Talon has a smaller event venue that's only like $750 but they do run multiple events at the same time on weekends. Spindletop was less than $2000 when I got married but they require you to use their catering, not sure how much that would be. Lyric theater has a room for rent, but it's more of a reception area. Arboretum can be rented out cheaply but it will still be open to the public, and would probably require a second reception area unless they let you use the main building. I remember Buffalo Trace seeming inexpensive at the time. Food, alcohol, and photography will be your biggest expenses no matter what. I did 6 hours of photography, 3k, fed 100 people with BBQ, 3.5k, and then probably 1k on alcohol (my lovely bridal party tipped the bartenders) i think we spent ~13k overall. This was a few years ago now.

organiccheddarduck

Spindle top will cost $12k+

TheKittyPuff

Sadly Buffalo Trace isn't offering weddings anymore. Called them yesterday :/

sometimesballerina

Had my reception at The Lyric theatre. Super affordable but it has no bells or whistles aside from providing tables and chairs. Beautiful venue and great staff.

SherbetOutside1850

Congratulations on your daughter's wedding! But planning a "cheap" wedding with 75 people seems like a tall order. Good luck!

4av9

The Burl on a Saturday afternoon is how I had a wedding and reception and band all at the burl venue. I had the same budget and we made it work.

Bradfinger

Tell them to elope.

heleghir

Venue and catering are massive costs. If you have the wedding on family/friend property (backyard wedding) that cuts out one major cost. Trimming down the menu or doing it yourself cuts out that cost. Back when I did mine a few years ago, with family preparing all of the food, it came out to about $8 per person for all the meat/sides/dessert. Made a 120 person wedding affordable

LexDude

There are cheap venues in town. Your issue is probably the catering

marchcrow

Depends on how far you're willing to travel and how big the event is. Some details would be helpful.

Melodic-Switch-6535

I edited. We’re willing to travel anywhere in or around in KY.

Inner-Inspection8201

Does anybody do church fellowship halls anymore? Feels like, if you could go without booze (and maybe you can't. Fair enough.) But, it used to be that's all we did. Church wedding, reception in the fellowship hall. Idk. Maybe ppl aren't religious, but a pretty church makes great photos.

masterz13

Simple -- do a free courthouse wedding and do a cheap reception 5 years later when the money is saved up. I'd rather have that money go toward a nice honeymoon or down payment of a house / pay off debts than a wedding any day.

marchcrow

Bernheim has a small venue, not sure if they include catering and the like though. It's gorgeous out there.

mdbenson

Spindletop isn’t bad. Just have to use their catering.

Here4it_24

I would reach out to Simply Love Studio. She is a wedding concierge and works to help brides/families work within their budget to meet their needs. She has venue and vendor recommendations. When I say you won’t regret reaching out to her, I truly mean it. She saved my wedding and helped us stay within budget. I’m so so so thankful I met with her.

Puzzleheaded-Farm417

I worked with her too! I couldn’t believe her services were free. I highly recommend reaching out to her!

vpreacher

When we got married ten years ago, Buffalo Trace only charged $500 to use their venue. You had to provide everything. They tend to book out far in advance. We had to get married on a Friday.

Melodic-Switch-6535

I got married there myself but I guess they aren’t doing weddings anymore. 🥲

vpreacher

Aw, I guess we got in before the bourbon boom.

AngWoo21

Check Wildside Winery in Versailles

jdhunt_24

try echo valley vineyards in flemingsburg ky. they had a whole wedding hall and everything and was doing that stuff. i dont know their prices and availability and stuff but they had a really nice place.

Inner-Inspection8201

www.apracticalwedding.com saved me.

emb8n00

I only had 25 guests but I used My Tiny Wedding and had a beautiful ceremony at Red River Gorge and then they did photography and catering too so I only had to pay one vendor for everything and it was around 5k

Orion14159

It was a LONG while ago but Signature Club on Lansdowne was nowhere near $10k when I looked at it

ariadnha

January - April Friday $3,000 Saturday $4,500 Sunday $2,500 May - December Friday $4,000 Saturday $5,500 Sunday $3,750

scuba_tron

Got married at One Oak Farm in Nicholasville. I think total cost was like $14k. We had food and booze catered by Bella Notte and rented a tent

foldthecheesedavid

Definitely do more research on venues. The smaller places don’t advertise like the more expensive ones. I got married 6 months ago and found lots of cheaper venues in surrounding counties that can accommodate 75 people. There is a FB group called “Kentucky Wedding Advice, Resale, & Vendor Services” that is incredibly helpful. Also, Lexington has a few buildings they rent out by the hour! You can find them [here](https://www.lexingtonky.gov/indoor-facilities) We stayed around $10k but our biggest expenses were the venue, catering, and booze with bartenders. I was fortunate enough to have a good friend be my photographer for free. We used Red State BBQ for catering and fed 125 people for about $1500 and I highly recommend them!

Aromatic-Display854

The Bell House is pretty affordable

LexDude

Yea it’s not. It’s super expensive

LexDude

My mistake I was thinking of The Round Barn. That’s super expensive.

Dark_Phoenix_0

When are you looking and are you saying wedding? I work with a caterer and event services company and the minute you say wedding the price goes up. Just say catered event and it can save you some cash!

willymo

Bands/DJ's most definitely do the same. But I don't think this trick would apply - they wouldn't be quite so accommodating once they found out it was actually a wedding and they were being mislead lol.

terry_macky_chute

LPT

birdydeegee4

Look at Epping's for the reception. Also, the Red River Gorge! https://www.eventsbyjennylea.com/the-greenhouse-at-appalachian-rose-farm This place is new so I have no idea how much it is but maybe worth a call.

loreandhoney

I had a nice wedding for 10k but I only invited 20 guests. Venus are expensive, but food is even more so. I had to buy roughly 25 meals.

[deleted]

Thank You for the question!  when i tigh off the knot i am taking the familys to a beach resort so i am also interested in this this

[deleted]

Years ago I happened upon a wedding being set up at [High Bridge Park](https://jessamineco.com/community-services/high-bridge-pavilion/) and have to say it seems like a really nice location. Beautiful area.

nerdspartying

Literally planning a wedding right now with a budget of 10k. Highly recommend having a reception at a bar. You can have a minimum to spend without having to buy all the shit yourself. No concerns about over or under buying. DM me if you want extra info.

TheRealDreaK

Venues are available fairly cheap in Lexington, for instance through Parks & Rec, but you have to rent stuff like linens and plates which adds to the cost. Catering and booze is the budget-breaker. You’ll easily spend your entire budget on food and booze unless you’re going with pizza and a cash bar. I once went to a wedding in a state park in NC that had a hot dog bar for the catering, and no liquor license so we drank out of the trunk of the car. It was… unique.

Jqf27

Lyric Theater! We had about 80 people and we easily got out for under 10k! It was beautiful in the winter!! Also great photo opportunities and your name on the marquee!

PuzzleheadedSir6616

Berry Hill Mansion in Frankfort is a steal.

Shamble7

White Hall Estate in Richmond was pretty cheap! I believe they include catering and whatnot too.

idealist700

Sent a DM!

sumskiesss

YEP. This is our same issue. Finding a venue for less than 5k is damn near impossible. I would rather take 5k & splurge on a Vegas elopement, but my future husband really wanted a wedding, but is so stressed about the money.

kentuckylover

Check in with Waveland and Henry Clay's estate. VI got married at Waveland and they worked really well with us!

lootz44

I believe West Sixth Farm in Frankfort advertised they host weddings.

Ididit-notsorry

Check out Waveland State Historic Park.

RedSawks76

Check out Clerestory at Greyline station. They supply bartenders and alcohol. If you are not set on plated meals, check out getting a food truck or popup (TukTuk, RiseUp, SRO, etc)
