Wow then I love the processing, I was almost certain these were being shot on legit Fuji Velvia/Portra stock.
Can you do a quick 5 sec dive into the post process and grading?
Here's my guess on how he processed his photos:
First desaturate things a fair bit. Then pump the saturation on the primaries only. That way primary colors pop, especially relative to the rest of the scene with middle values. Look at the weirdly saturated bits of red/orange in the first photo to get an idea of what's going on wrt to selectively saturating the colors.
The color saturation isn't as elegant as negative film like Provia, but I can definitely see that look as an inspiration for what he's doing here.
Some green or magenta tint depending on the photograph. Touch of Gaussian blur to give it a softer film camera look too.
Pull back highlights (highlight recovery) and crush the shadows to create contrast.
That's my analysis. How'd I do OP u/barz ?
Nice analysis! On the right track but not quite! Firstly, I don't have a standard workflow that I apply to my edits for various reasons. So an edit could be:
First and foremost, I apply any camera profiles from the RAW and apply lens corrections. This is to try to match the colour of the image as close to what it looked like in the viewfinder. This is followed by cropping. Next I get the white balance correct and then the exposure so I will play with the basic sliders. Nothing too extreme.
Once the WB and exposure is close to where I want it (but not perfect yet. Leave room to play later!) I play with tone curves a lot (been using curves more and more over time) then the B/W tone curve and also the other one with the squiggly line(not sure what it's called in LR) to further enhance the lighting. This is usually a balancing act between basic sliders and the b/w tone curve to get the desired look.
Next I may play with the HSL sliders and possibly the colour grading (sometimes save colour grading for near the end).
I don't use PS to add any glow. It's all done in LR. I may recude clarity and haze globally to the picture or by using various masking methods (maybe just brush, maybe others, depends on the context)
I actually hardly ever use PS for editing!
Add your grain, vignette or whatever you feel like adding, more masking if needed (masking can be a whole other topic tbh)
Finally, I may calibrate the colours to really dial in those reds greens and blues.
Final adjustments here and there and boom. You're done!
Hope this helps! :)
Absolutely agree! Finding high-quality photography posts on Reddit feels like discovering hidden gems. Congrats on standing out with your fantastic work!
Reddit city photography posts where the entire comment sections isn’t anger towards the photographer for taking random peoples photos who no one is going to search, find, look for, or obsess over. Now that’s a rarity.
Maybe you just don’t look down, because I have plenty of memories of seeing barefooted people there lol.
There is literally a barefooted woman in one of those pictures as proof that it happens too.
How would leaving a comment like this even be productive or efficient for karma farming?
Well its legal since its in public. Also not creepy because there is no nefarious purpose behind.
Some of the people in the pictures may not like it. But that's also a price they pay in order to live in a free society.
Looks good!
Have you thought about shooting on film? Your processing seems to be trying to look like shots taken on film, so I'd give it a go! You will get your desired output, but naturally.
Plus film is awesome.
Wow! These are so wonderfully staged OP!! (Idk if staged is the right word. I mean how this thing frames it and that thing catches your eye. The layout or composition or something. Idk. But this feels more like art than ‘just’ great photography which I’ve never actually seen on Reddit before. You’re **exceptionally** talented OP!
Thank you! I think for some pictures it's all about the critical moment(think I just made that up) but not just capturing a scene, but something significant that defines the scene. The defining moment like in picture one with the police man pointing down at the guy on the ground. It really encapsulates that moment well (in my opinion). That's what I hold out for sometimes!
Is this for real? If so, that's crazy! As the photographer of that pic, your comment makes me feel.....im not sure how to describe it, but its a good, yet sombering feeling!
Nice job. I dabble in some street photography as well and know exactly where that second shot was taken as I have a shot looking the opposite way of someone smoking near those bins on the right.
was my first time going down that alley way. I was actually going to shoot in the direction you mentioned, but decided to turn the other way. the Natwest sign and the underground sign post create a cross section in the centre of the frame which was nice!
A somber moment where I forget everything around me and just inspect the photo in earnest. What is going on, who are they, why are they there.
Thanks, my friend.
This style of art is becoming a problem bc it looks too similar to what AI art are producing. All these pics look AI, not OPs fault but should keep that in mind
Looks to me like the colours have been washed out and grained and HDR applied, some pictures look outright the aggressive bloom you see in computer games. It's sort of an opposing force of simultaneous quality degradation and over-processing, hence it intuitively seems "off".
This perfectly captures that feeling when it's an endless hot summer in london and you feel like you're living in a movie. the entire series reminds me of the summer of 2022, and all the memories in my mind feel and look like that
The UN Economic Commission for Europe (ie. a tiny portion of the UN) defined forested land as:
>Land spanning more than 0.5 hectares with trees higher than 5 meters and a canopy cover of more than 10 percent, or trees able to reach these thresholds in situ. It does not include land that is predominantly under agricultural or urban land use.
I don't fault you for simplifying it, but when I tried to google that claim, I found that the first result was the Evening Standard, they'd copied that word for word but cut out the last sentence. Twats
Also according to London Tree Officers' Assosiation, London has 21.87% tree cover.
I was considering buying the book “Pond” by Claire-Louise Bennett after finishing my other book this morning, and now seeing it in image 3 I feel like some cosmic force is telling me to go back in and buy it. 😂 Probably not the impact your pictures were intended to have, but they’ve changed my life in a small way today.
same for the woman on the phone. and all those other people too tbh
i sure don't want to show up on some random dudes "street photography" reddit post without my consent
Its just photo journalism. Also, there are no identifiable features of the subject (who was being arrested) so its completely anonymous so I don't agree with your statement but appreciate the feedback regardless!
I was down the Old King's Yard yesterday going to a hospital appointment at Guy's! Not me in the photo though 🤣
Meaning to pop in to the pub next time...
As someone who's lived in London for half a year back in 2017, this takes me back! A sense of nostalgia, and it actually makes me homesick. You have such iconic shots that I swear I've seen some in real life! You did an excellent job in capturing a 'real' London. I appreciate that.
Good work!
Number 5 is stunning.
Number 9 is on Strand, west of Fleet St where the opening of Children of Men was filmed, and you've just captured it all perfectly. If you've never seen it, give it a go. Perfect film, and what you see in London in your photos is almost parallel with it.
Well done.
Your 2nd photo I like a lot. I am not into much art or photos. But that second photo is sick. It reminds me of playing crusader kings 3. For some reason really like it and I am not sure why.

Nice work. Reminds me of photos taken with a Holga; so much play in all of the photos. I really like what’s going on with all the layers of reflection in the car? window.
Really really good composition. As good as anyone in some, especially the first 5 or so.
But correct exposure and focus could take them to the next level.

Reddit photography posts that aren't total trash are rare, congrats.
That means a lot. Thank you! For those asking my IG is bstar.photography_
I love the color of the 80s,90s. which filter are you using? or camera settings? thanks. edit: 4,5,8,13,16 amazing work on those pictures.
No filter. All post! Mix of cameras and lenses too. Thank you!
Mind if you share the used equipment?
A7iV, sometimes with 28-75mm f2.8, sometimes with 24mm vintage lens. Also Ricoh GRIII X

Came here to criticize the filters. Walked away impressed with the dedication to the craft.
Dude plug your Instagram, original content on Reddit deserves to be rewarded
Absolutely agree! Finding high-quality photography posts on Reddit feels like discovering hidden gems. Congrats on standing out with your fantastic work!

I've never been to London is it always slightly browned with sepia tone?
I can think of a few times when we’ve had weird weather and it’s actually looked sepia toned. It feels really odd and oppressive.
Red hot red girl in red dress on Reddit.
Were you admiring the photography, or were you staring at the woman in the red dress? Look again
The girl walking barefoot is brave
I’d happily break my ankles if it meant I didn’t have to touch the pavement bleh
I have broken both my ankles. I'd rather touch the pavement.
You need to walk barefoot in London in a red dress before you can make that claim please
Dont worry she's from The Matrix.
"Are you listening to me, Neo? Or were you looking at the women in the red dress?"
I looked. A lot of people looked. That's why I was looking for this comment 😅
You can wash your feet, unbreaking ankles is harder
Have you ever walked in heels? 😮💨
Plenty of times, it gets sore quick
I’ve seen plenty of people walk barefoot in London. Don’t think it’s that big a deal.
Dude are you fucking tripping. I lived in London, no one would ever walk barefoot in the city. Ever. The whole thing reeks of karma farming bs.
Maybe you just don’t look down, because I have plenty of memories of seeing barefooted people there lol. There is literally a barefooted woman in one of those pictures as proof that it happens too. How would leaving a comment like this even be productive or efficient for karma farming?
Lady in red 🎶
Reminds me of Deborah Ann Woll.
There’s a fine line between brave and stupid
Are you listening to me, Neo? Or were you looking at the woman in the red dress?
I'll bet people make her put shoes on to come into their house
Is this the walk of shame Ive heard about?
Nah looks like buddy in a suit is waiting for her

Well its legal since its in public. Also not creepy because there is no nefarious purpose behind. Some of the people in the pictures may not like it. But that's also a price they pay in order to live in a free society.
These are terrific. Great work
Thank you
These are bloody beautiful. I love your work. The one with the little boy and the puddle is gorgeous!
Looks like the Green Park, very prone to puddles.
Looks good! Have you thought about shooting on film? Your processing seems to be trying to look like shots taken on film, so I'd give it a go! You will get your desired output, but naturally. Plus film is awesome.
Yes, I own a few film cameras. Just too expensive to develop unfortunately :(
To be fair they’ve done well, I thought it was film til I read your comment
how did you know he wasn't shooting on film? what gave it away? what do you mean by processing? - amateur photographer
Went in expecting so so. But honestly these show a good eye. Well done
Wow! These are so wonderfully staged OP!! (Idk if staged is the right word. I mean how this thing frames it and that thing catches your eye. The layout or composition or something. Idk. I love the photo you took of the man sat down with his iced coffee, his tattoos and the graffiti look so similar. Lovely photos.
My dad is in the hackney downs photo (7th photo)😭😭 i aint seen that fucker in years man
Is this for real? If so, that's crazy! As the photographer of that pic, your comment makes me feel.....im not sure how to describe it, but its a good, yet sombering feeling!
at least he's alive lol😂
How tf can you tell if that's him or not, it's just a black bald guy. Can't even see his face.
Were you listening to me, Neo, or were you looking at the woman in the red dress?
*tasty wheat*
Nice job. I dabble in some street photography as well and know exactly where that second shot was taken as I have a shot looking the opposite way of someone smoking near those bins on the right.

Recognised King’s Head Yard instantly. Great pictures, thank you.
The 5th pic is my favourite. Of the few pics I’ve seen of London I don’t recall seeing one like that
A somber moment where I forget everything around me and just inspect the photo in earnest. What is going on, who are they, why are they there. Thanks, my friend.
Why do you have a vintage filter over all of them?
Love these, is 16 London Fields?
the city of Stress
From these pictures it really doesn't look that much different than America
Good framing but a little over processed IMO.
A bit? OP slid the grain and HDR filter all the way to the top on seemingly every photo...
This style of art is becoming a problem bc it looks too similar to what AI art are producing. All these pics look AI, not OPs fault but should keep that in mind
he trying to give London a bit of extra sparkle..
There’s always one who says this
He isnt wrong
good comment but over thought IMO
And feedback like this is important, especially if you want to improve as a photographer or as any other kind of artist.
Instagram wants their filters back
I like the framing on #3 but I want to see a picture of him taking it lol
... I think it's a film camera or at least some film simulation.
Looks to me like the colours have been washed out and grained and HDR applied, some pictures look outright the aggressive bloom you see in computer games. It's sort of an opposing force of simultaneous quality degradation and over-processing, hence it intuitively seems "off".
Just want to say that I've been following you since your first post of this kind and I always love your photos. You really have something
Do you sell these as prints? You should if not!
[удалено]
Thank you so much!
#16 is just Frodo leaving the Shire for the first time.
Captured it perfectly 👌🏻
Where is image 5?
I'm not OP but that's outside the Stolenspace gallery on Osborn street
pictures are very impressive but their content looks rather grim
Why the sixties filter to make it all seem nostalgic? Gotta use the urban depressive filter
You couldn’t pay me enough to walk barefoot in the street.
Brick lane one is wicked
Great pictures, i love your series.

Nice to see an old DBK dub.
Some of these are quite amazing.
Thanks for sharing! Really enjoyed flicking through these. I fancy looking at them in more detail as a coffee table book. Any plans?
Need more filters!
London feels so gritty and dull with just random bursts and splashes of liveliness
Did you sneak up to someone in a hammock and stick your camera in for that photo?
I'd dial down the filters/color correction a little bit, but otherwise great.
215-896-9740
how did you get in someone's hammock?
Step 1: Date someone with a hammock Step 2: Get in said hammock Step 3: ??? Step 4: Profit
I’m not a fan of heavily editing colours, personally. Nice shots though
Makes me think London kidsh sucks
This perfectly captures that feeling when it's an endless hot summer in london and you feel like you're living in a movie. the entire series reminds me of the summer of 2022, and all the memories in my mind feel and look like that
The woman in red! Follow the rabbit!
I like the photos, but find the grading over-the-top.
Lovey shots! 2nd photo has a great pub on the left side.
Is it The George?
Amazing photos, keep doing what you do you’ve got a great eye and real talent with a camera 👌
Appreciate it very much :)
What kinda camera are you using?
Mix of Sony A7IV with a few different lenses (28-75mm and 24mm) and a Ricoh GRIII X
Are you using any practical filters or are you mostly working in post?
No filters (except maybe UV filter. All edited in post
So nice! Your London looks like my London :)
excellent
Concrete jungle
Fun fact. London's tree density is high enough to classify it as a forest by the UN's definition. These are some awesome photographs!
The UN Economic Commission for Europe (ie. a tiny portion of the UN) defined forested land as: >Land spanning more than 0.5 hectares with trees higher than 5 meters and a canopy cover of more than 10 percent, or trees able to reach these thresholds in situ. These are amazing!
These are great. Timeless.
So London is basically Philadelphia? EDIT: Or I guess Philadelphia is basically London, considering which came first.
Pic 1 is a bit intrusive. Presumably he’s being arrested or having a medical episode. Bit unnecessary.
same for the woman on the phone. and all those other people too tbh i sure don't want to show up on some random dudes "street photography" reddit post without my consent

Very nice framing and light, my favorite out of the bunch 👏
Love these - thanks for posting.
Where is location 4?
what camera / lenses do you use if I may ask?
Sony a7iv and Ricoh gr3x, no filters, all RAW, all done in post
I love the style!
Great work.
Brilliant
I really love number 2 👍
Love the pictures and the 80s/90s vibe feel to them
👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
How do you get them to have that soft glow? It's like a dream sequence out of a movie or something.
I was down the Old King's Yard yesterday going to a hospital appointment at Guy's! Not me in the photo though 🤣 Meaning to pop in to the pub next time...

This is so on the money, beautiful work.
That first shot gave me chills. Bravo.
Really great photos. Do you tell/ask people when they are close and in your frame? Wish you’d do some in Philadelphia!
Numba 5
Queue-in “On melancholy Hill” fits the pictures’ vibe quite well
Brilliant work, you clearly have style you are going for and you pull it off really well, I love the guy with the wet floor sign 😀
Ha I know the guys in picture 4. Great work OP.
Jeez number 10 is bold. Barefooting it in a city internationally notorious for its piss-soaked streets.
Brilliant pictures! Getting late 90s - early 2000s vibes from them.
I've seen that girl in the red dress. She's not real Neo. She's the distraction.
amazing clicks! i am glad you still holding on your phone/camera 🥹
Excellent work
Been taking photos all my life. These are insanely good!
lady in red reminds me of that one matrix scene. a few pictures i really like (like the 1st and 3rd)
The processing makes it feel very 80s/90s. I like it
Somehow they look like their from the 90s or something.
Pics 3, 10, and 16 are my favourite. Lovely capture
These are great!
Fuck walking barefoot in London
The girl is the red dress is not real neo! Nice photos love the composition especially the hammock and the one with the gherkin in the background
Number 5 is stunning. Number 9 is on Strand, west of Fleet St where the opening of Children of Men was filmed, and you've just captured it all perfectly. If you've never seen it, give it a go. Perfect film, and what you see in London in your photos is almost parallel with it. Well done.
Slide 5 feels super dystopian / Cyberpunk to me. Love it
This is so good. It never disappoints
Wow, you got some serious photography talents. Amazing pictures
This is nice, I enjoyed it. 🫶🏼
New Vivian Maier London edition just dropped
More of red please
This is really cool. What kind of camera are you using?
I thought these were AI
Apologies if someone has said it but.. picture 5 Bodies?
Very cool. Thanks for sharing!
Great work
Your 2nd photo I like a lot. I am not into much art or photos. But that second photo is sick. It reminds me of playing crusader kings 3. For some reason really like it and I am not sure why.
Pic No.2... is that by London Bridge? The little Italian place which turns into a den of iniquity on a Thur and Fri night? Brrrrrr. Memories best left forgotten, but they just came flooding back!
A beautiful, dynamic trip through the city! How lovely, this is extra special for someone like me who has never been! Thank you for sharing friend🩷
Nice work. Reminds me of photos taken with a Holga; so much play in all of the photos. I really like what’s going on with all the layers of reflection in the car? window.
5 is really phenomenal, stands out amongst a lot of great photos.
Awesome album of photos mate
I love it. Very slice of life William eggleston vibes.
Great work!
The third one: holyshit
These are really, really good. Do you sell prints?
So does my friend Matt and these look similarly styled. Very nice.
Is it really this ugly and depressing?
I love your angles. Great shots!
Really really good composition. As good as anyone in some, especially the first 5 or so. But correct exposure and focus could take them to the next level.
Please when and where was picture 8 taken oh my god
