True. And there's one movie, the name is escaping me, where he plays the devil. I've seen clips of it, it's a great take on it and I'm curious to see his whole performance
You’ll be pleased to know that he just released an absolutely phenomenal western as well, it’s called The Dead Don’t Hurt and he writes, directs, and stars in it.
Anduril, Flame of the West, forged from the shards of Narsil… This man handled the power of this sword and summoned to him an army more deadly than any that walked this earth :).

Interview in Norwegian/Danish.
Makes me wonder if that movie will be told in retrospect, like Aragorn is recounting the history of it to his son Eldarion. That would be a cool way to set it up
It’s not, actually. Viggo used Anduril in a scene for the new movie he’s promoting, The Dead Don’t Hurt. He wrote, directed, stars in and composed the music for it!
Here we are, born to be kings
Princes of the universe...

Do we know is this is one of same one he used during the movies? Would be cool that he got to keep his sword. I know kit harington want his longclaw sword and HBO or whoever technically owned wouldnt let him have it.
>Do we know is this is one of same one he used during the movies?
Yes, it is.
He needed a good, quality sword to be a prop in a little scene for his new movie. And then he remembered that he just has a very good, quality sword.
He asked permission to use Anduril, wich was granted as the sword has no importance in the plot.
Now, Anduril is in a western ¿¿¿???
(Sorry me for my poor english)
All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost. From the ashes a fire shall be woken, A light from the shadows shall spring; Renewed shall be blade that was broken, The crownless again shall be king.
I love how in the book Aragorn has the shards with him and showed the hobbits like immediately at the Prancing Pony. Not only that he didn’t even have a working sword when he lead them into the wild on the way to Rivendell
The return of the King
He just carries it everywhere now.
Nothing wrong with that
Just hope he doesn't break it, again
When did he break it?
It wasnt he technically
ahh can't recall clearly maybe it was a family member, it was a long time ago.. they dropped it and some heavy dude stepped on it
That was Sauron, when Isildur broke the first one.
As is his birthright!
Looking a bit like a Greek mobster in Baltimore
He's not even Greek
Nor was the Greek!
That's nice, Boris.
He'll sneak some lutefish in to your mezes.
He’s Dunedain
I'm getting more Del Boy Trotter
He's prepping for a gritty reboot of Only Fools and Horses.
Viggo looks a little Argentino or Venezuelan to me.
"My friends. You bow to no one"
Dude I just watched him in green book. Such a good movie. He has such range.
Have you seen him in A History of Violence and/or Eastern Promises? He's quite excellent in them
Eastern Promises fuckin’ rocks man.
So sad the sequel never took off, from what I've read Cronenberg and crew/were all set, and the script, but funding fell apart close to film date
And the Road
Captain Fantastic too
Yes! Good movie, and he was excellent
I have not. I'm adding those to my list. Thank you for the suggestions.
No problem! Darker movies but they're so good
Don’t forget about The Road!
Love Eastern Promises.
Even in GI Jane he shows his talent as an actor.
True. And there's one movie, the name is escaping me, where he plays the devil. I've seen clips of it, it's a great take on it and I'm curious to see his whole performance
Just looked it up. It's "The Prophecy" not sure if he's in all 3 or just one.
He is just in the first film. And it’s a small part at the end. But worth watching.
You’ll be pleased to know that he just released an absolutely phenomenal western as well, it’s called The Dead Don’t Hurt and he writes, directs, and stars in it.
Yep, was planning on seeing it this weekend along with The Bikeriders
Did you know that he did all his own naked stunts in the sauna scene, and that at no point during filming broke his toe?
Watched History Of Violence last week. Great acting but the movie with it's plot was kinda forgetable. Didnt enjoy it very much.
I saw him in Eureka and he has such a high potential for westerns
He is excellent in The Indian Runner too. It’s a little bit older than the other movies mentioned, but worth watching.
Imagine being able to flex this hard
He’s so hard boiled
Those Rocketbird Penguins won’t slay themselves
No one else is worthy
Besides maybe Stephen Colbert who owns the original Anduril, given to him by Viggo
Perhaps his hands would remember their old strength better if they grasped his sword.
Anduril, Flame of the West, forged from the shards of Narsil… This man handled the power of this sword and summoned to him an army more deadly than any that walked this earth :).
Geez, why you standin’ so close to me, Elrond??!!
I just wanted a hug. It can be quite lonely at my age.
Could it be shaded a little darker? I can still see him.

Game of Thrones DP took the picture

My tired eyes thought this was Woody Harrelsen at first 🤣
“he is VIGGO!”
Woody Harrelson as Aragorn would hit ngl he might be able to pull it off

Met him, got his autograph. A very chill person.
Cmon all this has got to be a teaser for the hunt for gollum
Makes me wonder if that movie will be told in retrospect, like Aragorn is recounting the history of it to his son Eldarion. That would be a cool way to set it up
It’s not, actually. Viggo used Anduril in a scene for the new movie he’s promoting, The Dead Don’t Hurt. He wrote, directed, stars in and composed the music for it!
Why do they keep focusing on gollum? There’s so many better characters to make movies & games about imo
My only king.
ANDURIL! ANDURIL FOR THE DUNEDAIN!
Picture taken in the shadows of Mordor.
Sunniest day in England.

I would have followed you my brother, my captain, my king
what a boss
So cool he got to use it in that recent movie
He's not even near 87.
Do we know is this is one of same one he used during the movies? Would be cool that he got to keep his sword. I know kit harington want his longclaw sword and HBO or whoever technically owned wouldnt let him have it.

Is this from recent
Yes, he’s in Scandinavia this week promoting his new film.
The LOTR / Highlander crossover I didn’t know I needed
I'd have kept the prop as well.
Is he morphing into Ed Harris or is it the lighting here? Cause that man looks like he's about to occupy Alcatraz.
Always amazing to me that Cronenberg didn’t cast Harris as his brother in A History of Violence instead of Hurt.
That line was broken!
He's turning into Alan Alda.
For Ian
You have my sword! Give it back!

He looks VERY Danish on that picture! 😄
Viggo or Terrence Hill? 😁
Dude thats dope. Casually on the street too 😆
I love anthony hopkins!
Gondor is looking very modern under his reign.
can’t wait to be old
Denmark need to bring him on as a substitute in the Denmark/England soccer game
I will follow you my brother, my captain, my King.
The fact that they didn’t give viggo that sword after the filming is criminal
If they ever make a Witcher movie Viggo could pull off and older Geralt
The building in the background hurts my eyes!
"You haven't aged a day." - Was talking about the sword.
Viggo Mortensen looks like Terence Hill.
I love how in the book Aragorn has the shards with him and showed the hobbits like immediately at the Prancing Pony. Not only that he didn’t even have a working sword when he lead them into the wild on the way to Rivendell
What would Aragorn be about 32,456 years old by now? great to see him still doing so well :)
