Dancing in a casual way is significantly easier. Like, after a couple of classes, you should be able to dance well enough that nobody is just going to stop and stare at you.
Obviously, any higher level stuff will take way more effort - but just grooving to the music and throwing in a couple of moves is easy.
Judo will take WAY more commitment.
I'd suggest you take a couple of dancing classes and get that over with. Practice what you learn in front of mirror with some songs you want to dance to. Then go do some Judo.
Either one will probably make you more at home and relaxed in your own body and help. But I like what Justavian said - dancing is the easier to take on, then you can move on to Judo. (But Judo can be fun well before you get expert at it too.)
Dancing will be the easier of the two. Judo takes quite a bit of time to be proficient at and most likely to be more expensive. I like Judo a lot but there are easier martial arts to get into and become proficient in for self defense. Most judo techniques require getting close to someone and that's something you very much want to avoid in bar/club fights.
Do them both
Bruce Lee was the cha cha champ of Hing Kong
Both will be great boosts to your confidence.
Shh heres a little secret ...a lot of women equate ability on the dance floor to sexual prowess..
And this is coming from a guy who can't dance and well you get it.
Here’s what I do and maybe it’ll work for you:
I do BJJ as a commitment and a I do Salsa/Bachata dance as a social/drop in activity so I can do it whenever I want and have time. I honestly love both and It’s doable. It just requires a little research to find the socials. Seriously dude, so much fun.
Dance first for a little, watch youtube tutorials on how to dance in club settings etcs and two steps are really simple and effective! Then move onto judo.
Put what u learn into practise and hit those bars!
This is making me want to go watch some dance tutorials too now 😭
You should just skip all that and go into comedy. This post is solid gold.

Dancing - you'll use it more. A lot more. Be a lover not a fighter. Fighters might win a fight, but lovers win at life.
