I saw Dune 2 in IMAX, and at the end of the movie when Paul yells, "Silence!" To the emperor's Reverend Mother, my whole theater boomed.
Made me wonder what it's like being in the theatres near. Like they're just chilling watching Anyone But You, and then all of a sudden the side of their theatre starts shaking like an Earthquake
>Made me wonder what it's like being in the theatres near.
I went to see Uncharted while The Batman was playing in the next theater over and about half way through the car chase scene starts blasting through the wall with the sounds of the engines and the crashing and the theme song drowning out Tom Holland. Funniest and most memorable part of that movie tbh.
I went to see Hereditary while Jurassic World was playing next door, it got to a really quiet tense part then all of a sudden all you could hear was BOOMB BOOOOOM ROOOOOAAARRRRR
When I watched Barbie the whole theatre was shaking from Oppenheimer being screened next door. Was very funny watching Ryan Gosling do his heartbroken Ken speech to the Nolan horns/music in the background
And Galactus will have alt-universe female herald Surfer. Now imagine she gets abducted by Mephisto (*oh yes, I went there*), and we get to hear Galactus say, “You have taken from me what is mine! I will have her back! *SO SPEAKS GALACTUS!!!*”
I can’t see that happening. Her career trajectory is at a new level now, unless they plan to make Magic a lead to accommodate the star similar to what they did with JLaw / Mystique
I was in the same boat! Like I recognize this name, but none of these movies they’re mentioning. Once I looked up his IMDb I was floored that it was FFXVI I knew him from. Unbelievably hyped for this movie now
He frequents my old local in Wandsworth regularly. I’d just been to the cinema to watch The Pope’s Exorcist, where he voiced the demon, and then went for a pint. Jumped a bit stood at the bar and hearing the demon’s voice ordring a pint and a G&T.
Hopefully it's actually Galactus a giant being with a stupid helmet and not a fart cloud like the Fox movies
![gif](giphy|LKqYjxtXdRQ0bTwmIo|downsized)
I'm just realizing that Galactus will need to be significantly bigger than Arishem. Like if he's gonna try to eat Earth in one bite, he's gonna need to be huge
That’s not how he eats planets tho lol. He “eats” them by draining away their essence slowly, if I remember correctly. Plus, anything that comically large would kinda stray into the uncanny valley. The cgi would be great but it may look silly
> if I remember correctly
You remember correctly. It isn't a slow process, though. Galactus can absorb a planet's energy pretty fast. He can also absorb the energy of other cosmic beings. So he could feed on the Celestials, too.
Lmfao he doesn’t literally eat planets. And also in Eternals we see celestials can change their size, we literally see them creating solar systems in the palm of their hand
I mean, they modeled the character after Wright and the format was animated across the board. If Watcher comes to live action, it’ll be Wright with a big head.
Right, but they didn’t get Jeffrey Wright to play the statue, now did they?
Edit: Also, also, that statue was in the background for like, a couple of seconds, tops. They’re not gonna model it after Jeffrey Wright for just a fleeting moment of screen time. It’s just a bald dude in a toga.
The fact that they’ve at least cast a human in the role is promising, it implies that there will be dialogue, which somewhat implies that it might come from a physical being lol
One of Ineson's standout qualities is his deep, resonant voice. Galactus is a character of immense power and cosmic significance, and having a commanding voice is crucial to capturing that essence.
How is "John Malkovich has also signed on" not bigger news?
Scenery chewing actor, famous for playing bad guys.
He's got to be doing something fun in the movie.
I Iove John Malkovich so if his entire role is to read a can of beans, I'd still go see it lol. He's such a fun actor to watch.
Shades of Defoe on the scenery chewing side lol.
When I hear his voice as Galactus I immediately think of Silver Surfer Black where Norrin finds the old Seed and talks with Galan. Their little talk is so well done and his voice fits that idea of Galactus. I think they nailed this choice
Reed gives a rousing speech spurring the fantastic four into action. Galactus eats Earth in one gulp. Silver surfer looks at galactus curiously. Galactus: “it was a good speech, I didn’t want to interrupt”
Love his voice. He narrated a trailer for the Green Knight a few years ago and he alone convinced me to check out the movie: https://youtu.be/yI189R6JyYI?si=KiB6KAQO8U3o1Ixs
They got Rick from Ready Player One? That's awesome!
For real, though, another actor that's already played a completely different, unrelated character in the MCU! How many more can they get?
OK this supports my theory. If they're going with Galactus straight out the gate in the first movie, then:
* The F4 movie is set in another timeline where it's still the 1960s/1970s
* Shalla Bal is the Silver Surfer in this one because it's an alternate timeline and she's a variant
* She arrives at Earth, it's an epic fight to save the planet
* Galactus arrives, the F4 lose, Earth is destroyed, possibly the entire timeline
* The F4, with only seconds left to live, escape to another timeline via a time machine similar to the Endgame one
* The movie ends with them arriving dramatically in the MCU like Cap waking up from his ice nap, only instead of Nick Fury it's Dr Strange and/or Wong telling them that they don't belong here and that they need to leave before they cause an incursion
Bonus theory:
* The sequel is called "The Fantastic Eight" as this team comes to terms with the fact that the MCU already has a Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm.
He literally has one of the best voices in the industry. That is an EXTRAORDINARY choice!
i can't wait for it to thunder in theatres
what if they do the Dune voice thing where it fucking shakes the theater
I saw Dune 2 in IMAX, and at the end of the movie when Paul yells, "Silence!" To the emperor's Reverend Mother, my whole theater boomed. Made me wonder what it's like being in the theatres near. Like they're just chilling watching Anyone But You, and then all of a sudden the side of their theatre starts shaking like an Earthquake
>Made me wonder what it's like being in the theatres near. When I watched Barbie the whole theatre was shaking from Oppenheimer being screened next door. Was very funny watching Ryan Gosling do his heartbroken Ken speech to the Nolan horns/music in the background
I saw it in Dolby Digital, it shook the seats
don’t threaten me with a good time
It's a voice that is, frankly, PERFECT for a From Software game.
Even more perfect for a Square Enix game...
I see what you're doing
And a Blizzard game...
I believe the correct pronunciation is Squeenix
I thought Sir Vilhelm was Ineson the first time I played DS3.
I can't wait to nail every part of their quest line and have them die tragically
Was gonna say, if people wanted a voice with gravitas they definitely picked correctly. Great choice
He narrated the Diablo 4 promo YouTube series and I could listen to that for hours. He has the most mesmerizing voice especially in fantasy content!
Probably because he was the voice of Lorath in Diablo 4
The guy knows the comic lore too.
He's a main character in the game lol.
Loved him as Kevdak in Legend of Vox Machina. That show (unsurprisingly) has an absolutely stacked voice cast.
Oh I forgot he was Kevdak, yeah It was a great choice
[удалено]
And the masseuse that kissed Roy's arse in The IT Crowd
And a bloody good rep in The Office UK
Have an example?
He played Cid in FF16 game
FF16 Voice Acting is GOAT! Cid really elevated this game
From The Green Knight https://youtu.be/XeZizMK7fxw?si=dzT4B7juPsXVzG0x For Diablo 4 https://youtu.be/bEfVNgk_Hho?si=Gyy1_nKUDgRfO4k_
Such a creepy voice. He will be perfect
Okay, to be honest, I had no clue who this guy was or what he sounded like until I watched these two videos. Holy shit — I’m seriously impressed!
Him as Cid in FF16, where he gives a PHENOMENAL performance: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XwvQ_Xam0c
Yeah I don’t hate it. If it’s his face under the big celestial headdress I think he’s got a good head shape for it too
If any eldritch being can out-thunder Arishem, it's him.
I’m a straight dude but damn
If that ain't great casting, I don't know what it is
And Galactus will have alt-universe female herald Surfer. Now imagine she gets abducted by Mephisto (*oh yes, I went there*), and we get to hear Galactus say, “You have taken from me what is mine! I will have her back! *SO SPEAKS GALACTUS!!!*”
But what if Mephisto!! 🫢
And then we discover that 🎶it was Agatha all along🎶
Dude this is the dad from The Witch. He might have the greatest voice in Hollywood
He was great as The Green Knight as well.
He made a small cameo in the Northman but I immediately recognized him just from his voice
Such an underrated movie and one of the most beautiful films of the decade.
SUCH a great film. I watched it on a plane and I was just mesmerized the entire flight.
It's gonna be a Vvitch reunion if we get Anya Taylor Joy back as Magik eventually.
I hope Black Philip makes a cameo appearance too
Memphisto confirmed?
Wouldst thou like the taste of one more day?
Poor Erik Voss
I want to live deliciously dammit!
Black Tom from Deadpool 2 might appear as a variant, if the rumors are true.
I really hope this time he has his cool stick, a castle, and his magical leprechaun servants that mysteriously know Wolverine's name.
I can’t see that happening. Her career trajectory is at a new level now, unless they plan to make Magic a lead to accommodate the star similar to what they did with JLaw / Mystique
![gif](giphy|7ZvPlxBHwfK1y) best voice in Hollywood!
gifs you can hear
Also Theon Greyjoy's first mate in S2 of GoT
He can definitely throw this planet over that building. EXCELLENT. Such a commanding giant in The Green Knight.
>He can definitely throw this planet over that building Silver Surfer to Reed: "He's thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you ever done?"
Bloody good rep.
One. Year. Hence.
That’s the real quiz.
Bloody good rep
Just tie a shoelace over it
Me, pint. Gareth, pint. Galactus, planets, sometimes cider. Different drinks for different... Needs.
His voice work as Cid in Final Fantasy 16 was incredible. What an excellent choice for Galactus!
NO WAY HES CID?!? Ok now I’m excited
Ah man, I loved Cid. Guess I'll be watching this one.
Fucking Cid is Galactus? Holy God tier casting.
So that’s where I recognized the name. That is going to be perfect!
I was in the same boat! Like I recognize this name, but none of these movies they’re mentioning. Once I looked up his IMDb I was floored that it was FFXVI I knew him from. Unbelievably hyped for this movie now
He was in Diablo 4 & Game of Thrones as well. Very recognizable voice.
You’re gonna have to be a little more specific. There are A LOT of Cids.
Final Fantasy XVI's.
I immediately assumed Sid the sloth even though its spelt different
"What's up, my mammals?" *devours planet*
Yup. John Leguizano is Galactus
Cid is the best character for me in FF16 so i cant fucking wait!!
Great voice
This dude’s voice is incredible, hope he does well!
What an absolute joyful bit of casting that is. One for the northern lads and lasses. I want Galactus to have the deepest, broadest Yorkshire accent.
"Behold, T' Power Cosmic itself!"
Magnificent
"Bloody 'eck, it's T'Ultimate Nullifier!"
Can’t wait for him to pop up on screen and tell us about the Dacia range.
"So speaks I, G'lactus"
Bloody good rep.
This is all I can think. Him showing up at FF4 HQ and asking them all if they're going to Chasers tonight.
You look like you've had a Pot Noodle and a wank mate
Give me half an hour with her and I’ll be up to my nuts in guts
I’m not saying Mole Man is fat but he jumps in the air he gets stuck
Ah, Finchy... *Adjusts tie*
Galactus, why don’t you fuck off.
He had a small role in Chernobyl but absolutely killed it. Love this casting
I’m re-watching Chernobyl currently. Just got to the episode he’s introduced this morning. Amazing voice, amazing actor !
“These are the most important 90 seconds of your lives…”
The roof clean up scene…just, wow.
Go listen to his voice acting in Diablo 4 if you want to get even more hyped.
Finchy?
Bloody good rep
Galactus has thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?
Won a quiz
I'm glad they cast a dude who's familiar with doing voice work. Galactus needs an iconic voice and Dagmer Cleftjaw has a fantastic one.
Had to scroll too far to find a Cleftjaw reference.
Plot twist they're going to have him be himself, no CGI in the film 🫣 He'll still kill it but imagine if they went that route lol
So perfect !
Holy shit, they got The Green Knight!
![gif](giphy|4KF85OSbyjVOfyjksJ|downsized)
I wanted Javier Bardem, but if you guys think he's a good choice I'm all for it. LFG. EDIT: Holly sh¡t, this guy has an awesome voice.
Check out the movie The Green Knight. You’ll give him your approval after hearing him in that.
I was rooting for Antonio Banderas. It just felt right.
Banderas would be cool as well, but I love Bardem. Maybe he could play Dr. Doom, now.
Oooo Javier Bardem would be a great choice as well. Such a great actor.
He frequents my old local in Wandsworth regularly. I’d just been to the cinema to watch The Pope’s Exorcist, where he voiced the demon, and then went for a pint. Jumped a bit stood at the bar and hearing the demon’s voice ordring a pint and a G&T.
Hopefully it's actually Galactus a giant being with a stupid helmet and not a fart cloud like the Fox movies ![gif](giphy|LKqYjxtXdRQ0bTwmIo|downsized)
We have already seen Galactus like figures in the MCU.
Yeah they made Celestials look grand and imposing in Eternals they sure as hell can make Galactus look good
Is it possible they will make Galactus a corrupted Celestial?
I'm just realizing that Galactus will need to be significantly bigger than Arishem. Like if he's gonna try to eat Earth in one bite, he's gonna need to be huge
That’s not how he eats planets tho lol. He “eats” them by draining away their essence slowly, if I remember correctly. Plus, anything that comically large would kinda stray into the uncanny valley. The cgi would be great but it may look silly
> if I remember correctly You remember correctly. It isn't a slow process, though. Galactus can absorb a planet's energy pretty fast. He can also absorb the energy of other cosmic beings. So he could feed on the Celestials, too.
Maybe that's what MCUlactus actually does - eat celestial eggs.
Lmfao he doesn’t literally eat planets. And also in Eternals we see celestials can change their size, we literally see them creating solar systems in the palm of their hand
We've gotten the Celestials in the MCU, so Galactus wouldn't be too farfetched I guess.
I don't think they would have an actual actor if he wasn't going to be the helmeted devourer of worlds.
They have Jeffrey Wright just for voice acting. It's not impossible.
I mean, they modeled the character after Wright and the format was animated across the board. If Watcher comes to live action, it’ll be Wright with a big head.
> If Watcher comes to live action The Watchers were already shown in live action MCU: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcoF2mtcR-g
Hearing Stan say "I've got so many more stories to tell" was kinda sad, tbh
Uatu the Watcher hasn’t appeared outside of animation yet, let’s wait and see what they do if he does pop into a live action movie or series.
He was a statue in Love & Thunder
Right, but they didn’t get Jeffrey Wright to play the statue, now did they? Edit: Also, also, that statue was in the background for like, a couple of seconds, tops. They’re not gonna model it after Jeffrey Wright for just a fleeting moment of screen time. It’s just a bald dude in a toga.
In addition to this, the Watchers were already shown in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcoF2mtcR-g
Didn't we get watchers in Guardian of the Galaxy 2?
Not what I was getting at but I agree. If Galactus was going to just be a cloud they wouldn't have someone be the voice.
The fact that they’ve at least cast a human in the role is promising, it implies that there will be dialogue, which somewhat implies that it might come from a physical being lol
I trust the MCU & Feige to get Galactus right.
There is about a 200% chance it WONT be a cloud. No worries.
That which is dead may never die
Insanely great choice. His Cid was incredible.
100%. Easily my favorite Cid in the entire FF series.
He’ll talk about how he will devour our world, but will also tell his how much our antiques are worth before doing so.
The Puppet Master seems to be a popular guess.
I Iove John Malkovich so if his entire role is to read a can of beans, I'd still go see it lol. He's such a fun actor to watch. Shades of Defoe on the scenery chewing side lol.
![gif](giphy|Hf0VGD0h6s1tm|downsized) He'll always be the British Todd Packer to me.
I’d argue that the other guy is the American Chris Finch
![gif](giphy|u3dsD4786aaVW|downsized) YOU have the accurate take my friend.
One up the bum, no harm done.
SQUEAL PIGGY, SQUEAL!!
Hey Chris why don't you fuck off
...very clever.
Me: who? Shoulda been John Noble Googles: oh. Him. Fuck. Yeah that'll be fun in IMAX
I like John Noble better because he has more gravitas IMO but Ineson is a great choice too.
Oh damn
Yeah his voice is PERFECT.
Dread it. Run from it. Sarah Finn's GOAT casting skills arrive all the same.
Yeah I heard about your Fantastic Four, your Avengers. You'll need more than that tonight. I eat a planet a week.
I mean the man does have the voice of a Lovecraftian planet eating cosmic beeping that has existed before the Big Bang
Bloody good choice for the role
![gif](giphy|MZocLC5dJprPTcrm65)
I hope it’s literally just him in a silly hat and no CGI whatsoever
Who knew Galactus was a Yorkshireman
FuuuUUUUUUCK me I needed this!!!!
When I hear his voice as Galactus I immediately think of Silver Surfer Black where Norrin finds the old Seed and talks with Galan. Their little talk is so well done and his voice fits that idea of Galactus. I think they nailed this choice
Chris Finch from the Office is gonna eat planets wtf.
Reed gives a rousing speech spurring the fantastic four into action. Galactus eats Earth in one gulp. Silver surfer looks at galactus curiously. Galactus: “it was a good speech, I didn’t want to interrupt”
We're getting Cid in the MCU. Thank you Marvel Studios. Thank you very much.
Shit it’s happening
Wasn't rumored, but not complaining.
I’m excited you guys are excited
oh fuck yeah. he’s rad as fuck. loved him in The VVitch. loved him in Green Knight. he was the best part of The First Omen
Oh man Cidolfus in the MCU! Ralph is going to be perfect, the dudes voice is incredible
Sarah Finn always wins.
Chris Finch, bloody good rep
Ben Starr about to be cast as Silver Surfer
The might be rise of silver suffering this. His voice but a different model
Oh damn! Haven't seen him in much but I reckon he's got a great voice.
I didn’t even think about him voicing Galactus, but wow, what a perfect casting choice. Can’t wait.
Nah this is perfect casting tbh
Cool choice.
Oh SHIT
Love his voice. He narrated a trailer for the Green Knight a few years ago and he alone convinced me to check out the movie: https://youtu.be/yI189R6JyYI?si=KiB6KAQO8U3o1Ixs
They got Rick from Ready Player One? That's awesome! For real, though, another actor that's already played a completely different, unrelated character in the MCU! How many more can they get?
He’s thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you ever done?
Someone said they should rename it Fantastic Fuglies 😭
*sigh* Do we really need to jump straight to Galactus again?
Hollywood gonna keep making Fantastic 4 movies until they get a good one! 😂
OK this supports my theory. If they're going with Galactus straight out the gate in the first movie, then: * The F4 movie is set in another timeline where it's still the 1960s/1970s * Shalla Bal is the Silver Surfer in this one because it's an alternate timeline and she's a variant * She arrives at Earth, it's an epic fight to save the planet * Galactus arrives, the F4 lose, Earth is destroyed, possibly the entire timeline * The F4, with only seconds left to live, escape to another timeline via a time machine similar to the Endgame one * The movie ends with them arriving dramatically in the MCU like Cap waking up from his ice nap, only instead of Nick Fury it's Dr Strange and/or Wong telling them that they don't belong here and that they need to leave before they cause an incursion Bonus theory: * The sequel is called "The Fantastic Eight" as this team comes to terms with the fact that the MCU already has a Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm.
Damn I was hoping for the guy who played Steve Urkel
I personally wanted Christopher Judge, but he’s a great choice
Now get Henry Cavill for Doom and they’re done.
What a great choice!!
What a pick, SHF cooking He’s awesome
Solid casting that. His voice is mental
Nice choice imo
I wonder if this means galactus will be the big bad in ff and not a saga boss like thanos
Probably. Galactus doesn’t work as a big bad
This cast… my body is unprepared
