This subreddit is to highlight the ridiculous cost of living in Canada, and poke fun at the Corporate Overlords responsible. As you well know, there are a number of persons and corporations responsible for this, and we welcome discussion related to them all. Furthermore, since this topic is intertwined with a number of other matters, other discussion will be allowed at moderator discretion. Open-minded discussion, memes, rants, grocery bills, and general screeching into the void is always welcome in this sub, but belligerence and disrespect is not. There are plenty of ways to get your point across without being abusive, dismissive, or downright mean.

Theres too many of these pictures popping up, these stores are becoming dangerously understaffed and undertrained to have this much spoilage. It should be forwarded to the health department.
I worked at an Atlantic superstore a few years back and was told to sift through the meat to check “face” the close to expiry stuff near the top. Found a TON of expired bacon and stuff near the bottom lol. I also remember vividly a coworker of mine saying “yeah you don’t need to do the temp checks, you can just write down roughly what they’re supposed to be”. Like??? No lol, horrible training, I only lasted 3 months before I packed up and left
>dangerously understaffed and undertrained to have this much spoilage
Could be that or could be the department or store manager saying "hey don't throw that out, we can still sell it"
Please refrain from comments which encourage theft from a store or mischief. These can result in criminal charges which will undoubtedly make life harder for other users.
Browned meat isn’t necessarily unsafe to eat, and isn’t necessarily even very old. The only scandal in this picture is the overpriced meat, not the fact that stores discount safe but less desirable food
The regular price for the bacon wasn't even that expensive, $6.00 for 500 grams. It was the condition of the bacon that surprised me, even with the 30% discount. I didn't know that about meat though, and I'm a big fan of their Nuturally Imperfect line of produce. I guess I'm just so used to meat looking a certain way that anything appearing "questionable" freaks me out.
Yeah, I'm super skeevish about meat and how it looks, but the truth is they'd probably throw shit that looks like this on the griddle at McDonald's or wherever and you'd never know.

I find it depressing that things have gotten so bad there are people willing to buy discoloured meat just to save some money.
30% off the price with free maggots?
If there are any they consider that food, so the discount goes back to 10%
😂
Still wouldn’t buy it. Get twice the bacon for nearly half the price at Costco from a name brand. Fuck you roblaws!
Did you see the color of that bacon??? That shouldn’t be sold
It's the same colour as Voldemort
30% off what? The survival rate?
It's not worth the 30% more chance of getting sick
I wouldn't even take it if they offered it to me for free
Yeah same, I don't like the color..
Oh it's *off* alright.
Boy, and I thought my front lawn was brown.
Every time someone sees this, they should call the local health department. A few inspections will stop the practice of them selling spoiled food.
Just leave it there for galen,he'll eat this before crow
barfffffffffffff
🤮🤢
Omg
Not because it's rotten, it's 30% because they opened it and took a third of the bacon out!
I had to notify an employee a few weeks ago that they had yogurt that expired in february on the shelves, and those weren’t even on sale!
I thought these pricks were going back to 50% off?
AND 30% SMALLER...

Make your own bacon. It's cheaper and better.
Best before date of Christmas 2023?
I never buy this extra aged version, but I find myself staring at it in fascination and then check to see if anything is moving.
Probably ran over it with the pump truck
This is why I get my bacon from giant Tiger.
Ah the grey death meat. A delicacy.

Only 30% off too much money to start with, for food that may or may not still taste ok even if it won't harm you, is insulting.

Us rich just order online from Loblaws.
You really have the dumbest shit to say on every post
I know. It keeps me going.
Don't let life give you any hope.
Need a gun to end it.
What if they send you this bacon?
