I never would have thought of the *LEGO Movie* one, but damn, that’s accurate.
While we’re on the subject, I also think Star-Lord (ironically voiced by Emmet) often gives a similar but less exaggerated vibe to Will Arnett’s portrayal of Batman from those movies. He wants to be cool and badass but he’s clearly very immature and borders on being a man-child, but it also has a tragic subtext since he still struggles to cope with his childhood trauma and is in many ways trapped in his younger mindset from that event.
Even though the character is voiced by Nick Fury, I can’t help but feel that the MCU’s Sam Wilson was at least partially influenced by Frozone from *The Incredibles*. To the point where I’m pretty sure the only other actor I could ever imagine playing the part aside from Samuel L. Jackson (who the role was intentionally written for) would probably be Anthony Mackie.
Ever since Taika Waititi reinvented the character, Thor kind of reminds me of Miguel from *The Road To El Dorado*. Which is admittedly ironic, considering Miguel is actually voiced by the first *Thor* movie’s director, Kenneth Branagh.
On the subject of Dreamworks, Tom Holland’s portrayal of Spider-Man often comes off as a less sarcastic version of Hiccup from *How To Train Your Dragon* (mainly the first movie). If there is a college trilogy after *No Way Home*, I could definitely see the older Peter maturing in a similar way to how Hiccup did in the two *HTTYD* sequels.
A water park has burned to the ground, and a
A tow truck has broken down
I always used to cry when I laughed
And then I was raped by a clown
Isn't that ironic?
> If there is a college trilogy after No Way Home, I could definitely see the older Peter maturing in a similar way to how Hiccup did in the two HTTYD sequels
so I'm going to be bawling during a Spider-Man movie? Good to know
This is one of the most over-used references. The only similarities are that a king is murdered by his brother and the prince must avenge him. Both stories also feature the king appearing as a ghost, though these scenes serve very different purposes.
My name is not BUDDY!!! And it's not IncrediBoy either! That ship has sailed. All I wanted was to help you. I only wanted to help! And what did you say to me!?
*Fly home Buddy, I work alone*
It’s funny you say Mysterio is like Syndrome (I agree), because someone awhile ago pointed out that The Incredibles and Iron Man 3 have the same plot, and Aldrich Killian is just like Syndrome (which I also agree with).
May - Delia Ketchum
Tony - Prof Oak
Vulture's gang - Team Rocket
Inexplicably absent father
The analogy breaks down at Misty and Brock but otherwise yeah it works.
I mean, I did get the Syndrome vibe from Mysterio, & his origin being tied to Tony (which I hate because of it being a retread of Vulture from Homecoming) reinforces that.

A good analysis but twice you used "ironic" when you meant "coincidental". Which was, coincidentally, a pet peeve of Bender's on Futurama.
Isn't that ironic
IRONICINORONIC
A water park has burned to the ground, and a A tow truck has broken down I always used to cry when I laughed And then I was raped by a clown Isn't that ironic?
You can't just have your characters announce how they feel! That makes me feel angry!
> If there is a college trilogy after No Way Home, I could definitely see the older Peter maturing in a similar way to how Hiccup did in the two HTTYD sequels so I'm going to be bawling during a Spider-Man movie? Good to know
The king Julian one is so completely accurate!
I mean Black Panther is basically Lion King
See Hamlet
I mean Hamlet is basically Lion King
I mean Lion King is basically Lion King
I mean Black Panther is basically Black Panther
I mean butt is basically legs
See Kimba the White Lion

I believe it's referred to because it literally served as a direct inspiration
I always thought Thor 1 was like lion king
Kinda both are. I feel like Black Panther is more on the nose given the whole big cat thing and the scenes under the stars talking to ancestors
Some of those are dead accurate Mysterio is syndrome
My name is not BUDDY!!! And it's not IncrediBoy either! That ship has sailed. All I wanted was to help you. I only wanted to help! And what did you say to me!? *Fly home Buddy, I work alone*
Both even remember major turning points on their way to becoming a villain differently to the actual events!
Yeah Mysterio-Syndrome was the biggest "Holy shit you're right!"
Loki is mega mind yes
Killian from IM3 is probably a better Syndrome parallel, but both are in the same vein!
Mysterio even did the whole fake being a hero to become more famous than the hero that fucked you over thing
Star lord reminds me of Rex dangervest
Bro, every subreddit I go to you are there. Lmaooo
Oh You just have weird luck then
I guess lol
That’s because he’s partially based on him. He’s a joke about Chris Pratt’s roles
I know
Others might not, just wanted to share :)
Come to think of it, Woody and Buzz could lead their own Civil War...
Underrated comment. Woody = Tony and Buzz = Cap. Never thought of it before but you got it exactly.
Chris Evans is playing buzz in the upcoming lightyear film
Dammit I forgot this!!
The comment above yours does not appear to be underrated. We would like to thank you for your vigilance and encourage you to continue rating comments.
It was at the time, bot!
Good bot
I would say that Buzz is more like Tony and Woody is more like Cap.
Woody and Tony have the same voice actor in Brazil.
I see Cap as Woody and Tony as Buzz
Look at your young toys fighting
It’s funny you say Mysterio is like Syndrome (I agree), because someone awhile ago pointed out that The Incredibles and Iron Man 3 have the same plot, and Aldrich Killian is just like Syndrome (which I also agree with).
Mordecai and Rigby with Shang-Chi and Katy is on the money
I saw a meme the other day where Sam & Bucky are compared to Flynn & Maximus from *Tangled*.
Does that make Steve Rapunzel?
Absolutely
That's America's ~~ass~~ hair. Edit: lol I didn't mean ass hair.
I don’t know why I feel this way when I read this comment.
Never seen anything more accurate. 💯
Hawkeye approves
Loki and Megamind are the most similar super villains and they are super. They have presentation!
Omg you're right 🤯
I read the Hela one as “Hella Magnificent” 😂
Well, they both are haha. No complaints here!
The Futurama one is SO accurate.
Nick fury totally reminds me of the freeze guy and the incredibles
In case you aren't joking, Samuel L. Jackson is the voice actor for Frozone lol.
Natasha and Kim Possible
Does that make Clint Ron?
The butt of all jokes? Yes
These are great - especially the Futurama/GOTG. Had never thought of that. Peter Parker and Ash Ketchum?
Peter Parker and Danny Fenton.
May - Delia Ketchum Tony - Prof Oak Vulture's gang - Team Rocket Inexplicably absent father The analogy breaks down at Misty and Brock but otherwise yeah it works.
Misty - MJ Brock - Ned Pikachu - the spider?
Great, now ever time I see Gamora throw a kick all I'm gonna hear is "HEE-YAH!" from Leela
The last one was WAY too obvious
This is way too accurate its scary lmfao
These are all remarkably accurate. Good job OP
My brother referred to the Thor movie with Maleficent accidentally, and it took me a second but I was like "Oh yeah that's pretty accurate" anyway.
Love this buzzfeed post!
The mega mind and regular show are to damn good
Nice observation OP. Really spot on!
My god, this is perfect!
Damn. These are all spot on (well, most of them are. Not sure who a few of these animated characters are).
WHY ARE THESE SO DAMN ACCURATE.
This list is so spot on it's crazy.
Ok but they are mordecai and rigby though
Loki mega mind and mysterio syndrome 😭😭 Edit: SHANG CHI AND KATY AS MORDECAI AND RIGBY
Love these! And great to see a Steven Universe mention - what a fantastic show.
dude these are so similar if u think abt it wtf
Mind=blown
Emmitt and Wildstyle remind me of Starlord and Betty Brant for some reason.
"Why are you touching my feet you lil dirty animal, did you finish you job? do you want to go on the arena? Yeah that's what I thought."
Oh shit Disney had blueprints. Way more than the source material
Cate Blanchett would of been great as Malificent.
These are all so valid oh my gahd
K that king Julien/grandmaster tho hahah too perfect
That Futurama one is perfect
That's... a good one
Can’t wait for the next one!
For Syndrome and Jake, it’s definitely the smile.
Damn! These are spot on!
guardians of the galaxy and the lego movie have the same plot. does that constitute as one reminding me of the other?
Great Post OP
Why are these so good tho 😳😳😳
King Julien and Grandmaster YES
the black panther/lion king comparison kinda hit me different, idk why lol
Natasha and Kim Possible too tbh
Shang-chi & Katie as Mordecai and Rigby is so perfect.
The futurama and GOTG one feels way too accurate. Same with Yellow Diamond and Ayesha.

Tony: Bojack Horseman
Nah. Bojack is way too broken even for Tony. Tony is a problem solver. Bojack is a problem starter.
***Ultron has entered the chat***
No good deed goes unpunished
Why does this have so many dislikes?
I mean, I did get the Syndrome vibe from Mysterio, & his origin being tied to Tony (which I hate because of it being a retread of Vulture from Homecoming) reinforces that.
do not compare mYsteRio to Syndrome
Nightwing and spiderman Prove me wrong
