for me the saddest moment was when the mc (the one who didn't have an arm) was hanged when he went to help people. and when he had to kill the red haired witch and everyone was celebrating it while he was out there waiting for her to come back.
cat moving on was bitter sweet tbh. it was more on a sad side until the red haired witch came back. I wished they would reunite.
An Uncomfortable Truth. Had me sobbing and hiccuping for hours.

It’s just tragic. Everything *could* have been okay, but one thing leads to another and here you are, swallowing tears.
“Oh, it’s snowing” part killed me for good.
for real, while i was reading i remember thinking how one slightly different line of dialogue could have prevented the entire tragedy but that slightly different line never happened so you just have to watch everything get worse and worse until it all fell apart. i felt so empty and drained after it and i still get depressed when i think about it. 10/10, would not read again
Yeah, right? That’s why the characters have so many regrets. Because they didn’t say something. Because they said something. Because they didn’t comfort someone. Because they acted selfish. They’re humans capable of making mistakes, just like us, yet the consequences they had to bear were horrific.
its so human that it hurts. even until the end i was hoping for a good ending, or at the very least just something good to happen but my heart got trampled on
In short, plot is around the effects of bullying, effects of a broken family and an unhealthy reliability of both these kids on each other. It's just sad from start to finish.
Re-reading the last and second last chapter never fails to make me cry, this was fr such a good and tragic manhwa. None of the characters deserved those treatment 😭
Same! I finished reading it around 2:30 am. First few seconds-I was shocked! I didn't know what to feel then slowly all the emotions began to flow. Like damn, I buried my face into the pillow so that my parents wouldn't hear me crying.
After that, this weird feeling of emptiness continued for a few weeks...
i just wanted to say that i ended up binge-reading this after seeing your comment, and that last chapter in particular absolutely BROKE me. the characters were charming yet flawed and just so incredibly human, the backstories were unraveled perfectly... everything was an honest 10/10. such an amazing read, thank you
Still, the epilogue hit hard on another level, even if it all ended well. The things we learnt in those 51(?) chapters forever changed my view on the story
Okay so it's quite a complicated concept but I'll try to simplify it.
>!At the end of the story, Kim Dokja realizes that he has been the Most Ancient Dream (Yoo Joonghyuk's sponsor and basically the 'god' of the universe) all along. At the age of 15, he read TWSA while recovering in the hospital after his suicide attempt. Reading TWSA became his coping mechanism and ultimately resulted in the creation of that fictional world in real life (unbeknownst to him). Everything that happened after TWSA came to life was because the 15-year-old Kim Dokja was projecting his feelings while reading the novel. There is a complex time loop at play here which, if I tried to explain, might make things more confusing and give you spoilers beyond what you asked.!<
>!Kim Dokja and Kimcom find Kim Dokja's young alter-ego, the Most Ancient Dream after passing all the scenarios. The Outer Gods (who were basically Yoo Joonghyuk and his companions from the 999th worldline) take him with them.!<
>!Now, something to keep in mind here is that ORV repeatedly emphasizes the idea that a story can only exist if it has a reader. Since the Outer Gods had taken away the 'reader', the Most Ancient Dream, Kimcom's story couldn't continue.!<
>!So Kim Dokja sacrifices himself by splitting himself into two. Creates an avatar of himself and transfers almost half of his memories to the avatar. One part of him contains 51% of his memories (the ones with his recollection of TWSA and its events). That part goes on to live as the Most Ancient Dream so that he can watch over the universe and keep it going. The avatar, on the other hand, has 49% of his memories (the ones that he made with kimcom). That's the part that starts living with Kimcom. They all realize it sooner or later that the 'Kim Dokja' living with them feels different and incomplete, but it's not until Han Sooyoung's angry outburst that they actually attempt to bring 51% Dokja back. Things go terribly wrong after that, but then there's an open ending!<
>!As in romantically? No romance in the story, except Jung Heewon and Lee Hyunsung's brief relationship. Oh and there was that one time where Yoo Joonghyuk and Han Sooyoung were engaged as a part of a scenario.!<
Hehe, glad to see you got it down. Where did you read the novels if I may ask? I'm planning on just reading them now instead of waiting for new chapters every week.
The Witch of Mine, one of the best masterpiece i've ever read.

I don't know why no one talks about this. It's really good. It almost made me cry. When you understand why red hair dude is doing and how both the guys suffered in this series because of some really ashole adults. Must read. It might be creepy first few chapters but it's really well written.
hero has returned, hurts me to read idk why but I have to mentally prepare myself for every single new character that’s introduced, since you know deep down inside how it will end for them

Who are you considering the main antagonist? >!cause both the return warrior and sword warrior technically aren’t doing things because they want to, sword warriors life had to be ruined by return warrior so time can continue past his death!<
I can attest to that. That one got me a good sobbing out. I still feel the wretches in my heart when I see that one panel of him saying "Caught you!" "You're wrong! Hehe!"
Aside from Suicide Hunter, No Home got me good. That moment when Juwan's mother finally noticed Haejoon's expression and was utterly horrified by the implication of her words.
I read 30 or so chapters and dropped it. Not because it was bad, it's incredibly good at showing the emotions for that setting.
I dropped it because I wasn't ready. Whatever direction the manhwa took it'll definitely impact me. Doesn't help that I'm at that age, and had somewhat similar happenings.
Man, this was one of the first manhwa I really, really followed and waited for new chapters.
My disappointment was immeasurable, but I guess that's just how life is really. Can't always have a good ending.
I read the last chapter ahead in korean (I do not speak korean) and sobbed so hard I just. Never read the official translated last chapter. It makes me so sick to think about it because like. HOW does an author you go from Orange Marmalade to THAT. Oh my god and the werewolf in a wheel chair? I’ve never emotionally recovered. Genuinely wish I didn’t read it chapter by chapter when it dropped because then I would’ve been warned about how absolutely devastating the ending is when I was expecting a happy one. Especially the wordless scene where Hana >! was violently sobbing and imagining all the places Haru used to be !<
#1 Monster Duchess and the Contract Princess, Can We Become a Family, Baby Squirrel is Good at Everything - Similar moments in regression manhwa where their trauma stays and the MC cannot react to positive emotions or feel like they're not entitled or undeserving of love, and basically thinking like adults but feeling emotion like a traumatized kid.
#2 To Not Die - (iykyk)
#3 SSS-Suicide Hunter - for the dollhouse chapters, this one actually made me a fan because I wasn't expecting this kind of scene from the black hair leveling manhwa
What it means to be you. The FL is so deeply unhappy, just seeing her loneliness was already enough to make me cry. Then she decides to kill herself, and instead it makes her and her husband temporarily swap bodies. But he doesn’t know how it happens. So he keeps asking her to swap bodies with him for strategic reasons, without knowing he’s asking his wife to attempt suicide. And as a reader it was so anxiety provoking, like what if this time when she shoots herself in the head she actually dies?
A mark against thee. Like a one night stand it sucked me dry for my coins and left me feeling empty. Amazing manhwa.
https://preview.redd.it/qeis5go5a0pc1.png?width=432&format=png&auto=webp&s=9b66f8d908dc62f0e2889158e1a8ff7e63b87aa8
'Efforts Never Betray' and 'An uncomfortable truth' both had me crying at the end, and definitely would make me cry on re-read. Both are such good stories and such tragic too. I love both.
Other than the orv novel (which completely emotionally destroyed and traumatized me), I'd have to go with Flow. It's pretty short but goddamn the ending is so good.
Oh yeah and Black Haze because of how it essentially got axed.
Duchess has a death wish. Fuck! The first 38 chapters were BRUTAL! The depression and suicidal behaviour is so real. Even the little details when she failed her attempt cos someone intervened and she >!“doesn’t feel like attempting twice in one day”.!<
Just seeing the light in her eyes fade when she remembers and relives her deep grief and trauma. UGH!
>!And then the scene of her having a conversation with her dead sister after attempting suicide. My soul was crushed!!! Especially when it hints at the late sisters’ sacrifice!<
It’s my guilty pleasure to re-read this manhwa for the sheer angst of it all
I adore this manhwa way too much for the quality and the scene where her parents just accepted her as who she was and had a convo post attempt had me bawling my eyes out. I seriously need a new update because I am unhealthily obsessed with the magician
edit: I have a tear tracker app and I literally documented the cry LMAO it was specially chapter 38 when her mother forgave her for the attempt
This one really made me deeply sad
https://preview.redd.it/nd1ih0no32pc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52e404dcb3249f9730eb909001d6b4cac559a103
Seasons of Blossom 2nd-4th arc was probably one of the heaviest romance manhwas I've read and not for the weak hearted ones that can trigger PTSD from bullying and su\*cide.
The Horizon was god tier as well, gave me existential crisis the night I finished it
The Boxer as well, god tier story with a beautiful ending, made me cry because it was so damn good
https://preview.redd.it/cjh34zbj52pc1.jpeg?width=690&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8826fc32e8174ffb6af696cdcba81280f067ab10
Return of the blossoming blade, this had me on the floor bawling my eyes out
Seasons of Blossom. Hamin's Flower was kind of relatable for me because i had a close cousin who >!commited suicide!<, and I was really upset that she didn't tell me anything because we were so close. I didn't even get a chance to say bye. This was a few years ago so I don't really feel as strongly but reading it reminded me of it.
This is such a well written manhwa though, I really recommend it.
https://preview.redd.it/5nkngiav86pc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1f5c8fe85ea7ed53eefed70f76f58cf61ccaf66d
The House Without Time
Mc's background got me unprepared, It was absolutely soul-crushing and tragic
He literally lost his loved ones due to his lack of confidence and the whole thing made me TEAR UP like crazy. Despite being initially a sad story, the later world-building and the fmc's uplifiting journey with him compesates everything. Such a great read.
No manhwa can make me fully cry, except wholesome moments. Sad moments just don't hit diff in manhwa. ( If you know any very sad manhwa, then please recommend )
The 10 years where I loved you the most, literally makes me cry just by thinking about it. A literal tragedy manhwa,
https://preview.redd.it/9xuqmhenu2pc1.jpeg?width=256&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=404de84b1b618771ac74bd8954f01a2a49a4e35d
The end letters the shitty bf wrote to him post death and the doctor saying he would never love anyone ever again while the mc just said the name of the bf while dying in his arms ☹️. The whole point of the manhwa is knowing he is going to die but it was still so insanely miserable. In another life the mc stayed in school to become a doctor, broke up w his bf and had a coworker meet cute love story 💔
since someone mentioned orv, "trash of the count's family" made me bawl (only the novel, manhwa hasn't covered enough yet)
edit: also, can't believe no one has mentioned it but "who made me a princess" is a tear-jerker in the later part
https://preview.redd.it/jpleay5ga2pc1.jpeg?width=690&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=99886c0ac3d6c032fc0084e8a9cda86a580bd2db
Blue Flame had me on the fucking floor
1.Super daddy yeol
2. Can't remember the title but the mc got trouble with his job and found that he is terminally sick and goes home but is too ashamed to show his face so he put paper bag on his face and was acting like a superhero to his boy child( that is kinda sick)
3. 99+ wooden stick ( a chapter about the little girl that was giving away all her belongings to newbies on the newbie town, she was bright and charming but after relogging in......................)
Was it called mirror sword king where the boy finds a mirror that takes him to a martial world and the girl he loves (blue hair ) becomes his protector I remember balling my eyes out

This witch of mine. First time I actually ugly sobbed on a manhwa...
The cat growing up and moving on with her life is what really broke me
for me the saddest moment was when the mc (the one who didn't have an arm) was hanged when he went to help people. and when he had to kill the red haired witch and everyone was celebrating it while he was out there waiting for her to come back. cat moving on was bitter sweet tbh. it was more on a sad side until the red haired witch came back. I wished they would reunite.
Fuck even hearing it makes me cry. My day ruined *
Same. So many plot twists that broke me. The poor FL.
Immediately read this, and now I can't stop crying. I love the question/perspectives on what love is.
An Uncomfortable Truth. Had me sobbing and hiccuping for hours. https://preview.redd.it/pm1hsrd9szoc1.jpeg?width=840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=31ef92a7ebe18c7b262fe2f51a553c1fbbb39026

Re-reading the last and second last chapter never fails to make me cry, this was fr such a good and tragic manhwa. None of the characters deserved those treatment 😭
Is this manhwa a BL?
No, but the younger stepbrother is unhealthily obsessed with his older brother
I see, thank you.

Wow I actually just started reading this but paused on chapter 22 because I have maths exam tomorrow. Omg
What’s it about
i just wanted to say that i ended up binge-reading this after seeing your comment, and that last chapter in particular absolutely BROKE me. the characters were charming yet flawed and just so incredibly human, the backstories were unraveled perfectly... everything was an honest 10/10. such an amazing read, thank you
Sweet Home
>!There’s a happy ending!<
Nah. Hyun’s whole backstory got me out here thinking bro should’ve just let humanity die.
Same. I don't I could ever recover from that.
>! It's more like a set up for a sequel than a happy ending, especially with the way shotgun boy ended!<
Oh definitely this one 😭
Sweet home hurt but it was written so well that author writes amazingly just like with bastard

51% chance you will, 49% chance you won’t :)
Please stop😭

How far away is this reference for us Manhwa readers? I wanna be gut punched already
The very end of the novel lol. Wait patiently….or read the novel lol
U guys rn are at dark castle right? A little more time one of the sad moment will come(I don't know about manhwa progression sooo)
It'll come. Take in the happy parts while it lasts.
I feel like this is a super niche reference and it lowkey might be what pushes me to read it.
It’s a joke about the epilogue but all throughout it is amazing
It feels like at least half of the ORV fanfics on AO3 are novel readers trying to cope after being emotionally wrecked by the ending🥲
[удалено]
Still, the epilogue hit hard on another level, even if it all ended well. The things we learnt in those 51(?) chapters forever changed my view on the story

There will be some tears in a few chapters as well…
Manwha fans aren’t even ready for it. IM not read for it
now i wana read the novel. Where to read it?
My original comment got removed. I read it on light novel world
Anyone care to spoil what this is and what those percentages mean? I don't really mind spoilers.

I sobbed for a good while and was straight up depressed after reading the ending. If I could isekai in any novel I would choose ORV only for Dokja.

Misery porn lmao, accurate af
If you get past season 1 then you will be surprised how well it is .

No manhwa has ever made me fully cry the most one did was make me tear up that being the doll house section of SSS class suicide Hunter
The murim arc made me tear up a little too
And the ten days arc
Imagine being able to restart a million times but you still can't save your teacher.
I can attest to that. That one got me a good sobbing out. I still feel the wretches in my heart when I see that one panel of him saying "Caught you!" "You're wrong! Hehe!"
1 second
Frrrr. I was crying over Wonho for so long🥲
It was so unexpected, it was out of nowhere.
I just read it this year, and already reread the whole thing (at least what's available in webtoon). Still hurts. 💔

#2 To Not Die - (iykyk) #3 SSS-Suicide Hunter - for the dollhouse chapters, this one actually made me a fan because I wasn't expecting this kind of scene from the black hair leveling manhwa
+99 reinforced stick Not the series but a specific part

* I though this was a nice read, got me sad with the deaths. A world that i rule
I was looking flr someome to mention this 😭
Days of Hana The part where choco dies got me sobbing fr
A mark against thee. Like a one night stand it sucked me dry for my coins and left me feeling empty. Amazing manhwa. https://preview.redd.it/qeis5go5a0pc1.png?width=432&format=png&auto=webp&s=9b66f8d908dc62f0e2889158e1a8ff7e63b87aa8
Whats it about?
No home
'Efforts Never Betray' and 'An uncomfortable truth' both had me crying at the end, and definitely would make me cry on re-read. Both are such good stories and such tragic too. I love both.
Holy shit I didn't think anyone here would know Efforts Never Betray. The ending lives rent-free in my head because of how realistic it is
Other than the orv novel (which completely emotionally destroyed and traumatized me), I'd have to go with Flow. It's pretty short but goddamn the ending is so good. Oh yeah and Black Haze because of how it essentially got axed.
Three manhwa have made me cry: 1. My daughter is a Zombie 2. The Horizon 3. Dr. Frost
Never cried, but these three made me tear up A returner’s magic should be special To not die The boxer
This Star Imagine something starts out sad becomes happier and happier until everything is ripped from you again. I can highly recommend it.
Olgami: Trapped It didn't make me cry but it made me traumatized 🥲 I sit here thinking about it randomly at times and getting stuck in my head
I will be honest I've never cried reading manwha but The horizon got me the closest, still the GOAT tho
Duchess has a death wish. Fuck! The first 38 chapters were BRUTAL! The depression and suicidal behaviour is so real. Even the little details when she failed her attempt cos someone intervened and she >!“doesn’t feel like attempting twice in one day”.!< Just seeing the light in her eyes fade when she remembers and relives her deep grief and trauma. UGH! >!And then the scene of her having a conversation with her dead sister after attempting suicide. My soul was crushed!!! Especially when it hints at the late sisters’ sacrifice!< It’s my guilty pleasure to re-read this manhwa for the sheer angst of it all
I adore this manhwa way too much for the quality and the scene where her parents just accepted her as who she was and had a convo post attempt had me bawling my eyes out. I seriously need a new update because I am unhealthily obsessed with the magician edit: I have a tear tracker app and I literally documented the cry LMAO it was specially chapter 38 when her mother forgave her for the attempt
Not a manhwa but an anime, cyberpunk edgerunners, sill cant get over that song.
“My boo.” That one destroyed me
This one really made me deeply sad https://preview.redd.it/nd1ih0no32pc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=52e404dcb3249f9730eb909001d6b4cac559a103
Seasons of Blossom 2nd-4th arc was probably one of the heaviest romance manhwas I've read and not for the weak hearted ones that can trigger PTSD from bullying and su\*cide. The Horizon was god tier as well, gave me existential crisis the night I finished it The Boxer as well, god tier story with a beautiful ending, made me cry because it was so damn good
"I'm Not That kind of Talent" made me sob like mad at the end of season 1
No home/homeless, I love it so much but some moments definitely hit hard
Not a manhwa but madoka magica. I died then
**[Mom, Im Sorry]**, there really isn't any other better way to tug at heartstrings than one involving a mom and her son.
Helck, it's highly emocional.
Thats a manga
Helck and the sequel, are both so good.
Existence was really sad at the beginning
sss-class suicide hunter burning dolls

To your eternity. Supreme magus. Mother of learning. The last two are web novel
Karina's Last Days. I don't like reading sad manhwas and Karina's life just makes me so sad

Latna Saga........so many deaths.........so many
The girl downstairs
The 10 years where I loved you the most, literally makes me cry just by thinking about it. A literal tragedy manhwa, https://preview.redd.it/9xuqmhenu2pc1.jpeg?width=256&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=404de84b1b618771ac74bd8954f01a2a49a4e35d
The end letters the shitty bf wrote to him post death and the doctor saying he would never love anyone ever again while the mc just said the name of the bf while dying in his arms ☹️. The whole point of the manhwa is knowing he is going to die but it was still so insanely miserable. In another life the mc stayed in school to become a doctor, broke up w his bf and had a coworker meet cute love story 💔
strawberry market. both MCs background is sad af.
dragon ego
The world ruled by cats 🙌🏻my first and the most loved one.
Dude honestly Weak Hero hit me hard at the end..
Ive never cried give me saddest manhwa know in existence if I cry I will give u a big sum of $0
"My Daughter is a Zombie" is both really funny and really depressing
The boxer T__T Also recently a regressors tale of cultivation (it’s a Korean webnovel)

The Wicked Queen, Black Winter, The Unwelcome Guests of House Fildette
"Her summon" is underrated, and it has an amazing art style
since someone mentioned orv, "trash of the count's family" made me bawl (only the novel, manhwa hasn't covered enough yet) edit: also, can't believe no one has mentioned it but "who made me a princess" is a tear-jerker in the later part
' My life as a loser.' The trauma of poor jinu really made me emotional.

Someone likes Carnby Kim
I'm going to die soon, the horizon and Mom, I'm sorry
1.Super daddy yeol 2. Can't remember the title but the mc got trouble with his job and found that he is terminally sick and goes home but is too ashamed to show his face so he put paper bag on his face and was acting like a superhero to his boy child( that is kinda sick) 3. 99+ wooden stick ( a chapter about the little girl that was giving away all her belongings to newbies on the newbie town, she was bright and charming but after relogging in......................)
I Will Die Soon had me fked up and sobbing
Someone else's bl. I sobbed so bad while reading this.
Like Wind on a Dry Branch
I Shall Live as the Prince / My Royal Awakening wasn’t too sad throughout but the last dozen or so chapters just. Completely wrecked me.
touch to unlock- bro i got hella emotional at the end. i just felt bad like...............
Mystic prince it was so beautiful
Gourmet Gamer I think, bros life is so sad
The Horizon and Days of Hana
Crime and Punishment
Beginning after the end , didn’t make me cry yet it all went downhill and so many tragedies one after another
Fire punch. That shit made me feel all of the emotions.
Omniscient Reader’s ending has ruined me forever
Family Man.
Existence
Was it called mirror sword king where the boy finds a mirror that takes him to a martial world and the girl he loves (blue hair ) becomes his protector I remember balling my eyes out
Days of Hana
The Hopeless Desire of a Witch (this was the first one off the top of my head, there's probably more, but I'd have to check my completed list)
