1. Yes. Kinships. 2. Can't say. I don't play PvP. 3. Last I knew, monster play was indeed available. 4. Of course it's worth it. It's free.

1. Yes, guilds are called kinships and they have some shared storage and housing where members can meet. 2. No, there's very little PvP and it's not a development priority. 3. Only in PvP zones, so they aren't really full characters. 4. Yes, especially if you're a LotR fan, this game is beautiful and enchanting.

Goberth

1. Yes, kinships are gonna be your guild equivalent. 2. Pvp is mostly dead and only in a small selection of areas. 3. Monster play is available but it's nowhere near as indepth as the free people races. 4. The game is free, and most servers are still fairly active. I'd say it's worth it, its also possible to grind in game lotro points to avoid spending real money on expansions/quest packs. Also remember to use the code to get the quest packs for free right now

does it have player-made groups e.g. guilds/clans? Yes, they're known in lotro as 'kinships', some dedicated to kinships, to pvp, for RP or just as a general chat. Is there good PvP content? Very dependant on the state of balance, PvP is an afterthought in lotro, but right now after YEARS they have finally got a dev working on making PvMP great again. We'll see how that plays out but as it stands it's very much a mess. PvP is separate from the base game and not a factor that ever affects the PvE experience. Are any of the "evil" races playable ? One side of the PvP system plays as the 'evil' races. Orcs, Uruks, Spiders and Wargs. They are only able to play in the Ettenmoors area and cannot roam the game freely. Also very rarely you play an instance that has you take control of a mob, sometimes they're on the evil side to give a different take on an ongoing story. Session plays as the bad side only ever happens 3 or 4 times in the whole game. Is it worth starting today even though it is quite old? Sure, nothing stops you, the game is free. But acknowledge that the game is old and a little rough around the edges. What brings most people in is the worldbuilding and setting.
