlight in the upstairs hallway at my house for said purposes and also adding a splash of color on the wall as well
The instructions are for 5 separate panels to do one at a time. Each panel has 3 smaller panels to do separately and then you join them altogether to make the the full display.
I'm building my space collection now and this one is definitely on my list. Great job on it!
Thanks!
I like the photo and I like greebling, but the greebling in this particular set just feels strange to me.

Oh it’s cool that it comes with this

Should've been Voyager 1! Don't throw logic at me, it would've been cool as fuck.
Greebling?
All the small pieces of various shapes and sizes to add texture.
Agreed, just greebling with any pieces for no reason? I always felt like the texture was still important on an attractive greeble.
I’m sure there was some method to the madness - like they segmented the photo into a grid and those pieces match the average color in each cell… …but I don’t think the end product really looks the way they intended.
My last Art build felt repetitive even though the end result was amazing. How’s your experience with this one?
I wouldn't call it repetitive, every tile is different.
Almost like a puzzle
Yeah, great comparison.
It was nice every panel was unique so none of it got boring
I just finished mine! https://preview.redd.it/9sv01em5nl5d1.jpeg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=29164a4162d7db44e7077e659f994e2153a9f237
I just finished mine 2 days ago and put it up on my wall. It looks nice
Best build compared to which other sets? I'm looking into buying one, but doesn't look fun to build

The [space shuttle](https://www.lego.com/en-us/product/nasa-space-shuttle-discovery-10283) is absolutely fantastic to build.
Kudos - how long did it take to build?
About 15 hours with help from my wife

This is gorgeous! I love it
Man, I love space, and I love Lego Art sets, but for some reason I just really do not like the look of this one
Absolutely nothing like seeing the completed piece in person.
For real, saw ot in persona at the Lego store and now I kinda want it.
I think I will impulse buy it too. Thanks 💀
I have mine sitting in the closet, I’m working up the energy to work on it.
The nice thing about this is you're doing a 5x5 plate one at a time so you can space it out! I started mine after we got our new puppy and sometimes only got one plate done in a day 😂 It's a great build-I loved it!
Is the orange frog new?
Did you seriously pick an orange frog in those pics? Some good eyes.
I believe so
It’s just perfect.
Im planning on getting this and Some kurzgesagt space posters for my living room wall.
I just know building this set would be stressful because I'd keep dropping tiny parts on the floor and swearing while I went looking for it
How long were you building it? I’m thinking of buying it but I’m not sure if the building time is worth it
If time is a big factor for you the more people who have helping the better
I want this.
I LOVE the side view
I've never wanted an art kit until this one. I want it for my desk at work.
I hope you have a big desk!😂
Huh, kinda? I'll make room!
I am really looking forward to buying this, I hope the price gets somewhere below the current 150€ here in Europe...
I think this set is best admired in person. The photos don't make it attractive
I wish Target would sell this set
Ready to order this when the new GWP goes live!
I'm definitely using the lighting kit when I get mine
I'm currently working on the 4th panel. It is one of my favorite sets, so far. I love the greebling and variety of elements being used.
I have it, and I am really looking forward to building it!!

Ohh that's next on my list
Do the instructions on this specify each "greeble" location?
The instructions are for 5 separate panels to do one at a time. Each panel has 3 smaller panels to do separately and then you join them altogether to make the the full display.
Stupid backordered Lego grrrr
Kids will love playing with that! 🤦🏼♂️
That's fucking amazing!!! Would buy if it was a set!
Well good news it is! It’s called the Milky Way
