Yeah it’s not my scene either. I hate places like that, but this one seems worse than others. I also hate that they post pictures of fancy cars in their handicap spots. I feel like they are just telling people that if your handicap you’re clearly not cool enough to eat here so why save a spot.
This is the only right answer!
ETA: also a great spot for a date night, great ambience, service, & no bad table in the place. Get the stracciatella app!
You can't go wrong with any of the spots mentioned here, besides Farm Italy, but also throwing in a vote for Osteria de Nino on Main St, that is very good and you can definitely get a table.
I was just saying that to my wife as we passed by it the other day. Hardly any customers there.Maybe it's the location or maybe it's a front for some other activity 😜
I upvoted this, but good luck getting a reservation this short notice. Friday they book weeks+ out unless you’re open to sitting down for dinner at 10pm maybe.
Live in town and grew up nearby.
I am an American-Italian chef. I help run a successful upscale pizza restaurant in Nassau.
My favorite place is Posto Pazzo. Luigi is a nut but he really knows how to cook and actually is in the kitchen.
Next is Piccolo, then Joaninas, then Jonathans (not really italian). All great and nicer for dinner, with Joanina being more casual.
1653 (our competitor) is fucking great went yesterday, its busy and tight however. Younger crowd tough to get in.
Farm italy and eduardos are overpriced rip offs. Been to both and was not impressed AT ALL. Got bad food poisoning at eduardos and they blamed me! 😂
Never been to osteria del nino or angelos, want to try. My girls family loves sal d’s but we haven’t been in a decade, portofino is actually solid now with new owners, more of a pizza place vibe.
That’s La Pizzetta. There are 2 La piazza’s on Long Island. The one I’m referring to happens to be in Melville. I thought it was closer to Huntington but I’m pretty sure it’s still considered town of Huntington.
Duh my bad i always mix them up. I grew up going to la pizzetta in ob and la piazza in plainview. The new piazza is in melville i guess ive been like 10 times.
Joanina for a date night spot - excellent food.
Farm Italy you’re paying for ambiance; I find the food to be very average.
If you don’t mind a louder, busier, crazier restaurant, and your group is a bit lively, Robkes in Northport is dollar for dollar some of the best Italian food around in my opinion.
Piccolo I thought was decent. Osteria da nino was meh. I haven’t been to posto pazzo yet but I hear good things.
Piccolo and Joanina are 1a & 1b. Piccolo for the upscale high end cuisine and great variety of dishes and Joanina for its great vibe, solid food, and reasonable prices. Eating at the bar there is excellent - good size drinks!
Went to Angelo’s for the first time a couple of weeks ago. It’s basically the chef and team from Bravo Nader at the same location. I think Angelo was one of the waiters there. Since it’s the same chef, the menu is similar to Bravo Nader. The place has gotten a nice makeover. The food and service were both excellent. Waiting to try again before considering it at the same level as the ones above.
Farm Italy is also good, but the hype makes it too tough to get a reservation and frankly there are so many good Italian restaurants in Huntington that it’s not worth the effort.
I haven’t been to Sal D’s (even though it’s 5 minutes from my house), but after reading this thread, I may have to give it a try.
Go to The Ivy if you want to be surrounded by fuckboys, wannabe IG models, shitty service, and potentially get overcharged.
yea I went with my bf last year and the vibes were like a club and Miami type girls lmao. they kept staring like we didn’t belong

Joanina. But you need a reservation and they're usually booked solid on the weekends. Still worth a try!

This is the correct answer
Jonathan's Ristorante. Been there for 25+ years and for good reason.
We enjoyed Edoardo’s Trattoria too
I got terrible food poisoning there from an overpriced sandwich. I work in the industry and they were huge dicks about it. Fuck that place.
Farm Italy, Piccolo's (yes it is in Huntington- Southdown to be precise) , Joanina's.
Joanina is the spot. Authentic and very good.
You can't go wrong with any of the spots mentioned here, besides Farm Italy, but also throwing in a vote for Osteria de Nino on Main St, that is very good and you can definitely get a table.
I’d rather chew on grass than go to Farm Italy
1653 Pizza Company. Excellent food and drinks with outdoor seating. They do wood fire and have really great wine selection.
It’s 30 degrees out
😂
Laparma
This is the answer.
Yeah, La Parma II on Jericho
F that clip joint. Total factory.
Very good. I haven't been in a while but last I was there they were family style only, which is great because everything they make is amazing.
Joanina and it’s not close. Sal Ds and Angelo’s honorable mention. Farm Italy can get bent.
Wherever you go, I highly recommend the gabbagool
Don't forget the sfogliatelle
La Parma or Joanina, though my preference is the former.
https://www.eataliafamilystyle.com/ always plenty of seating and around the corner from the Paramount
Why does it seem like no one is ever in there? It's pretty good and it's still open, but I rarely see people inside.
I was just saying that to my wife as we passed by it the other day. Hardly any customers there.Maybe it's the location or maybe it's a front for some other activity 😜
Joanina or Osteria de Nina are the best. Farm Italy is overwrought IMO.
Piccolos!
That’s not in Huntington and that’s definitely not the best 😭
Then where is it? It’s literally 3 blocks north of the village.
It’s in Huntington.
Sal D's! Eggplant Parm is amazing!
Best eggplant parm in NY. I dare anyone to find a better one.
I really like the one from DiRaimos believe it or not. Best eggplant parm in ny is at mikes deli in arthur avenue to me.
The eggplant pizza from diraimos is pretty good. Mikes deli is fantastic. I’ve been twice.
Not exactly Huntington but Cirella's on 110 in Melville is a good restaurant.
How about Grasso’s in CSH. Nice place.
Great place, great live music, great bar, great service! They have some Italian dishes, but I wouldn’t call it an Italian restaurant.
Farm Italy!
I upvoted this, but good luck getting a reservation this short notice. Friday they book weeks+ out unless you’re open to sitting down for dinner at 10pm maybe.
Posto Pazzo is excellent and they serve the best oysters.

Farm Italy.
A bit expensive, but I’ve gone to La Piazza one time.
thats in oyster bay lol

Angelo's hands down no question

Farm Italy is just silly and trying to hard. Joanna’s
