I've been using [Mac Mouse Fix](https://macmousefix.com/) for months and absolutely love it. It's awesome value for a one-time purchase of $2.99. It does what it says and makes my Logi M650 L feel very close in smoothness & speed to my Macbook's trackpad. It's super lightweight, easy to set up, and has some basic custom button mapping if you need it. It may not be as comprehensive in terms of customization, but I personally like the simplicity and how it just works. It's become one of my essential MacOS apps. I like that it's actively maintained and updated, and the website's pretty slick too. Highly recommend.
Never tried MOS, but I did consider it before choosing Mac Mouse Fix in the end.
Absolutely love [Mac Mouse Fix](https://macmousefix.com/). My only complaint is that Noah only charges $2.99. I need this app to continue to exists until Apple makes a real mouse, which I'd pay 10x what it cost now.
Highly recommended.
Since I'm already using Logi Options+, it seems like the only feature I need from Mac Mouse Fix is the smooth scrolling. If that's the case, I would lean more towards Mos, as it is free.
Look at us, blubbering over our bougie $100 mouse while the cheapo clickers are living their best life. 😂Talk about champagne taste on a cheese budget!😅
Honestly - get a trackpad. Scrolling on a Mac is a thousand times better with a trackpad. Make sure it's one of the newer ones with force touch(\*).
In most apps you can scroll carefully and move up or down \*or even left/right) by a single pixel or you can give it a quick flick and scroll five pages. It's so much better than any Logitech mouse (and I say that as someone who uses and loves Logitech mice).
I keep mine under the space bar, just like on a laptop (and also have a mouse). Use whichever one is better, but scrolling is definitely better on the trackpad.
(\*) Older Applet trackpads, and most PC trackpads, have a physical button. Force touch ones are solid state and detect pressure, responding with haptic feedback that shakes the device just like a button click - you can customise the pressure levels with software and also a firmer than normal click can do something other than a click (e.g. look up a word in a dictionary is one of the default behaviours). The biggest benefit though is it just feels nicer to click on the force touch trackpads and they last longer too.
I use both apps. But after some quick testing, I much prefer Mos over Mac Mouse Fix for its reverse scrolling and smoothing. Mac Mouse Fix is used because the ability to remap holds and double clicks is a very powerful feature.
Mos does have a tendency to unexpectedly quit on me though. I can tell when the scroll gets weird, but starting it up again with a launcher is trivial.
I have MX Master too, and after trying MOS and and MacMouseFix etc. I ended up back with Logi Options with Smooth Scroll enabled + ratcheting on the wheel. You might want to play around with the scrolling speed too (there’s a slider in Options and macOS, idk if those both affect the behavior simultaneously). But I think it’s the best so far.
MOS feels great and has good customization, but I found it to be too unreliable. It’s been so long I don’t remember what it was exactly, but something similar that people in the GitHub issues are saying. And it’s closing on 2 years since it has been updated.
MMF is just too smooth, and it kinda doesn’t feel right to me. It’s emulating a trackpad feel or something.
There’s also Smooze app but it’s not cheap (~25 €), but it was really good and reliable when I used it. I think it’s pretty close to MOS, or at least how they work.
I think both of them try make it so that 1 “scroll wheel tick” makes the scrollarea go a preset distance forwards, and animates to make it look smoother.
It felt slippery at first, but once u used to, it works great especially browsing internet. For more precision app i set it to turn back to ratchet mode.
Since I really love the ratchet clicks and dislike the super smooth scroll, I'm not sure. Are you saying that turning it off would actually make the on-screen scroll smoother?

The only issue I’ve seen with MOS is it hasn’t been updated in a long time but it does the job. But I’m interested in other options if they work

great, have you ever tried MOS too?
And I thought that was my cheap mouse...

HAHAHAH so, when i do wheel scroll the jitter is about mac os ?
I love precision scrolling in Mac Mouse Fix; I wish it supported more than a five-button mouse.
I add some more !!!!!!!!! for you to pick...😂
Sure, enlighten me with a few more viable options? 😅

I still face pointer lag. Even with the mac mouse fixer app. Can someone help me please?
Unfortunately i don't have experience with that app. But MOS for me has fixed the scrolling lag/ jitter.
do u face pointer lag?
Hey guys, any inputs?
I uninstall mos, and instead using logi options+ smooth scrolling and turn off the smart shift, set the scrolling to free spin.
interesting

yes it smooth out the on screen scroll, since there are basically no incremental step at all. i find it pleasing to the eye when reading a lot of text
