Harbes family farm is amazing.

CardiganandTea

Yep that's where we go, too. Jamesport location still has apple picking (although the weather wreaked havoc on the orchard this year.) They'll love it. Fun for little kids and older.

donabbi

Stakey's in Aquebogue is by far the best you're going to do for pumpkin picking. Waterdrinker has more fun stuff for kids though.

Bailee_4

second Stakeys!!

Just got home from Schmidt’s farm in Melville. My grandson is only 14 months but there was plenty of activities. A regular and scary corn maze, hay ride and lots of things to climb on. Its 15.00 per person, corm maze 10. Don’t know what the age limit is for free entry. Grandson was free.

CardiganandTea

Yeah, we don't go to Schmidt's anymore. Way too crowded and too many people gathering pumpkin stacks for Instagram pics.

Barryzuckerkorn_esq

Super crowded and long lines today

New_Engine_7237

Probably making up for a rainy Saturday.

Hank’s Pumpkin Town in Southampton.

Waterdrinker and Lenny Bruno farms in manorville, right off exit 69 LIE. Bring money though they do charge entrance fees

Finks in Wading River, it’s easy to get to, it’s not as far away as the other big farms, you’ll avoid most of the north fork traffic. Though I’m not sure if the traffic tomorrow will be the same as it is on weekends. I know there are a couple farms in northern Nassau County but I’m not sure if they offer the same stuff that the farms out east offer. White Post and Schmidt’s are options if you want something closer to home

Bakewicz Farm in Wading River. Easy to get to, lots of fun.

Nicedumplings

Its relatively new and rough around the edges and is very small. Exit 69 - wading river road. There are 3 farms, Bruno, Water drinker and Prime Pasture. Waterdrinker has the most kids stuff to do by far and saves you from going out east. Check out their Instagram - I would try and get there as soon as they open.

zar1234

Bakewicz had been around for at least 6-7 years. They’ve gotten better every year and the young couple that owns it are awesome. Beer, wine and food, plenty of activities for the kids. It’s not huge like some of the others, but it’s just as nice. Most of their fields are actually down by water drinker and among Moriches middle island road.

I used to go pumpkin picking every year but then became disillusioned when I discovered the majority of the pumpkins are outsourced and just placed in the patch for people to “pick”.

It drives local businesses. I just stay home on the weekends and go to the farms when the traffic is heading out.

It's one month out of the year. I was a business owner for 10 years on the North Fork, and the fall business is what kept the business going through out the very slow winter months. Many other small businesses who are your neighbors as well. I lived off of Peconic Bay Blvd, so I totally get where you are coming from. The farms need to improve their infrastructures in order to accommodate the influx of people for the month.

catandbookladyk

The Suffolk County Farm in Yaphank has pumpkin picking without all of the crowds further east, plus wagon rides, a corn maze, multiple playgrounds, and tons of animals to visit. It’s also less $$ than many other places.

Anywhere on the North Fork
