The US has the [Bass Pro Shops Pyramid](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memphis_Pyramid)

ChanoTheDestroyer

Cahokia mounds in Illinois

Three_Twenty-Three

Cahokia has a pyramidal mound AND a (wood) henge. That's like two for one.

TwoDangerous893

Rhe mound builders did more pyramids than just calkohia.

Status_Ad_4405

Came here to say this

boringdude00

Only because you stole it. From Missouri by rerouting the Mississippi river. Yeah, we see that oxxbow lake sitting there right next door and we know.

Silver_Falcon

Cahokia would still be on the Illinois side of the river even if the Mississippi still flowed through Horseshoe lake.

ChanoTheDestroyer

Oh no, the oxbow lake has been mentioned again. Quick, cover it up!

TFielding38

I didn't know the Native Americans invented Bass Pro Shop

downnoutsavant

And the mounds at Poverty Point in Louisiana

mkujoe

And the luxor in vegas

WWDB

And the TransAmerican? Skyscraper in San Francisco

mkujoe

We prefer gender reassigned pyramid

goingtocalifornia__

I was gonna say do the Cahokia Mounds count but Bass Pro is obviously of more historical significance

Chex__LeMeneux

[Here's a video about it.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYE-1HfReQo)

Onceagainathroaway

Why is it age restricted

Chex__LeMeneux

Youtube doesn't want you to know the truth about the 7th largest pyramid.

Other_Young8682

Boo...I was 100% expecting to get Rick Rolled. Shocker I know.

Tooly23

And Quebec got not one, but two pyramids! The [Sainte-Foy Pyramid](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/9/9c/La_Pyramide_de_Sainte-Foy_8.jpg/1200px-La_Pyramide_de_Sainte-Foy_8.jpg), and the [Ha! Ha! Pyramid.](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/79/Pyramide_des_Ha%21_Ha%21.jpg)

LeatherPie911

Quebec is not a country yet

Hugheston987

Moody gardens in Galveston TX

boringdude00

Ain't nothing says sporting goods more than a pyramid. I always say that.

Samotauss

Isn't it the 4th largest pyramid in the world, or something?

[deleted]

Came here to post this. OP will suffer the Curse of Johnny Morris

SyrupUsed8821

Lollipop126

Milton Keynes, UK has [The Point] (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Point,_Milton_Keynes)

NefariousnessGlum808

Napoleon's soldiers single handedly trying to increase Netherland's average altitude

DjBiohazard91

Posted this too. \*high fives\*

Knoblauchknolle

Germany too, build from around 1856. Both Build by Prince Pückler, known today for Prince Pückler ice cream. https://www.pueckler-museum.de/en/park-palace/branitz-park/#:~:text=Pyramids,earth%20and%20planted%20with%20greenery.

50Blessings

Germany will have a pyramid in 3183, so I'd consider it historical [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeitpyramide](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zeitpyramide)

Thefullerexpress

Will the original blocks be eroded by the time of completion? It says they're using concrete and we're 1100 years from completion. Someone eli5.

tostuo

I believe the point is for them to slightly decay/errode, so you can see the passage of time view the blocks. But as long as you maintain the concrete it should last forever.

bringelschlaechter

There is also a [Pyramid in Karlsruhe](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karlsruhe_Pyramid), which even is a grave

webchimp32

[ The 1,200 Year Maths Mistake](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAdmpAZTH_M)

FalseDmitriy

Monks Mound in Illinois and its smaller Mississippian predecessors/imitators are absolutely pyramids. Built around the tenth century. Edit, I didn't realize this is the cj sub. Do your thing

The_Category_Is_

lol and yet OP was offended at someone mentioning bass pro shop

FalseDmitriy

Maybe OP is as lost as I am. Maybe we all are.

The_Category_Is_

DeseptionReception

The_Category_Is_

Didn’t say “personally offended”

DeseptionReception

Exactly, im personally offended and you didn’t say that, now im even more offended. How dare you?

pm-ur-knockers

Yea well I’m offended that you’re offended. Asshole.

DeseptionReception

pm-ur-knockers

Please

imstlllvnginabthtb

this.

hoovervillain

where are they pyramid shaped? the ones I've seen are rounded or other shape. They theorize they could have been more pyramidal when built but afaik there's no concrete evidence.

FalseDmitriy

There were different kinds of mounds (conical, ridgetop, the pre-Mississippian effigy mounds), but the biggest ones were four-sided platform mounds, and the biggest of those were shaped very much like Mesoamerican pyramids made of earth and wood. Monks Mound is the biggest of all and it's still visibly pyramid-shaped.

ReasonableDonut1

There probably isn't any concrete at all.

roydepoy

The US has loads of Pyramid schemes

DeseptionReception

hmm you have a *point*

ArthRol

You have not heard of famous 1990s pyramids of Russia and their chief architect Serghei Mavrodi

bandit4loboloco

Dude, please. The preferred nomenclature is MultiLevel Marketing. Or Secular Business Cult. Either is acceptable.

FishbedFive

excuse me what the fuck the bass pro shops pyramid in the US is absolutely historic on a mass scale do not disrespect it how dare you

DeseptionReception

built by aliens smh

Alias_X_

If we define the word "historical" as r/HistoryMemes does it, any pyramids from the 1990s or earlier count, therefore at least the US, China, Germany and Austria have them.

DeseptionReception

I define historical as in hundreds to thousands of years ago. Pyramids that played into ancient history of these countries

weerribben

Hundreds? So the pyramid of Austerlitz in the Netherlands counts? Its at least 200 years old https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_of_Austerlitz

DeseptionReception

TheRealzZap

Why is Bosnia not green, the oldest pyramids in the world are in Bosnia

CMac_2001

No they aren’t. Those are a scam devised by a business man to make his town famous. He’s received over a million dollars in donations to his organization due to this misconception. They’re naturally occurring mountains with a pyramid like shape.

TheRealzZap

No shit sherlock it's a joke

CMac_2001

The Ancient aliens crowd believes in them…

Yetiish

I’m pretty sure Djokovic believes in them…

HartOne827183

Djokovic is just a nutjob

DeseptionReception

Isnt the oldest pyramid supposedly debated between Egypt and Indonesia?

N-U-T

He's referencing a scam where a Bosnian businessman is trying to say that a mountain is actually a pyramid. Even though the geological layers are literally the same as the Mountains around it.

DeseptionReception

ohhh hahaha i remember that now

Next_Seaweed9951

DeseptionReception

Try making them angry, maybe they’ll turn red like in cartoons

ButtholeQuiver

Saberdile

Monks Mound at Cahokia in Illinois, USA is a pyramid, the largest north of Mesoamerica.

EmperorThan

Not that I want to get too angry and clutch my pearls about a circlejerk post but Bolivia has historical pyramids. They're just not very tall. The Akapana of Tiwanaku is entirely manmade but it's only about 60 feet tall.

wankeraddict69

You're correct. Archaeologists say most of it is underground (apparently).

Mako_sato_ftw

what are the red and white (mainly india and china) about? is the idea or hypothesis that they had pyramids at some point disputed in some way?

DeseptionReception

It’s because the pyramids there aren’t often regarded as pyramids, sometimes not even shaped like one. Paired with the fact that their uses in history are completely different from any in the green

bluzed1981

Missouri and Ohio have mounds built by Native Americans. Take a look at Cahokia and the great serpent mound
