Wait. I thought identity of SUSPECT must be kept confidential?

ghostme80

If under investigation yes. But once charged in court, no more confidential. As it already becomes public record. So, i have said this before, if after she is charged in court but media still keep her information private, then its obvious she has strong connection.

Zeratul_Vergil

Because that infuriates netizens, especially keyboard warriors... How could we bash / harass the people if the identity is hidden?

StrenghtAndHonour

Same reason that people still don't understand why "alleged/allegedly" is used by the media.

emoduke101

Cuz who she voted for and what school she attended is veerryyy important for police investigations 🙄

MszingPerson

Didn't you read the news link. People are calling out astroawani double standards in reporting. They previously report KLIA shooter as ***former tahfiz school leaver*** rather than just a man. Now report women only, not which school she's was attending. People are mocking the news reporter for being bias in reporting crime. And are copying their standard as a joke.

emoduke101

And Focus Msia is just another opinion based “citizen journalism” which purposefully uses random ppl’s tweets/comments as content and hence I take it with a handful of salt. Ofc I read it, just wasted 3 min I’m not getting back My OG comment was simply meant to show how much we’re all tired of everything being politicised in making their point when this had zero politics/religion issues.

GiantCake00

Astro Awani is wrong for hiding her identity. She deserves to be doxxed, house be vandalised, paint splash, broken windows. Her car needs to be flipped and burned. Her company needs to be spammed and harassed until she is fired. Her family also deserved to be doxxed and harassed until they break. And I can't believe I need to say this, but /s People love to witch hunt too much. Two wrongs don't make a right.

forcebubble

Everything you mentioned are reasons why vigilante justice is dangerous — they are always governed by emotions that tend to favour payback over actual justice, in some cases misguidingly equating both as one and the same.

kappa_cino

Malaysians all want to take matters into their own hands... Everyone is Batman here

MszingPerson

Vigilante justice is a minor issue. It's news sensationalism is the real problem. Didn't you read the news. People are calling out astroawani double standards in reporting. They previously report KLIA shooter as tahfiz school leavers rather than just a man. Now report women only, not which school she's was attending. People are mocking the news reporter for being bias in reporting crime. This whole thing would not be happening if they just report thing with the same standard for everyone.

Adventurous_Listen11

If you think legitimising violence against another then how are you different from that suspect?

GiantCake00

Exactly. That's why both victim and accused need to have their identity kept from the public

momomelty

The article is talking about “netizen” blaming Astro for being racist as they identified the KLIA shooter as Tahfiz school leaver but when it comes to this case, it’s only a “Wanita” and Therefore a racist. Lmao

eddstarX

Yes

Logical_Engineer_420

Its because the guy was under manhunt while this woman was swiftly caught

Designer_Feedback810

They don't like, can complain why state Tahfiz school. Dragging other shit in... 2 wrongs don't make a right.

moomshiki

> Leading the pack is Anti Cyber Trooper (@genz20001) who ticked off the Malay language news portal for not “stating it clearly” that the suspect “is a Chinese woman who is a SJKC (Chinese-type national school) product and a DAP voter from Penang”. Malaysia boleh, Wawasan 2020.

Designer_Feedback810

Should also tell her favorite food, drinks. Hobbies, what celebrities, music, films she likes

ShortKingsOnly69

One look and I can tell she likes eating Bak Kut Teh while drinking beer from KK Mart. Probably went to Coldplay's concert few months back too. Hobby for sure is buying Magnum 4D.

Party-Ring445

Btw i just opened a pitchfork shop in case anyone wants to buy

zagaara

you forgot to insert PM untuk harga.

Thenuuublet

Cuz keyboard warriors don't care about identity and harassment unless it happens to them. Very good example to test: ask them to show their face and car number plate. Nothing will happen to them, promise them that like how they promise they won't dig deep.

Ebisure

People still watch Astro?

bbqporkbelly

Not sure about you guys, but injustice incidents like these really make my blood boil. Come on Penang peeps, name and shame her. Someone needs to make her regret for life.

Designer_Feedback810

Name and shame for people is kinda bullshit. Doxxing isn't a good thing, regardless. If wrong, punish as law. No need add on other bullshit like fire bombing, firing etc.

Designer_Feedback810

Probably the irony that these "moral" people do these immoral things. If this woman is a temple/Church ajk, moral teacher etc...

Yarob_2184

I don't think the information about the suspect was available at the time
