I don't know if you travel often but in Appleton/Green Bay they have car washes called "PDQ" and a complete wash is $20-$30 and the kids do a fantastic job! Whenever I'm going that way I get a full wash, inside and out.
I do it myself sometimes when I get my car serviced at Smart Motors (it's free there), but I don't do a very good job. I appreciate you posting this thread so I know where to go now! Thanks\~
Glass wipes are like $8 at AutoZone.
It's the fiddly crud that gets caught in the seats & console and takes either a tiny vacuum or q-tips to remove that I don't want to have to deal with 😅
The problem is how modern cars have a 16 foot long windshield that you have to basically crawl onto the dash to reach the corner where it meets the hood.
I actually bought an extension tool thing off of Amazon and it helps reach up there but of course the problem then is the horrible streaks that get behind.

I went there to get our car cleaned up after a road trip. The auto car wash was no better than the one at Kwik Trip, and after two people were done climbing around in my car for 2 and a half minutes the interior was about as clean as I would have gotten it in 2 and half minutes.
Hmm, we took our car there last year to get a full interior detail. It took them a couple hours IIRC. We had to walk over to the mall and kill some time and it wasn't completely done when we got back. I thought they did a pretty good and thorough job.
I went to the East wash one when it was octopus. When they changed I went through Mr. Carwash once and they did a piss poor job on the interior. I complained and they offered me a few bucks off my next visit, not to fix it there. I never returned.

I've started going to Triton on the east side. It's not quite as good, but it's cheaper and they have two blue macaws in the lobby.
Triton on the east side. I get the interior cleaning and wash. Usually takes no more than 10 minutes from when I get out of my car to getting back into it and driving away.
They're probably in business because some people have a habit of going there as long-time customers.
Overall the automated self-service machines have gotten to where they're just as good as full-service; there are only so many people who would pay for the actual difference in cost for the difference in quality, and a lot of those who really care about getting it right would rather do their own car anyways because it's part of their hobby of owning a clean-looking car.
I'd recommend getting your own shop vac if you have somewhere to store it, otherwise going to a self-service auto vacuum.

I called management a few times asking what am I getting for my money anymore, and that they seem to be taking things away without reducing the cost. They gave me a free month here and there, but I am probably going to cancel my membership. I’ve heard good things about the place that used to be mermaid near Easttown mall.

And I trusted them to do what I paid for and didnt check while I was still there. And when I emailed customer service, I got zero response. The parts they did clean looked good though. But I will never go back.

When I lived in Appleton, I would only take my car to PDQ. They're so good, they have ruined all other car washes for me.

I had my Mazda detailed inside and out at Triton today. Took about 1.5 hours. It's like having a new car. I was pleased and I'm picky.
Mister Car Wash is certainly a step down from Octopus, whom they bought out. A Texas corporation that supplanted a local company.

Go to Mermaid on Grand Canyon Dr. they do full service car washes. I go for a Pearl Package every 2-3 weeks

My bigger issue with Mister Car Wash is the aggressive upsell tactics while I’m sitting at the self serve kiosk. And then the hard sell on tipping.

I like Mr. Splash with the free vacuums. And I use an auto cleaner spray to clean up the rest of the interior. Can’t stand Mr. Carwash

My car was well cleaned inside and out at the Park Street Mister Car Wash on Park Street, last Sunday, midafternoon. Must have been lucky.
