You Can make a beautiful oasis in this space, a chill spot.

MiKeMcDnet

Just make sure your oasis has proper drainage.

mchch8989

With a projector on to one of the walls for movie nights.

WiganLad82

OP is from Belgium. It rains 200 days a year.

absorbscroissants

As a Dutch person; is a Belgium a desert with so little rain?

Emergency-Length4401

A guy can dream

AlexLambertMusic

A wonderwall, if you will.

Moist_Eyebrows

I will not

AlexLambertMusic

Cmonnnn live a little

mchch8989

Maybe

OOOPUANNGUANGOOOWOAW

Cause maybe....

BetBig696969

Also add hot tub to chill in and a bbq and some chairs

aBearHoldingAShark

Water feature, smokeless fire pit, climbing plants on the brick walls.

johnjonesnewphone

This one’s the best

OOOPUANNGUANGOOOWOAW

Screw that build 12 foot bonfires back there

Stucklikegluetomyfry

A little pond with a miniature water lily would be sublime.

sharktank

this is the dream

Affectionate_Bison26

Mud wrestling pit, opposite sex. Same sex? All the sexes, look assign a bookie and just do it.

manamanabadman

I'm not offended by homosexuality. In the 60s, I made love to many, many women, often outdoors, in the mud and the rain. It's possible a man slipped in, there would be no way of knowing.

JustRiv03

Is this a reference I’m not getting? This is such an out of pocket statement lol

manamanabadman

[:) It’s from the office](https://youtu.be/2JO3oJybBTw)

JustRiv03

Ah, figures, never got into it, please don’t come for me internet. I’m begging you

Mechanic-Latter

Haaaaaaaaaaa

Eric77tj

Plants! String lights. Patio furniture. Maybe a cat

J_spec6

Everyone loves some good outdoor pussy!

Rielhawk

Pond of lava. Do you have a bucket?

mchch8989

Just invite my niece and nephew over and the floor will literally be lava whether you like it or not.

Rielhawk

But the floor is always lava!!

mchch8989

I KNOW!!!!!

lukuh123

To make a cobblestone generator?

Rielhawk

Hehe maybe

AlexandertheHate78

English yards are weird.

JumpV

Belgian yard :)

Gardimus

See, they are so weird they name them after other countries.

MSDoucheendje

I knew immediately when I saw the picture it would be Belgium

drewjsph02

The yard is like a little crater from their waffles

Mobaster

Catio

Firm_Spite7327

I would kill for a little space like this.

EliMaagic

if that's your fancy, I'd recommend tombstones, maybe a compost pile???

AVTL7

Marijuana

Life-Rice-7729

Does this look like the type of climate to grow weed? lol

KoldProduct

It’s hard to keep weed from growing, that’s why it’s called weed

hammer6golf

I like your style.

[deleted]

Ohhhhhh that’s the right idea

IntellectualCapybara

Tomatoes and other plants that will make you happy and feed you. And local wildflowers for pollinators!!!

Stickey_Rickey

Treat it like any other porch or balcony, a nice glass table w retractable parasol… a few chairs, a bench, plants, lights and a grill… don’t overthink it, it’s just an extension of your living space… is it ground floor?

evestraw

parasol? i think it maybe only has a bit of sun at noon and for the rest of the day it seems to be in the shade of buildings

Stickey_Rickey

My outside table doesn’t seem right until I plant my umbrella in the middle, it can make a space feel more quaint, or private, block glare for reading. Is it ground floor?

bionicqueefharmonica

2 chairs and a small table, some form of plant life (the more the better), and if you want it to be super inviting at night, string lights

Nicodom

Put some decking down and a hot tub. 🤔

pwner187

Looks like a great area for outdoor hobbies. I've turned mine into a few raised garden boxes for growing food. And a bench for bonsai trees. But I know a few of my neighbors have fire pits, pottery, meditation, and stargazing areas. I'm really curious what you end up using it for.

RealPayTheToll

zen garden?

Interesting_Rub5736

for such a small space, zen garden sounds good. On the other hand maybe a small waterfall with some grass, to make it minimalistic, but that's what I'd like.

cinephile67

Reading nook

zestierclosest

What happens when it rains?

BillBailey1234

Basket ball hoop for the mini prison yard

PadawanInvestor

home gym for the win

YesAmAThrowaway

Chilling spot surrounded by fresh herbs! Very fragrant, relaxing and good to make meals more exciting.

hammer6golf

Input some kind of hardscape down, even if it's just bags and bags of gravel. Then go from there. I like the BBQ and tomato plants idea, though.

No_Flower7635

Put down some cement pavers add a couple tall potted trees and a Sauna!!!!!!!!!

johnjonesnewphone

Dig out the entire thing and fill it with water, the whole space should be a pool

drew_silver202

throwing some flower seed might be a slow solution

heaven_dip_arena

You could keep a bunny here

No_Principle_5534

Pavers green sapce and a jacuzzi.

GSAT2daMoon

Grow peppers and tomatoes

SnooPandas1899

a garden would liven it up a little.

mrcake123

You should use it

zincinzincout

Personally I’d see if the soil were suitable for growing opium

Willkum

Put in pavers and ya got a nice private outdoor hide out it looks. Sit and drink a nice lemonade or whatever in the evening

thesplendor

A staircase to the roof above it where you can throw roof parties

Yonbuu

I would put in some nice weather proofed decking and a thin frame in the corners for a "roof" of sorts. Not really a roof, just like a stretched rain proof tarp, some cozy outside furniture, maybe some fairy lights along the far wall and just make it into a warm, inviting chill spot.

Familiar-Year-3454

Vegetable Garden

Mediocre_Historian50

Hot tub

Electrical_Slice_980

cold plunge

NessieReddit

Put down some nice pavers (stone) and a few planters for flowers and plants. Plop a couple of nice outdoor chairs in the middle with a little table. Would be an amazing little green oasis.

Gangleri_Graybeard

Break down the wall and use galvanized square steel and eco friendly wood veneers to make the space bigger. Borrow some leftover expansion screws from your aunt to make it sturdy for at least 10.000 years.

CoolPeopleEmporium

A little garden would be nice

lemonpigger

Perfect spot for the cured meat drying rack.

lvl10burrito

I see a place for exercise

Rock and Stone to the Bone!

angestkastabort

What does one usually do with outdoor space connected to one’s living space…

Raytech555

Grave yard

WiganLad82

Some terrible and uneven concrete on the floor, dandelions growing out of the wall, an old rusty bike and a 5 a side sized goal crudely painted on the wall.

Curious_mind95

Garden

Ill-Giraffe-2243

one lemon plant.

dave_gregory42

It will depend massively on how the sun hits this spot. However, with something this small, less is probably going to be more. Some nice paving or perhaps gravel, probably some low level planters with trellis for climbing plants under that window (as long as it gets *some* light), and some simple outdoor furniture should make it a lot better. If that back wall gets sunshine then you could also consider an outdoor sofa or bench with cushions instead. Painting that wall along the right in a lighter colour can also help make the space feel bigger. They're not for everyone, but a couple of outdoor mirrors (the ones that look like window frames) along that same wall can help it feel bigger too. You just want to be careful you don't reflect direct sunlight around too much and make it uncomforable to sit in certain spots. Finally, you should consider the lighting for the summer evenings. Festoon lights along the top of the wall on the right would work, or you could get an electrician to install a wall-mounted light or two somewhere. Go for warm white bulbs to get that nice glow. Finally, finally, if you're getting an electrician to install some lights then you may as well get them to wire up some outdoor plugs at the same time, so you can plug in speakers, a mini fridge, an outdoor heater etc.

jase40244

Plant a small garden and add a seating area.

450mgBenadrylHatMan

add water, mud pit

B-i-g-g-i-B

Water feature, comfy love seat, outdoor coffee table, movie projector idea . Some plants. You're welcome

Heebie-jeebies386

Patio pavers on the area nearest the door so you are not tracking dirt in . Plants by the far wall . Add a trellis with a vining plant to soften the look of the darker brick . Couple of comfy chairs and a small table . Sit out there enjoy coffee or wine . Place a lantern with candles for mood lighting on the table . String lights above . Paint that drain pipe the color of the brick so it disappears or grow a vine up it . It’s strange how the topper on the wall is slanted in toward the patio . Seems like it will cause a moisture problem directing rain water into the building instead of away .

beezofaneditor

Tribute to the Lawgiver.

josenros

Deck tiles, bench, mayne an egg chair, solar lights, and plants, plants, plants.

shanksisevil

Moss and pebbles maybe?

passwordistako

Plants. Grow food. Put a seat and small table to drink coffee out there. Vary the height of the plants.

You can keep a pet zombie in there. Reminds me of 28 days later where they have the zombie chained up.

I would make an elevated platform with stairs because of that tall wall to increase the view. Aber of course, plants.

Proper-Cause-4153

Grow a bunch of weed?

collinsc

Wall to wall with composite decking

TheGulfofWhat

Throw a bunch of stones all over the place. Then add a few comfy chairs and a fire pit. Perfection. Maybe a few plants too.

chanchagoola

Start gardening

frosty_audience001

You need a Smoker there. Brisket and BBQ in Belgium. You will be a Hero, a Legend. The art of smoking meat will make you a modern day Rubens. Also a guy from Belgium. Tell no one I have set you on the path.

spazzing

As a plant lover, I am SHUDDERING with excitement.

awt1990

Can you plant in that soil? If not I would suggest maybe laying some brick for the ground. Maybe do that even if you can plant just leave and easement for the plants. The brick would match nice next to the buildings.

French51

Seconding plants or small garden!

madscot63

Dry fit paver patio, small fire pit and some comfy seating. Oh, and a few plants. I'd use the hell out of that

AlexandertheHate78

I lived in Brussels’ Belgium for a while in grad school. I got drunk many a night in similar “yards.” I say through down some paver stones put a small table and grill out there. Call it a day.

Hobby_Collector8

Pavers/hardscaping with greenhouse/sunroom structure to stay dry with plants, lights, and seating.

Mycol101

Zen garden. Some fine white sand, a wide toothed wooden rake, some stones, one larger oblong upright stone in the center a few plants or a bonsai tree. Moss fillers, a small stepping stone path. And adding accents of wood like bamboo. I love the brick

probablyaythrowaway

How did you end up with a space like that?Ground floor extension?

randomdudebrosky

Galvanized square beams, eco-friendly wood veneer, and screws borrowed from aunt.

[deleted]

If you’re a serial killer that’s a good place to bury bodies.

[deleted]

That's the perfect spot for a partially shaded garden

Skookum_kamooks

I’d do a small Japanese style garden. A few small steppingstones to a small bench, rock work feature and a small water feature of like a bamboo pipe pouring into a rustic bucket that overflows into a hidden reservoir basin. A few small like topiary style tree/bushes and bamboo plants in pots.

Hunter-Gatherer_

Hot tub 🤫

jjhart827

Isn’t that the spot where the warden had Tommy shot in the Shawshank Redemption? /s

EatShitAndDieKnow

Plant weed

CorporateLadderMatch

Rent it out to a young couple looking for their first place together

robertluke

I’d probably just do concrete and add patio tiles. Figure out drainage first.

JUSCALLMEZIMM

I'd definitely add some plant life, and a bird house or two. Butterfly bushes, ground covering plants and med too tall.

Mors-Omnium

Outside smoke pad/leisure space. Read a book, smoke, drink some coffee and chill out there. Shaded mosquito netting and outside, weather resistant furniture.

hazyTHINKER

keep the mud. play in it. 😈

Steven_Dj

Perfect for a gym area. Yoga mat and some kettlebells or dumbels. Room for bodyweight exercises as well. Go for it :)

self-made_coder

Such amazing potential for a green space.

karateninjazombie

If no one can see you while you're sat on a nice chair out there. Then you have your own private outdoor mastabatorium to enjoy.
