Hello from the Philippines! I'm a college student studying ASEAN History, and I have to research + explain an editorial cartoon.
I found this guy called "Zunar" who makes editorial cartoons. He made a book called "Sapuman: Man of Steal", and I was wondering if anyone can explain what "Sapu-" means? I know that it's supposed to be a pun for "Superman", but Google translate tells me "Sapu" means "Rub" in English. Is that related somehow?
To add, sapu here is more correctly interpreted as swipe - like the dialogue 'Swiper, no swiping!'. Sapu licin, literally cleanly wiped is used when robbers take everything in a looting.
Thanks! Is the [drawing supposed to look like someone famous in Malaysia](https://twitter.com/zunarkartunis/status/915202708860108800/photo/1)? As an outsider, I'm not too familiar with Malaysian politics so I wanna ask you guys for help in understanding what his editorial cartoon means.
This is a highly contentious question, so bring popcorn. Most will choose the same thing despite living 1000km away.
The normie thing to say is CKT for Penang, I would say char hor fun or wantan mee.
Hi all, is anyone aware of a shoe store in central KL that sells barefoot shoes from brands like Vivobarefoot, Wildlings, Splay or else? Also, is there a local Malaysian brand I should check out while I'm at it? Many thanks for any hints!
Recommendations for driving schools in PJ for B full license?
I already have a B2. I am trying to find somewhere if any, that are a bit cheaper than the big M**** :)
Noooo cititel mid valley handover their parking to mid valley, now cititel no more parking, that was my go to affordable hotel in KL with parking and decent breakfast
TIL the Boulevard hotel mid valley is not operating
> Boulevard hotel
I wanted to book there last year but I found out about the notice of closure on their website and suggested to book at the nearby Gardens St Giles. Booked at the hotel, but they swapped me to the residences instead. Not complaining. I got a deal that time that cost almost half of the normal price, and considering I got swapped to the residences, which costs slightly more, it was a steal. No breakfast unfortunately.
Gotta try Cititel MV next time. I've tried the Cititel Penang in the past and I appreciated their price point.
Shipping is going to take a while longer than usual, problems with the Dynamic Zero Covid policy of the CCCP. So order and fiddle your fingers while you wait.
following this rule; I should wear a mask in:
- restaurants and shops/malls
- airport (KLIA)
- hotels
(as far as I know, my airline doesn't require masks.)
did I miss anything? sorry if I sound a bit obtuse, I am coming from an Arab country and we have very different regulations
that’s about right, but yeah i don’t think you can list down ALL the places you should wear a mask, the indoor/outdoor rule is obvious enough.
If you’re inside 4 walls and a roof, mask on
Inside public transport, mask on
Does anyone know if stadium MPAJ is free to access to the public? I want to use their field track for some interval running. If not, are there any other stadiums which allows the public to use the track, free or not? Around KL only preferrably
Well it seems like the washing machine is dead now.
It's been 16 years
Any suggestion for a new washing machine?
My current one is a Toshiba 7.0kg and top load and it's dead it seems
Or maybe I shouldn't buy a washing machine and use the coin laundry 🤔🤔
Laundromat is never worth the money long term. I used to think it is cheaper, but other than the convenience of washing cloth at home, my calculation shows that if i were to use the laundromat for 16 months the cost is enough for me to buy a washing machine
Bought samsung 7.5kg one recently, nothing much to say other than it's a washing machine lol
As someone who lived off from coin laundry for two whole months, I am so glad I have a washing machine now. I can wash clothes at a whim now, no need to scour for coins. I know there are laundromats that use credit card/QRPay but that requires going out and carrying my dirty clothes. So get a new machine!!! No suggestion from me though, I got mine technically for free 😆
Oh please.... If you have package A, B, C, D etc. each with different pricing, then those "gift" are not free gift. We are just buying those "free gift" with a lower price and maybe give you a chance to clear your unwanted stock
Package A you get the guy
Package B, the guy will be shirtless
Package C he will a jock strap only
Package D is fully birthday suit 🤣
Oh wait, wrong package 🤣
yay i planted my nasturtium seeds. alhamdulillah. now i'm trying to find other things to distract me from the eternal void of my dark thoughts. ΣΣ≡≡≡ー(ー・ω・)ー
Hi Everyone
My partner and I are going to Malaysia in August.
What restaurants would you recommend for us to try OR MUST TRY. (if you are visiting Malaysia for the first time, what restaurants would you want to try again for the first time)
If you can please mention if this x restaurant is recommend for breakfast that would be awesome! We prefer local or speciality dishes of Malaysia rather than sushi or best jap restaurant in Malaysia
Ideally, lines are not too long/ book in advance if possible 30-1 hour wait time is ok = )
Thank you so much in advance. We cannot wait to visit Malasia
P.S. price is no issue
We will be here for 10 days
Hi, does anyone here or know someone who studies at University of Southampton in Johor? Its a relatively new University and its hard to find information about it from somewhere like reddit. Would love to know anything in general about it before I ask specific questions!
Anyone here have a recommendation which credit cards to use? I applied for asb at RHB and they gave me three credit cards which is rewards, cashback and shell credit cards. I don’t like the rewards credit card but i don’t know which one to choose either cashback or shell credit card. The shell credit card looks sexy as hell but i don’t know if its worth it over the cashback credit card. I only use up to like 500 - 600 bucks of petrol every month. Which one should i activate? https://www.rhbgroup.com/personal/cards/credit-cards/overview/index.html
Sounds like there'd be stories to tell.... over drinks ehe.
Don't mind me, just expressing my alcoholic side. Maybe I'm also alcoholically frustrated atm.
Ohh, I'm not that far in yet lmao, just almost weekly on Friday night or Saturday haha. If I drank something daily, I'd either break my bank or create a love fear response to it cause I always drink till, at the very least, tipsy and that's like what, one bottle soju at least?
Ahh, I think I'd probably end up taking 3 shots lmao. According to google, a shot is 1.5 oz and 750ml = ~25 oz so hypothetically finish a bottle in 5 days if I took 3 shots everyday lmao. Sounds about right from past experience lmaoooo.
My friend and I went to one by mistake during a visit to Georgetown, we sat and just chatted over shandy and beer, peanuts et al. After 15 minutes we noticed that the patrons in and out were all men, with only one woman standing near the wall chatting with a group of guys.
We did a Google later and found out, yeah, it was a gay bar. Still, we just wanted to chill and chat over drinks, stayed for another half hour or so before walking elsewhere.
Started my new job in June and finally got the first gaji. Bonus points - I finally join the gang of pay before the end of the month instead of first week of the month. Finally can breathe a bit easy when rent due
My old jobs used to give out salary on the 4th - 5th of every month, so that meant I had to set aside more money upfront to pay for rent first and then save next month''s salary for the following month. It was doable but sucked because that meant while all your friends got their gaji before the month was over and could go out and enjoy, you had to tell them you're still waiting for yours and to carry on first.
I don't know if I recommend it, but I drive a Vios. It's alright, though the rear window can kind of reflect the interior of the car sometimes which makes it hard to see through in certain lighting conditions. I find it fuel efficient, but that's because I used to drive a Grand Vitara and that thing was an absolute gas guzzler. So the Vios seems pretty fuel efficient in comparison. I work in Kelana Jaya and go there from Sungei Besi, around 40-50km I guess per working day. There's still some gas left in the tank after 5 days of work though not much.
I still filch off my family and drive random hand me down cars so my perspective isn't great.
I was handed down a Myvi 2015 to me and it's my turn to top up the family car amount. My parents seems to be interested in Vios so it's in my consideration.
Avoid X50 for now, long waiting time (around 6 to 8 months) and spare parts availability issue. The 3 cyclinder engine might get replaced by the 4 in the upcoming model and you can wave goodbye to the resell value then.
Apparently Myvi top spec is super good (i think it's less than 60k). It's got a lot of bells and whistles that I expected to be in a much more expensive car.
Auto cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, auto emergency brake, blind spot detector... the works. [Here's a summary](https://paultan.org/2021/12/16/2022-perodua-myvi-facelift-review/) on why these features are surprisingly good on a <100k car.
Alza if you need to drive lots of people or carry big things around. New model is open for booking. Just be aware that the spare tire ia under the car and may be complicated to get to in an emergency.
Vios or City if you just need a car that can you can use to balik kampung.
Myvi if you just need a car for daily commute.
Alsi, if you book a car by tomorrow, you can potentially enjoy cheaper price because the SST exemption period ends tomorrow.
Not really need lots of space as my family is tops 4 people. Not much cargo.
Myvi is probably not in consideration as our house already has 2 Myvi. Trying to change it up.
Alza - new one coming out soon [https://paultan.org/2022/06/23/2022-perodua-alza-x-h-av-variants-specs-detailed/](https://paultan.org/2022/06/23/2022-perodua-alza-x-h-av-variants-specs-detailed/)
Vios + City = Vios even 2 months ago August only can get, same 2-4 month wait for City now.
Myvi - Same wait because everyone who wants one is filling up the order books.
Just learned that one of my friends from school had passed away. Its so jarring to hear that.
We weren't the closest friends but we were in the same ko-ko activities and travelled a fair bit together while on competitions with the team. I didn't keep constant contact when I moved away, but we'd message saying "we need to have a catch-up sometime" every time I came back to Malaysia in summer. We never found a good time to catch up.
It's just so difficult to understand.
When I was studying A levels, a junior got stabbed and died. He was at some open house and was just trying to stop some guys from harassing his cousin or something like that.
I wasn't that close to him but I still have some memories of him. We had a common room we could use before and between classes, and I lent him an earpiece from my IPod to listen to, then he kinda just ran off with it and I had a bit of trouble getting it back.
The week or so after his death was a hella surreal experience. The mood in school, the crying girlfriend. Some teachers were pretty close to the guy to and they were pretty devastated.
Depends on ur preference, you like fast paced or rilek type of work environment? From all my friend's experience, FnB is quite intense. My friend told a few stories of 18 hour shifts. Quit ady because she's starting her undergrad soon. Cinema sounds more relax than fnb, but I don't have experience in either. My only jobs were in corporate world and they're the most relax of them all in my honest opinion...
Coming from experienced cinema crew part timer before….. if you lucky to become as a steward (those handling the hall in term of screening time and monitoring the hall) should be fine but u need to have a quick feet to run across all the halls to keep in check…
If you managed to get into concession (cinema fnb), basically u become the cashier or become the cook depend on their schedule and it will be super busy if alot of customers watching in the weekends or blockbuster movie… plus during the weekdays sometimes not busy at all….
Their schedule mostly between morning shift (10am - 6pm) and night shift (5 pm - closing depend on the last movie screening time)
My lunch rant: ordered MCDelivery set meal with coke & 3 mcafe drinks, ETA1255PM, 1st rider showed up early 12.43pm, 4 drinks all tarak padahal on brown paperbag ada resit tunjuk all the items. called up mcd 1pm, said wait for 1st rider to come back pickup drinks, mentioned too that set meal missing Coke. Followed up call at 130pm, okok we send a new rider for the drinks ASAP. 2pm new rider. mcafe drinks all dapat, Coke no show. rider tell go call mcd again for it. give up on the coke laaa. at least my ice blended mocha didnt show up as mush.
TLDR : mcd order set meal with coke + mcafe, sampai awal mula2 tarak 4 air, called up. 2pm dapat 3 air, coke tak ada. Sekian. \*sips mocha slushie
Recently I got so damn hooked onto Japanese horse racing. Not so much for the intense race finishes, but more for how insanely loud the commentators can get when something like a close finish happens.
Reminds me of Season 2 of the anime Silver Spoon; the only daughter of the farmer wanted to be a vet because she loved animals but was not a very bright student whom they think could do well to enter a university for that.
To do that she will have to forego inheriting the farm and won't be around to help out when she studies, as well as work part time at the nearby horse racing arena.
Back then SoL aren't really that big of a thing so I'm not surprised if not many people have heard about it.
It was genuinely one of the best anime series I'm seen; we get to learn a few things about farming, a farmer's life as well as the realities of the industry, no sugar-coating. That said not everything was bleak thanks to the humour and peculiar personality of the characters.
BACON! 🐷
tell me about it. The farming bits were educational, the plot was great. Made me feel like "man.. maybe I should've joined an agricultural school back then".
I was surprised when I first realized the creator of Silver Spoon is also the creator of Fullmetal Alchemist. What a talent. Silver Spoon and Yuru Camp are my two top SoL anime, and I always rewatch them on lazy nights or when I'm depressed. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
Most races range from 1200m to 3200m.
Turf, dirt, and something in between probably (might be a large dirt patch within the turf......)
Most races have no handicaps. (or at least the most notable ones)
They take their horse racing very seriously. There is one gacha game about horse racing and the characters inside the game have IRL horse counterparts. I heard that they even need licensing to use the horse name and design, and also they can't make the characters do questionable stuff to avoid angering the horse owner and get the license pulled.
i just spent 5 hours non stop (pausing just for dinner) playing the game. The game is buggy, like a lot of clipping. one time I was just looking at the cops and they shoot at me wtf. but either way i can still have fun, the world is beautiful. rate it 7.5/10. If u have too much games to play, u can get it next time. or just get it if u have some money. up to u
Yea i understand that feeling, i have skipped many summer sales when i realised i bought them just because they r cheap. I only bought one single player game this time cuz my gaming group kinda left me out for fk reason that idk.
It was quite a long time ago that I had a gaming group. I used to play Warframe with a group for 3-4 but I grew bored of it, so are they, and we slowly ditch Warframe. I also had a group for dead by daylight, I'm tired of the game constantly making questionable decisions and dropped it last year. Since then I don't have any group to play game, I did have a friend or two that would farm genshin together but that game is not a good co-op game.
my nasturtium seeds arrived! allegedly when this plant is eaten, it releases a spicy gas. so happy to plant.
i still haven't found where to buy edible lotus that can produce flower. oh well, nasturtium can keep me occupied for now.
My old Bluetooth earphones, which has served me well for many years, is finally starting to break down (it won't charge when I put it in the case, unless if I connect the power cable too). I'm going to get a replacement, and a Google search shows that the Jabra 75t Active might be what I need.
That said, I'm a bit suspicious of [this offer](https://shopee.com.my/Jabra-Elite-Active-75t-True-Wireless-Earbuds-\(ANC\).-IP57-rating.-Waterproof.-FREE-Upgrade-to-Elite-7-Active-Gifts-i.56528383.4533076746?sp_atk=2f2830b0-6aab-4043-a0bc-e06ade7f96a3&xptdk=2f2830b0-6aab-4043-a0bc-e06ade7f96a3); any audiophiles want to chime in?
Also, I suppose since it's still useable, should I give away my old earphones once I break in the new one? It worked great (except for the charging bit, and also it only has 2h battery life), but are you willing to use something that's been in my ears?
Waow, good earbuds are this expensive? Not me buying rm20 earbuds expecting a steal, and the charging contact pads literally fall out after a month's use..... hahaha.
How do I, as a non-Muslim, explain in simple terms to my colleague who is a UK Muslim why Malaysia has so many policies and laws affected by the religion.
I'm finding it difficult to explain that its almost impossible to convert out due to the law. She is like, that sounds illegal, I'm like no, the opposite is considered illegal and she doesnt believe me.
Hahaha, my Brazilian colleague came to Malaysia and is shocked to find out that the law mandates that some people must be Muslim, by law.
And also shocked to find out that I can speak bahasa, and ask me why.
Start with with Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation response to it, specifically this phrase:
>pursuant to Islamic values of social justice and gender equality
UK follows the first one. Malaysia considers Islamic values to be higher than human rights, as decided by muslim scholars. And Muslim scholars in Malaysia does not give any consideration to personal autonomy when it comes to religion.
edit: she as a UK Muslim is protected by the UDHR. Malaysian muslims are not.
Several key points.
1. Malaysian demographics. 70/25/4/1.
2. Malaysia has 9 muftis, in comparison to other Muslim countries.
3. Separation of powers between the Sultans and the Federal government.
4. Separation of powers between Syariah and Civil law.
5. That much on separation of powers, and the powers involved in those segments created faux policies, some might even call redundant.
6. The mixture of race based and religion based politics has made it much worse to pursue for modern development, and it had eventually focused on the retention of powers instead.
You can start from there.
Tl;dr: *Article 3 of the constitution states that Islam is the official religion of the federation.*
In one paragraph or less:
Although Freedom of Religion is written in the constitution, the parliamentary bureaucracy may control or restrict the propagation of any religious doctrine or belief among persons professing the religion of Islam. This allows strong influence by the government in shaping and enforcing Islamic policies and regulations.

my in laws are visiting from australia. they are so happy and said "so glad we could escape the cold weather". to those who pernah tinggal cold weather before - that bad meh? around 5c already feel like shitty weather?
I like 4 seasons weather.
Spent a few years in Sydney, a few years in Tokyo.
I was very comfortable from autumn through winter till mid spring.
Winter in both places are not too cold.
Back in Malaysia I turn on aircon all the time. Hahahahaha...
I've been to Australia a fair bit.... it's not even that cold in winter? They also get pretty hot summers so it's not like they don't get their own share of hot weather. At the end of the day, depends on your preference and tolerance I suppose, I much prefer the cold. Though Melbourne is a crazy unpredictable weather city and it can drop to 10C even in Summer when it rains.
I don't mind winter clothes, though they can be annoying if you're going in and out of heated areas a lot. Keeping the layers on is obviously too much indoors, so you end up taking it off or end up sweating. Then the sweat makes the cold outside a lot worse. Carrying too many jackets around indoors is also kinda blah. This was just in Australia though, in freezing weather countries there's layers you can't easily take off like long johns and whatnot.
I don't think I would want to live in freezing weather countries though. I went to South Korea a long time ago in the winter, it was fun for a bit but there's some awful things as well. Your face just goes numb a lot. I once stepped into knee deep snow and lost my shoe, and ended up with a rather wet sock. Since we were on tour I couldn't really go back and get new socks, so I just had to deal with having a very cold foot. We were also climbing a small hilly place for a scenic view, my father slipped and fell. Thankfully no injuries but he basically gave up and just waited for us to get back down.
I went to Tokyo in December 2019, but the cold didn't really bother me then. I think winter only really hit over there that year January onwards.
My classmates at a local uni had very poor cold tolerance though. They didn't really understand how I wanted to sleep with the aircon on all night, they wanted another layer for malls and classrooms. Many strokes, many folks.
It can be miserable. First few days is fun, when you still have the energy to power through the cold. After a while it's just bleah.
Australia is not super cold, so most houses are not equipped with very warm facilities like boilers or furnaces that make it really comfortable. So in colder months you end up taking a shower and coming out into the cold air freezing your balls off and chattering your teeth.
Cold air is also very dry, so you have dry nosetrils that hurt and bleed easily, lips that are dry then peel & crack if not moisturised with lip balm often, skin that's just dry and flaky till your shins and thighs look like lizard skin unless you always apply creams etc.
Freezing cold is no laughing matter. You can get frost bite and sick easily.
If it snows, the snow collected that the road side will get very dirty and you'd be unfortunate enough to step on them.
It depends on each person. I was in Minnesota, US (Canada is right above us) for a few years and I personally love the cold. I do still feel relieved when I finally see the sun shine through, the snow finally not covering everything, and I can go out without needing to pull out the sweater, the winter jacket, the thermal pants, the boots, gloves, scarf, maybe hat if you wear those. Then I proceed to hate the heat when summer comes.
To me its more like everything else is annoying. Like damn, I need to like layer up just to go out anywhere. The high wind speed gives me brain freeze. The falling snow keeps getting in my eyes. And you bet I'll hate it if I owned a house and need to shovel my driveway constantly.
So actually, what I want more is cold weather but without things like rain or snow.
Experienced two winters in Tokyo. My main complaint is it becomes a pain in the ass to put on all the layers of clothes even when it's just for a quick stop at the convenience shop.
I stayed in Melbourne for 3 years. During winter time, I was very glad to see the sun shining brightly to get some heat. I guess I kinda prefer hotter weather than cold.
When you're in the hot, you miss the cold. When you're in the cold, you will miss the hot.
i always assumed that people who want to "escape" the cold are those who came from thick snow kinda temperature, which is why i was so surprised. i saw the news, melbourne is cold rn but i was thinking...not that cold tho?
Genting cold is peanuts compared to Melbourne cold. Depending on your experience and preference, you might think its a blessing or a curse (personally 8-10C outdoors is tolerable if wearing 2 not-so-thick layers)
I realised that I follow a few instagram accounts that are inspiring in a very modest, practical way (not the cool-quote-on-pretty-background kind of photo)
[@shoshandshield](https://www.instagram.com/shoshandshield/) - sword and shield sports fighter (yeah its pretty cool) who's one of the best in the USA (based on her medal hauls). When you see the stuff she posts, you see how much time she puts into fitness and training. No wonder she can train to be so good. Check out [these tournament fights](https://www.instagram.com/p/CeqwTW-rNRn/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link).
[@sandrasankarate](https://www.instagram.com/sandrasankarate/) - karata kata practitioner with a bunch of Olympic and world championship medals. Again, she puts in the time to be good. Here's a [fantastic move](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cb7lCDRMUO0/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link).
[@jb_jin0114](https://www.instagram.com/jb_jin0114/) - coach for Malaysia's [taekwondo poomsae team](https://www.reddit.com/r/malaysia/comments/uikbgr/malaysia_won_bronze_at_the_world_taekwondo/). The athletes themselves don't post much, but the coach has a bunch of videos showing how they train and some of their practice runs. It's great to get to see how they do it so well and try to incorporate some of those details into my own poomsae. I wish I can do [this](https://www.instagram.com/tv/CddDtbhhEHm/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link).
[@kckuhnhausen](https://www.instagram.com/kckuhnhausen/) - custom car builder who's built some fantastically detailed cars, good enough to win a few SEMA awards. He doesn't buy parts to install on a car, he remakes body panels, suspension parts, brackets etc to achieve his desired look. His instagram shows a lot of the cool stuff he's doing, and you can tell he really puts in the time and thought to make his craft better all the time. [This is pretty representative](https://www.instagram.com/reel/Ce9_CYglkdL/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link) of how attentive he is about getting everything JUST right, though a lot of other work are way more complicated than adjusting a shaft.
Kind of.
Most traditional martial arts have such routines that let's you practise different things that's appropriate for your skill level. Different people or styles place place different importance on these routines. Some ONLY do routines (eg some Chinese styles), as the routinrs are complex enough to encompass the required skills, others only treat it like formality to do during tests.
Some of these moves were actually not just single block or attacks, but may be deflect and counter attack at the same time, etc.
Some events allow for flexible or creative forms, and people do come up with pretty cool (and fiendishly difficult) forms to show off their skill. Something [like this](https://youtu.be/6ZSDZcZCntA).
Anyone can shine a light (pun intended) for me on what is the purpose of those super bright light on wing mirrors? Very common on Vellfires and Alphards. Those f\_cking lights somehow are positioned to shine towards the back, not the side or front.
No, not the blind spot monitor lights. I am referring to bright white LEDs at the turn indicator there. Not sure they replaced the turn indicators or just added one more LED inside.
Currently on a job hunt. This company wants to interview me through online. But before that they wanted my 3 months salary from my current company i'm working in. Is this common?
A lot of companies ask for confidentiality regarding your employment terms, pay and whatever. So you would technically be breaching NDA/contract of your previous job by providing his info, granted they don't ever have to know.
There's other reasons not to want to share. Lots of places try to base your pay on your previous pay, so if you were underpaid before - then you're not going to get much of an improvement. You risk getting lowballed.
You can just say your previous company's pay is confidential and you would prefer not to disclose that information. If they press you, maybe you can present the argument that they wouldn't want their pay ranges leaked either.
I once did an interview for fun, and went to say "I'd rather not disclose that information" and when asked "Why" I just said "It doesn't have any relevance to the job offer, in my opinion."
We capped it off by agreeing to not waste each other's time.
Some would say that if the companies are penny pinching you on these things, it's a small red flag.
Went on a 3 day trip in Terengganu.
If you are considering to book a few nights in Terengganu, go for Anjung Ara homestay.
It's like a blend between home and hotel experience.
It's got a pool, free parking, free wifi, a garden, a kitchen with appliances so you don't have to bring your own periuk nasi. The homestay's cleanliness is great too.
It's worth it. 9/10 honest review. Booking is from RM130-150.

Don’t you people eat spaghetti with hands lol
I think you mean laksa, but I've never seen anyone done that in reality
I always suggest Lontong Kering or Nasi Ambeng

> Boulevard hotel I wanted to book there last year but I found out about the notice of closure on their website and suggested to book at the nearby Gardens St Giles.
Sabahan how and where can I sell my gaming laptop? Is Carousel okay in Sabah or only Mudah?
Saw a vlogger made beads phone strap. Now I also want to make it🥲 this is the downside when china’s wholesaler is at my finger tips🥲 damn you shopee😭
Shipping is going to take a while longer than usual, problems with the Dynamic Zero Covid policy of the CCCP. So order and fiddle your fingers while you wait.
Are masks required/mandated in Malaysia? or is it just certain places? Also, are masks required in KLIA? Thanks!
If it's indoors, cover your jaws.
following this rule; I should wear a mask in: - restaurants and shops/malls - airport (KLIA) - hotels (as far as I know, my airline doesn't require masks.) did I miss anything? sorry if I sound a bit obtuse, I am coming from an Arab country and we have very different regulations
that’s about right, but yeah i don’t think you can list down ALL the places you should wear a mask, the indoor/outdoor rule is obvious enough. If you’re inside 4 walls and a roof, mask on Inside public transport, mask on
Does anyone know if stadium MPAJ is free to access to the public? I want to use their field track for some interval running. If not, are there any other stadiums which allows the public to use the track, free or not? Around KL only preferrably
Not sure about stadium track but klcc’s park has a track🤔
Well it seems like the washing machine is dead now. It's been 16 years Any suggestion for a new washing machine? My current one is a Toshiba 7.0kg and top load and it's dead it seems Or maybe I shouldn't buy a washing machine and use the coin laundry 🤔🤔
Laundromat is never worth the money long term. I used to think it is cheaper, but other than the convenience of washing cloth at home, my calculation shows that if i were to use the laundromat for 16 months the cost is enough for me to buy a washing machine Bought samsung 7.5kg one recently, nothing much to say other than it's a washing machine lol
>nothing much to say other than it's a washing machine lol It washes! That's pretty much it haha
Yalor, hahaha
As someone who lived off from coin laundry for two whole months, I am so glad I have a washing machine now. I can wash clothes at a whim now, no need to scour for coins. I know there are laundromats that use credit card/QRPay but that requires going out and carrying my dirty clothes. So get a new machine!!! No suggestion from me though, I got mine technically for free 😆
Oh please.... If you have package A, B, C, D etc. each with different pricing, then those "gift" are not free gift. We are just buying those "free gift" with a lower price and maybe give you a chance to clear your unwanted stock
Package A you get the guy Package B, the guy will be shirtless Package C he will a jock strap only Package D is fully birthday suit 🤣 Oh wait, wrong package 🤣
I prefer to get Package E where 2 units of it is included lol
You mean can see and touch package 👀👀 That be over your budget 😔
I feel that the both of you should get to know each other better. 🙂
Hehehe how so 🙈
yay i planted my nasturtium seeds. alhamdulillah. now i'm trying to find other things to distract me from the eternal void of my dark thoughts. ΣΣ≡≡≡ー(ー・ω・)ー
Plant more to get distracted haha
Hi Everyone My partner and I are going to Malaysia in August. What restaurants would you recommend for us to try OR MUST TRY. (if you are visiting Malaysia for the first time, what restaurants would you want to try again for the first time) If you can please mention if this x restaurant is recommend for breakfast that would be awesome! We prefer local or speciality dishes of Malaysia rather than sushi or best jap restaurant in Malaysia Ideally, lines are not too long/ book in advance if possible 30-1 hour wait time is ok = ) Thank you so much in advance. We cannot wait to visit Malasia P.S. price is no issue We will be here for 10 days
Any dietary requirements?
Which part of Malaysia you will be visiting?
Depends on your spending pattern
Spend about 1k on toll, 1.5k on baby stuffs and groceries, like 3k for house and bills and rest shopping + savings + food
If I'm reading it correctly the Shell one looks like you can get up to RM100 in cash back, but the cashback card only RM50 at most
Looks like i have to fuel up at shell right from now on. Thanks!
health screening packages where usually cheapest?

any watches recommendations as a graduation gift to myself? Looking into Seiko atm. Budget RM 500 - RM 1.2K but can extend.
How about smartwatches? Fossil has some good looking ones, i think they are mostly hybrid.
would not recommend a smartwatch for graduation gift. smartwatch gets outdated in 1-2 years. graduation watch is something you'd want to last long
Tissot PRX quartz 35mm or 40mm Orient Bambino Automatic Seiko Presage Cocktail SRPB43J1 or SRPD37J1
PRX rose gold makes me go cray cray
All 3 of them looks pretty good, thanks for the recommendations! I'll look closer into them
Just casually feeling romantically and sexually frustrated at work, no big deal.
[удалено]
Wellll, I AM on my way to lift atm lmao. Unless you're implying some other kind of exercise ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) which yes, yes I do kinda need some atm
[удалено]
I'm not doing well on apps, sadge
Been sexually repressed for years now... Don't asked about romance, I have given up long time ago
Sounds like there'd be stories to tell.... over drinks ehe. Don't mind me, just expressing my alcoholic side. Maybe I'm also alcoholically frustrated atm.
[удалено]
Ohh, I'm not that far in yet lmao, just almost weekly on Friday night or Saturday haha. If I drank something daily, I'd either break my bank or create a love fear response to it cause I always drink till, at the very least, tipsy and that's like what, one bottle soju at least?
[удалено]
Ahh, I think I'd probably end up taking 3 shots lmao. According to google, a shot is 1.5 oz and 750ml = ~25 oz so hypothetically finish a bottle in 5 days if I took 3 shots everyday lmao. Sounds about right from past experience lmaoooo.
~~jom go to a bar~~
I meannn 👀
Gay bar let's go!!! ~~JK, I don't even know any bar in KL, let alone gay one~~
Heard there's one in Bukit Jalil lol
My friend and I went to one by mistake during a visit to Georgetown, we sat and just chatted over shandy and beer, peanuts et al. After 15 minutes we noticed that the patrons in and out were all men, with only one woman standing near the wall chatting with a group of guys. We did a Google later and found out, yeah, it was a gay bar. Still, we just wanted to chill and chat over drinks, stayed for another half hour or so before walking elsewhere.
Jom hangout there next time if we go to Penang lol
That was nearly 10 years ago, I don't even remember where it was except it's within the 1km vicinity of Tune Hotel.
jom frus tgt
Is this a drinking invitation? Does unker even drink? Lol
*yes*
Oho \**checks schedule for this Saturday*\*
Jom frus tgt looks like jom frustrating togeder geder

so far it's only me who is most probably going to the usual place of Shuangxi somewhere near Petaling Street
Venting frustration while impaired is not a bad idea haha

Started my new job in June and finally got the first gaji. Bonus points - I finally join the gang of pay before the end of the month instead of first week of the month. Finally can breathe a bit easy when rent due
How was it like in your old job? Was your landlord understanding?
My old jobs used to give out salary on the 4th - 5th of every month, so that meant I had to set aside more money upfront to pay for rent first and then save next month''s salary for the following month. It was doable but sucked because that meant while all your friends got their gaji before the month was over and could go out and enjoy, you had to tell them you're still waiting for yours and to carry on first.
Monthly salary, it's addictive isn't it
Y'all got anymore of that salary?
Yes you definitely want more if it all already finished 🥹
>Monthly salary, it's addictive isn't it Factory labor can be as short as every 2 weeks even.
Sorry if I went out of line again the other day. May Lord gimmie strength.
Just being grateful for Rapik KL everyday as i use the lrt for free. Wish i can pay back a little for their generous service 🤗
>Wish i can pay back a little for their generous service 🤗 Pay yer income taxes.
Sudahh 😌
What sub 100k cars would you all recommend. Currently looking at x50, Vios and potentially Alza
I do agree that the Myvi is a great car. But our family has 2 Myvi already. Parents are looking for a more "premium" car that won't break the bank.
Yeah, Myvi really flies under the radar. You'll blend in with the rest of the world.
Alza - new one coming out soon [https://paultan.org/2022/06/23/2022-perodua-alza-x-h-av-variants-specs-detailed/](https://paultan.org/2022/06/23/2022-perodua-alza-x-h-av-variants-specs-detailed/) Vios + City = Vios even 2 months ago August only can get, same 2-4 month wait for City now.
Is the etng card still out of stock? Want to change lel
No stock. Can try luck with the in app contest to win one.

Which is a better place for part-timer, FnB kitchen or cinemas?
Depends on ur preference, you like fast paced or rilek type of work environment? From all my friend's experience, FnB is quite intense. My friend told a few stories of 18 hour shifts. Quit ady because she's starting her undergrad soon. Cinema sounds more relax than fnb, but I don't have experience in either. My only jobs were in corporate world and they're the most relax of them all in my honest opinion...
Coming from experienced cinema crew part timer before….. if you lucky to become as a steward (those handling the hall in term of screening time and monitoring the hall) should be fine but u need to have a quick feet to run across all the halls to keep in check… If you managed to get into concession (cinema fnb), basically u become the cashier or become the cook depend on their schedule and it will be super busy if alot of customers watching in the weekends or blockbuster movie… plus during the weekdays sometimes not busy at all….
To do that she will have to forego inheriting the farm and won't be around to help out when she studies, as well as work part time at the nearby horse racing arena.
hey hey, a fellow fan of Gin No Saji (Silver Spoon)~ Very rare to see our kind :3
Silver Spoon and Yuru Camp are my two top SoL anime, and I always rewatch them on lazy nights or when I'm depressed. ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ
What's Japanese horse racing like? Short distance like 7f or long like 2mile? What kind of turfs and do they have handicap?
Most races range from 1200m to 3200m. Turf, dirt, and something in between probably (might be a large dirt patch within the turf......) Most races have no handicaps.
And many races in Uma Musume are based on actual, historic races.
Uma Musume. Going to be a S2 I read.
I wiki and it said S2 already aired last year march.
Time to watch 26 episodes of horse racing girls then.
Just Japan things.
japanese tv is dramatic. like OMG THIS FOOD IS DELICIOUS and everyone goes UWWOOOOOOHHH
>everyone goes UWWOOOOOOHHH That one Cooking Master Boy. The one from Shoukugeki is basically orgasmic.
Bought cyberpunk 2077 from steam summer sales. hopefully this is not one of the games that ended up collecting dust in my library.
Pls come back and review once you've played a bit. I'm tempted to get it but I bought Chernobylite and Katamari Damacy Reroll instead.
i just spent 5 hours non stop (pausing just for dinner) playing the game. The game is buggy, like a lot of clipping. one time I was just looking at the cops and they shoot at me wtf. but either way i can still have fun, the world is beautiful. rate it 7.5/10. If u have too much games to play, u can get it next time. or just get it if u have some money. up to u
Thank you! I'll just wait till it has more discount. I dont wanna pay RM100 for a game that still isnt all that done yet
Yea sure i will. Just finished downloading it, gonna play a bit tonight.
Still not yet decide if I want to buy any game during the sales. Want to get a few but have a feeling they would collect dust in the library too.
Game is fun despite all the hate, the “cyberpunk” vibe is there
Yea im keeping my expectation low after reading all the review. Just want to do some world exploration and play at slow pace.
my nasturtium seeds arrived! allegedly when this plant is eaten, it releases a spicy gas. so happy to plant. i still haven't found where to buy edible lotus that can produce flower. oh well, nasturtium can keep me occupied for now.
Not me buying rm20 earbuds expecting a steal, and the charging contact pads literally fall out after a month's use..... hahaha.
What are you using them for?
Working out in the gym. Both for music, and for timer cues (telling when my rest period ends, switching sets, etc.)
Start with with Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation response to it, specifically this phrase: >pursuant to Islamic values of social justice and gender equality UK follows the first one.
Tl;dr: *Article 3 of the constitution states that Islam is the official religion of the federation.* In one paragraph or less: Although Freedom of Religion is written in the constitution, the parliamentary bureaucracy may control or restrict the propagation of any religious doctrine or belief among persons professing the religion of Islam.
Winter time is gloomy. The day is shorter, the sky is darker. Easily can be moody.
5c night in Moscow was really bad. Winter clothes are annoying.
I like winter in Melbourne. The air is dry and crisp. And it doesn’t seep under your clothes so don’t really need a lot of layer
Same. The outside weather during May/June got more and more tolerable even though I still usually wear 2 not-so-thick layers of clothing.
i always assumed that people who want to "escape" the cold are those who came from thick snow kinda temperature, which is why i was so surprised. i saw the news, melbourne is cold rn but i was thinking...not that cold tho?
It's up to individual. To me, anything below 20C is already very cold 😅
Genting cold is peanuts compared to Melbourne cold. Depending on your experience and preference, you might think its a blessing or a curse (personally 8-10C outdoors is tolerable if wearing 2 not-so-thick layers)
Agreed. Melbourne cold is a whole new level lol. 10C or below + strong wind + rain = 🥶
Last time I walked outside in a Melbourne rain in June, I covered up tight and cursed everyone and everything. Can relate.
Winter feels like death in some countries.
I realised that I follow a few instagram accounts that are inspiring in a very modest, practical way (not the cool-quote-on-pretty-background kind of photo) [@shoshandshield](https://www.instagram.com/shoshandshield/) - sword and shield sports fighter (yeah its pretty cool) who's one of the best in the USA (based on her medal hauls). His instagram shows a lot of the cool stuff he's doing, and you can tell he really puts in the time and thought to make his craft better all the time. kata and poomsae are sort of like technique demonstration, right?
Anyone can shine a light (pun intended) for me on what is the purpose of those super bright light on wing mirrors? Very common on Vellfires and Alphards. Those f\_cking lights somehow are positioned to shine towards the back, not the side or front.
I thought that stupid light was part of the original car. Yeah I've noticed it a few times, it looked OEM to me.
Do you mean the bright spot warming light? It turns red when a vehicle is within the blind spot range kf driver to notify driver
I think it's mods like this. https://www.ezyauto.com.my/product/kia-k5-2-ways-side-mirror-led-module/

I tried this before but they would question me repeatedly. Any tips for going around this?
I once did an interview for fun, and went to say "I'd rather not disclose that information" and when asked "Why" I just said "It doesn't have any relevance to the job offer, in my opinion." We capped it off by agreeing to not waste each other's time. Some would say that if the companies are penny pinching you on these things, it's a small red flag.

That makes sense. Thanks!
for local company, yes.
Unfortunately it's kinda common here. So they can see how much they can low ball you.
Right. And I thought they were looking out for workers with sus / falsified work background.
Yes they used that reason to hide their true intentions….
