Its not like it incentivise using themed teams so you can abuse gifts, meaning you aren't as likely to have answer to **random** events that show up, asking for random sins you might not have.
Well in that case, the latter can be solved with Cinq Outis. Her S3 is Lust and rolls very high.
The former can be solved with Tingtang Hong Lu (actually he works for both, S2 is Lust and rolls above average and S3 is a 30 Gluttony)

There are few IDs that can do it, but that's the idea.
It's an event for a tier 4 EGO gift, unless you have the specific IDs that can do it, you will not get the incredibly powerful effects.
Why do you expect to always be able to win these? By the nature of something like a roguelite dungeon crawler (which md3 is) sometimes you are put in positions where you can't do everything you may want.
Normally, I will always bring my ting tang Hong Lu in case of encountering this kind of situation, but this dungeon encourages you to switch team every run and stuck with the same team for the whole dungeon, so yeah, those rolls are really unreasonable

Yep, pretty fucky. I got it yesterday as the first event without even having 45sp, lost, decided oh well I'm not dealing with negative Sanity right now and rerolled.
Honestly I wouldn't even mind the high rolls if the penalty wasn't so harsh and the rewards were better. Thorny Path is only for sinking teams, you can either gain or loose 60 cost or gain/loose HP and SP. Which you'd gain less than you loose.
I think the Cost 60 is a slap in the face. You can gain that amount or you can loose that amount, but if you wanted Cost and had the correct affinities you'd be better off rolling Thorny Path. Sells for more and you don't loose cost if you loose.
Both of these events gives you a tier 4 gift if you win it, the best tier of ego gift outside lunar memory. Of course it should be a bit hard getting them.

Buffs to coin power does not factor in these Sin affinity checks. W Don for example has a limit of 11 for her S3 despite being able to hit 31.

No advantage is 34. No ID can roll 34.

Its almost like this entire coin roll of an idea is wrong. Its not fun. Its either too easy or impossible.
Base Outis, G corp Outis, Cinq outis, and Molar outis can clear this iirc. Theres a lot of others as well that arent outis
