Cat urine is tough to remove from memory foam. You might try an enzymatic cleaner specifically for pet stains, as they break down the urine molecules. It's worked for me in the past. You may need to reapply a few times and let it air out thoroughly.

MyWibblings

Sorry. -this is why you use waterproof mattress protectors on expensive mattresses.

Feelsthelove

I actually use two on mine. One covers the whole mattress and zips up and one is like a regular sheet. Not that there is a lot of waterworks going on in my bed. I’m just too lazy to peel my mattress like a banana all the time

diverareyouokay

Also, check the underside of the mattress whenever you wash your sheets. Over time, the waterproof layer will degrade where people sleep. Most of the time that just means the mattress will get a little dirty and discolored, but situations like OP’s, it can be a lot more serious.

Extension-Stick-2466

Yeah that was the plan is to get one and now here we are lol. I have one on my daughter’s bed but it sucks and always leaks through. So if you have any suggestions I’d appreciate it!

MyWibblings

It is hard to find one that is really waterproof but also doesn't sound and feel like plastic. My mattress came with one they bundled because I have a weird shape. KingNex brand. plaudite_cives

nah, memory foam never forgets ;)

classicicedtea

Dad?

Accomplished_Side_33

I’m afraid you have to throw it away.

SubsequentDamage

The cat, right?

Extension-Stick-2466

Haha that cat is here to stay!

PresOfTheLesbianClub

The nose.

badDuckThrowPillow

Yup. Having a cat is voluntarily signing up for having an asshole to constantly cause you stress, work and annoyance. Plus you get the privilege of paying for everything it needs AND medication if you're even a little allergic. No thanks

Extension-Stick-2466

My cats a sweet guy I think he’s just not feeling well. So I have a vet appointment set up. But he’s still worth it to keep around.

snowbythesea

Thank you ❤️

marryyland

Mine is being kept in the bathroom right now because SHE WONT QUIT PEEING ON MY COUCHES and ALL OF MY THROW BLANKETS. She doesn’t have a uti, and her litter box is clean. Confirming that cats are assholes.

Illustrious_Crow_416

I have two of them and they.are 😭

Illustrious_Crow_416

Can confirm.

Strawberryfun84

We used Resolve urine destroyer on a memory foam mattress it removed the cat pee smell and the stain.

dopaminemachina

Urine enzyme remover and rent a wet vac if you don’t have one. I would try the following: Diluted dish soap water, spray bottle on the pee stain. Wet vac. 2-3x Pet urine enzyme cleaner, spray on and follow directions. Let it sit for however long the instructions say. Wet vac and then spray again, preferably overnight. Then spray dish soap water again morning come. Wet vac. Then water, then wet vac. Finish off with a layer of baking soda overnight and then vacuum. You can buy a uv light and see how much of it is left. It was horrible the first time I tried it after my cat had some temporary behavioral issues. Fortunately, I managed to get the smell out. After a week.

Extension-Stick-2466

Thank you! I did a similar process so this makes me hopeful the smell will go away. Drenching the spot with peroxide seems to be doing the trick for now.

cworthdynamics

I had a cat that would often go outside the box, tried everything and the only thing that worked 100% for me was X-O - I get the full strength and dilute it as directed. It's a bit strong smelling at first but will dissipate.

lexylu79

What is x-o-?

cworthdynamics

Brand name of odor remover.

wolfwell69

Try Natures Miracle

DamyuKidds

Came here to say this. No matter what you use, cat urine odor cannot be removed completely without an enzyme, or the stench will last longer than the Bronze Age. Nature's Miracle is the bomb.

arden13

Our cat did this on a leesa mattress while we were on vacation. I nearly threw out the cat. We used a Bissell carpet cleaner with a hand attachment to be able to pull the liquid out. Then we sprayed deeply with soapy water and extracted 2-3x. Afterwards vinegar, let it sit, and pulled it out. Then another soapy solution. It pulled out almost all of the scent. If you jammed your nose in the area you could smell it just barely so we flipped the mattress over and let it air out a month or so. I'm happy to say it doesn't smell anymore. We bought a waterproof mattress cover.

Extension-Stick-2466

Thank you! I’ve been using my bissell carpet cleaner on it too and applied a vinegar/ dish soap mixture. I think I finally got rid of the smell with some peroxide! It has a very faint smell but I have it air drying with a fan on it. So hopefully that does the trick.

arden13

Ultimately the faint remainder was only cleared with time. You've done a lot, and I think you'll save the mattress, but give it time to fully dissipate. As someone with a boy cat with urine issues... I feel for you. Good luck!

someone_sometwo

bring it outside in the morning, make sure it isnt going to rain. bacause it just takes longer to dry. It's best to put it on some chairs (2 to 4) or support, so it isn't on the ground or on a table you want it kind of free standing in the air. and soak the stained area with water with your hose. insert dawn dish soap.  suds it up good. rinse for like 10 - 15 minutes, or as needed.  concentrate on the stain location but make sure the water flows out, so the cat urine isnt just moving to another part of the mattress. flush it out.   then let it sit in the sun to dry, theives oil also helps, if the smell is lingering.   You may have to flip the mattress once or twice to dry both sides. this heat should help it dry. it may take two days to dry.   Bring it in at night and store it in your garage or something and bring it back out the next morning if it didn't dry during day one.

someone_sometwo

this works for dog and child pee, cat pee might be stubborn. but the technique may still be valuable as a tip.

DrexXxor

Casper has a refund option by donating the mattress..

capkellcat

I've never tried on memory foam but on couch cushions. I take baking soda, add lemon essential oil, and shake it to mix. It usually has a pretty strong smell. I then coat the pee area with it and leave it overnight. After that, I vacuum it up, and it's worked every time so far! Thankfully, I haven't had to try it for a while now, but yeah. It works for me and is super simple to make.

r_chard_40

i found oxyclean worked well to get cat urine smell out of my carpet or clothes, however, I never tried on a mattress. Dissolve some oxyclean in a nebulizing spray bottle and spray down the area. Not a guarantee, but worth a try.

Extension-Stick-2466

Thank you I’ll give this a try!

fractalkid

Naughty car!

coolplate

It's prolly trash but you can try this. Soak it in bac-out, seal it in a mattress bag for a couple days so the enzymes can soak thru and I'm eating the pee, then let sit out in the sun a few days to dry

AuntieLaLa420

Cat Odor-Off from Odorcide. This stuff is good!

eileen404

Friend has this problem and had to soak it in the cat pee enzyme stuff. If you're in the northern hemisphere you're lucky it's a hot summer so you can put it outside to dry

Aggressive-Article41

Clean it the best you can put a mattress protector on top of it with some dryer sheets underneath will at least get rid of the smell.

lovetyrannicalreddit

I used baking soda and vinegar and that worked for me.

leeeeny

You could try pouring an enzymatic cleaner (Natures miracle) directly on the spot and have it soak down. Should at least get rid of the smell

UnderstandingTrue463

Once you think you have it removed, I would suggest doing a lot of mescaline and tripping balls on the mattress. If it’s still there at all you will smell it.

Economy_Sandwich

Get a new mattress.

ConradChilblainsIII

No. I am very sorry to say that - cat pee gave me a nervy b at one point. It’s inescapable.

MossyRock0817

Kiss it goodbye my friend. I just threw away a whole 8x10 rug because nothing can remove the smell. I had it professionally cleaned. They laughed at me. Literally. My cats did too.

justnotthatwitty

Try the product My Pet Peed. It actually works as it says it does.

Alive_Ice7937

Just buy a bottle of cat urine at the store cheapskate.

Any-Effort3199

Natures Miracle

Peterchamps

Try baking soda and soda water. You apply on the stain, let it sit for a minute and after you put a towel to absorb the liquid. Did that with a coffee stain once and it worked
