I thought that we were looking up at shifter taking a step through a portal. their hand it stretched forward like a normal sorceress/sorcerer/sorcerey . Just the camera is under the ground so to say
I love that it not only turn skips your Snake Eye opponent, but it also turns off their Maxx C/Veilers/Drolls that they surely would’ve had for your turn.
Oh no I agree, but it’s at an all time high now, or so it seems. That and cards like the link fire charmer since you can yoink whatever they have sitting in grave.
Nah, branded can play through it pretty well
I've even seen some (cringe) branded players that use it because it hurts them less than snake-eyes
Rindbrumm + followup pass really isn't that bad of a board under shifter
Honestly I don’t want to downplay Branded because at the end of the day, it really is a deck that takes some level of precision, it’s just super irritating seeing it get all this support and then some to keep it powerful with meaningless banlist hits (too soft). It’s pretty much established itself as tier 1 for the unforeseeable future.
On that note, it makes it all that more fun to beat them when alllll those branded fusion alternatives get used up to no prevail. Truly feels like an accomplishment.
I blame the META for this card seeing a ton of play.
While it's a great card to smack the current META...unfortunately rogue decks get rekt by it as collateral.
Theres many horrible things people are allowed to legally do. Doesn’t mean its right to do it.
“Its just a game chill out”
And morality is subjective. I will always negatively judge people who rely on exploiting the shortcomings of a system to gain advantage over others.
Yeah! I now see her face, left arm and hair and even checked on MDM and still see them clearly compared to before when I couldn't recognise these features.
in tcg it went from floo/ exosister to 12 decks running this. Even those who get hurt by it run it cause it still better than nothing. To make my point , the best blackwing list is kaliyuga with d shifter cause you have red eyes link to bring back banished cards and dis pater. + snake eyes struggle with anything that say " unaffected" just disturb them little so they don't get 4 bodies/ ez when you have 7 interactions, and its a win. Alternate they burn themselves to death.... Just learn those alternate lines. while they have good grind game, unlike tear they skill seeling and thus Power of Endboards is just mid. Its not a infernity board with 5 omnis....
Exactly. Whenever Droll and Shifter spike up in usage combo deck players quickly point their fingers at them for the “unhealthy” gameplay and don’t give a 2nd thought WHY people are suddenly using these cards.
End of the day they are just giving a bias response and want as much hard answers to counter their meta format deck as possible banned
Symptom of the problem. The GY isn’t a GY anymore. It’s just a second deck space for a lot of archetypes. Don’t play a GY reliant and abusing archetype and you won’t have problems with shifter 🤷♂️
So funny how a lot can boil down to who lets who play. I heard somebody once say floodgates are just combo with less steps. We need a game in which both sides are actually allowed to play. and idk what that would look like tbh
honestly, i cant imagine konami fixing the problem of going second easily, maybe they would need to print some op going second cards, but going first is such a huge advantage when the game is as fast as it is
Negates can be baited and played around.
Floodgates require you to simply "have the out"
Negates require at least some game knowledge to be effective (assuming you have a limited number of them)
Idk man. Getting rid of Barron requires "having the out" too, except its usually far worse b/c ur potentially baiting by wasting two cards to get rid of one. One card to bait its eff and the other to remove it. That only leaves drawing the outs like a kaiju or ultimate slayer.
You are not reading what Im saying at all ffs.
Barrone is still at the end of the day controlled by another player. That negate is only as good as the person using it add to that that it is usable ONCE while Baronne is face up, after its been used Baronne is just a 3000 beatstick.
A floodgate requires no interaction, game knowledge or planning to use, its just flip and forget, skill drain remains active regardless until its destroyed.
It's all about resource advantage though. If we were to model card advantage as network flow with a graph for two different decks, you'd see that one not only does one like top meta have nodes (cards) with a high number of out degrees (tutoring out a gazillion cards from their deck), but they also also have very large edge weights (high impact cards like Baronne). On the other hand, a slower playing deck might need certain floodgates to even out the playing field because their graph isn't as dense due to lower out degree. They make up for it with higher edge weights in floodgates.
It doesn't matter if there's once per turn negate on barrone, if barrone negates whatever critical card it is that the opposing player needed to resolve in order to make a comeback. It doesn't make it any better if the going second player had to expend two cards just to get rid of Barronne, but there' still in Appolusa sitting there and they are now down to 4 cards in hand. Sure it looks more interactive, but it still achieves the same end goal of not letting the opponent play.
When I first started playing against VS decks, I was like wow wtf? their hand just keeps getting bigger and bigger and they keep negating everything and growing in resources. After that I decided to cut them off from their advantage directly at the source by throwing in 3 Thunder King Rai Oh 3 Deck Lockdown and 3 Droll. I started getting a lot of insta surrenders and then I quickly realized how effective it was to cut people off from generating resource advantage. It also ended up working wonders against heavy samurai and to my delight, also against snakeye.
Its annoying to me when somebody is doing better, simply because they're playing a better deck and not because they outsmarted me through some big brained play. I have no incentive to stop playing cards that cut people off from having ridiculously unfair card advantage and nothing pleases me more than meta decks insta surrendering to a floodgate, or resolving an evenly matched on a big board.
You are not “playing around” a multi negate monster board + hand and GY disruptions with most 6 card combinations in hand lol. It is still very “draw the out” because you still die if you didn’t break their board
That shit isn’t any more “interactive” gameplay than a flood board. One just takes more time then the other when your still scooping turn 2 regardless.
Certain lab builds using trap trick also use shifter. we can get our welcomes back with set up labyrinth which also places two more traps from deck, honestly I'm surprised it's not the more common strategy especially in this format.
Because Different dimension ground does the exact same thing without compromising your own plays. Playing shifter means no transaction rollback, which is basically where all of the resiliency of the deck comes from.
Lab doesn’t auto lose to Shifter even when it’s used against them because furniture can chain and send their crap to GY first. Which at that point the damage is done. Lab also has hands where they can just patiently wait on backrows
I've seen some Traptrix builds with this, with the reasoning that while Traptrix playing under shifter isn't ideal, decks like Snake-Eye lose to it much harder
you have to be able to ise this in deck or you're fucked in this format, see this format as tear 2.0, and coincidence the only good decks are the ones that where fighting tear too. Even in my sprights i have to run a turbo retarded build to fit this guy, means no fun side engines.
I mean I'm not saying it's not possible they do just that, but unless they want to CONSTANTLY hit the deck over 4 ban lists with multiple hits that don't actually stop the root problem, they'll wanna hit ash. I see them more likely putting ash to 1, and seeker to 2 JUST to sell product until the fall before outright banning ash.
Yeah, and I'm also sick of people playing on my turn and taking forever. Its like having two turns.. I'm looking at you Labyrnth.
I do this thing where I count how long it takes for them sitting there doing things on my turn and then I sit there for an equal amount of time doing absolutely nothing before finally making my plays.
Tough luck, because Snake-Eye will be the top deck for a long, long time. And even other decks in the future intended to fight off or be at the same level as Snake-Eye (like Fiendsmith) will still be vulnerable to this.
This is an anti meta card. It normally only rolls out when the top meta is super strong and graveyard dependant like the current one
Its even nastier though when it synergises with top decks like Floow and Kash
Honestly id like to see a little more of um, was pretty lame with limit 2 shifter during Tearlaments Meta.
Considering in T0 metas with high graveyard reliance he ends up being almost essential for rogue decks to even get a foot in the door.
This is my first time seeing the art up close since it's release, this entire time I thought he had a Karakuri-like outfit and face but I was completely wrong
Yeah so im anning on building adamancipators and i realized thst wile i use the grave a bit, i can easily run shifter cause while for me its an inconviniemce, for my oponent kts a turnskip.
We really gotta stop having metas where a graveyard-reliant deck is so absurdly strong. The ladder isn't even miserable solely because the deck itself is so insane, but because then the entire rest of the ladder ends up being shifter/grave floodgate turbo trying to deal with it.
Not that I even blame anybody though, it's not like snake-eyes can be consistently dealt with in ways that are healthy, if that were true it wouldnt be such an insane deck, but it's still terrible for everyone involved.
Don’t worry you will see him less again when a GY combo deck isn’t the format deck by either nerfing said deck or they make the next format deck not care about Shifter.
Hadn't played for 5 months, came back to my locals. Last guy was playing Kashtira and had this card glued to his hand, used it every first turn of the 3 games.
What gets me is that they can (for the most part) turn skip you with Shifter but you can't even droll them. It was a tie, we split prizing
Every time I see Shifter I realize something new about the art First it was “wait that’s a face, not a mask” Now it’s “what _is_ that pose”
It’s the pose one makes while shifting dimensions, obviously.
Thats so obvious ngl
At the very least the pose this guy in particular makes jeez
I dont know why but the face gives me a vibe i cant place, i dont know WHO it reminds me of but it reminds me of someone
Ichimaru Gin ![gif](giphy|qgj8eOOsNO4qA)
Reminds me of Iziya I think his name was from Durarara!!
Wait is that line his mouth? I thought it was his eyes X_X
Yeah their eyes are under the hood
It's Izaya Orihara
Yes I loved Him just blanked on his name
Yeah he's pretty goated
[Maybe one of those?](https://img3.hulu.com/user/v3/artwork/a01b543e-128a-495b-a589-ec8fca7dadd5?base_image_bucket_name=image_manager&base_image=12478393-f3d1-4942-a6e8-2bf8f6d6dafa&size=458x687&format=jpeg) or probably [this one](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/villains/images/8/8e/MedusaPortrait.JPG/revision/latest?cb=20170310164129)
I dunno it looks kinda like he has one of those chakra tatoos to me on his forehead but my brain could be making it up
It's a big smirk, a nose above the mouth, and the eyes are obscured by the hood.
I thought that we were looking up at shifter taking a step through a portal. their hand it stretched forward like a normal sorceress/sorcerer/sorcerey . Just the camera is under the ground so to say
Throughout heaven and earth, he is the honored one
Scoliosis
What, you don’t pose like that when you shift dimensions?
Now I realise it's a she
He's practicing for the next part of jojo
The pose is us looking up at her Be glad it’s a full body coat
Is he ... Walking on air??
Well I noticed only now the weird veins
I had never paid attention to either of those things. Wow
The more I look the worse it looks.
Signature smug smile of superiority
I dunno man, that looks like the smile of someone tripping balls.
Then why did you post a picture of him
[удалено]
Wait that's a chick? And not a goofy dark twink? Life in shambles 3rd time so far?

You failed anatomy class, that's his ribcage.
Never noticed that apparent shit eating grin he has going on there.
Gonna be seeing it a lot more until the Snake-Eye era comes to an end
I love that it not only turn skips your Snake Eye opponent, but it also turns off their Maxx C/Veilers/Drolls that they surely would’ve had for your turn.
I mean it counters Branded just as hard and many more arch types.
Oh no I agree, but it’s at an all time high now, or so it seems. That and cards like the link fire charmer since you can yoink whatever they have sitting in grave.
Nah, branded can play through it pretty well I've even seen some (cringe) branded players that use it because it hurts them less than snake-eyes Rindbrumm + followup pass really isn't that bad of a board under shifter
It counters the majority of archtypes. The card is stupid, especially in bo1 and in an environment where maxx-c exists.
And branded deserves all the hate in the world too
Honestly I don’t want to downplay Branded because at the end of the day, it really is a deck that takes some level of precision, it’s just super irritating seeing it get all this support and then some to keep it powerful with meaningless banlist hits (too soft). It’s pretty much established itself as tier 1 for the unforeseeable future. On that note, it makes it all that more fun to beat them when alllll those branded fusion alternatives get used up to no prevail. Truly feels like an accomplishment.
No it doesn’t. Branded even treats Banish as a resource pile too lol. What can SE do with a banish pile?
No it definitely does not, it can pull cards out of the banish pile sure but very limitedly. Branded needs a healthy GY to be effective.
Correction until decks stop using the graveyard and exclusively use the banish zone.
Kashtira pouting in the corner rn lol
Chain Shifter to your rant post, response?
Main phase 1: Activate Dimension Fissure Gonna double down on this mountain 😤😂
I blame the META for this card seeing a ton of play. While it's a great card to smack the current META...unfortunately rogue decks get rekt by it as collateral.
I hated this guy but hated the price tag of fire king snake eye in the tcg even more. So now I play this guy lol
That's 1 way to beat the system!
Ir you could take a break instead of terrorizing people who are just trying to play the game?
Hate the game, not the player
Theres many horrible things people are allowed to legally do. Doesn’t mean its right to do it. “Its just a game chill out” And morality is subjective. I will always negatively judge people who rely on exploiting the shortcomings of a system to gain advantage over others.
What the fuck
Not that deep lol
I have been transported to a alternate reality where shifter doesn’t wear a mask
Yeah! I now see her face, left arm and hair and even checked on MDM and still see them clearly compared to before when I couldn't recognise these features.
Wait, it's a SHE!?
Wait, it's a SHE!? Been calling it a dude all these while LMAO.
Me too, but mainly because it means I’m going against Floo
in tcg it went from floo/ exosister to 12 decks running this. Even those who get hurt by it run it cause it still better than nothing. At its current state floo dies to one ash or imperm, vanquish soul and Kash are miles better decks that can play it
Shifter seeing consistent use is the sign of an unhealthy meta. "id rather fuck us both over than let you play"
Exactly. Whenever Droll and Shifter spike up in usage combo deck players quickly point their fingers at them for the “unhealthy” gameplay and don’t give a 2nd thought WHY people are suddenly using these cards. End of the day they are just giving a bias response and want as much hard answers to counter their meta format deck as possible banned
except the decks that run this only fuck over the other guy
Sure but those decks tend to be much weaker than what the actual top tier decks are.

Sounds like a skill issue
Me a shaddoll player 🌜
I'm sorry.
what good decks even use this?
Vanquish Soul and Kash
Exosis too.
Floo too
Can I have a Floo Decklist? I want to play them, but can't find a decent decklist for me
Masterduel meta!
He said good decks
And they all replied with good decks
I guess no one has ever banished 4 of your cards, Plus put fear into your soul for thinking of moving anything from the graveyard.
“I activate ‘Maxx C’l “Called By, target Maxx” “Flip Vadis, flip Pax. Response, duelist?”
Thunder Dragon, although calling them 'good' is stretching it a bit.
Certain lab builds using trap trick also use shifter. we can get our welcomes back with set up labyrinth which also places two more traps from deck, honestly I'm surprised it's not the more common strategy especially in this format.

kashtira
Ghoti can play with shifter to a certain extent.
Until snake eye ash is banned, this will see a lot of play
Snake eyes ash? Banned? Y'all are delusional. They'll get 3 of their cards put to 2 & flamberge put to 1 at best
They need to bump it up to 3
Yup, they only hit whenTearlaments dropped, which is insane
When shifter or droll enter a format. That means its 9/10 times its a shitty ass format. That needs to end asap.
Yeah, and I'm also sick of people playing on my turn and taking forever. Its like having two turns.. I'm looking at you Labyrnth. It doesn't matter if it's used in anti-meta decks, that doesn't make it fun. Stun is anti-meta, that doesn't mean kaiser colosseum is a good card.
I agree. It's the horrible situation where if you want to play anything other than meta you have to sprinkle in these horrible cards
Machina needs to run 3 Overdrive just to deal with this thing(luckily we can benefit from any number of Overdrive)
Dropping a spirit bomb on combo decks
pls no more complaints my floos need shifter back at 3.
I'm not. Keep playing it guys.
Any auto win card should be banned.
He has a very punchable face.
Anti meta Gigachad card
Ikr? I love watching a meta regard insta surrender when I drop Shifter on them.
Shifter is based as fuck
Idk but for me sometime if you don't draw this card on the 1st turn then anytimes this card on your hand is totally a brick.
Just dont play meta
then just draw the called by the grave, duh.
Honestly id like to see a little more of um, was pretty lame with limit 2 shifter during Tearlaments Meta. Considering in T0 metas with high graveyard reliance he ends up being almost essential for rogue decks to even get a foot in the door.
That pose does look epic though.
Has anyone ever been floodgated in yugioh and come out having had a good time?
I myself haven't seen him since Kash release? Maybe he's just dead in hand idk
Meanwhile I haven’t seen this card used once in like 2 months lol, maybe I’m not in a high enough rank.
It's an anti meta card, if you're happy running a top tier deck, there's no reason to run this.
Never noticed the weird angle in his art before… like he’s about to step on you or something…
Called by needs to be at 4 because of cards like this
I think it’s a girl not a guy.
Yesterday I got Shifter'd on my turn 1 three times in a row and deranked I hate this card so much It's nearing roach levels tbh
This is my first time seeing the art up close since it's release, this entire time I thought he had a Karakuri-like outfit and face but I was completely wrong
Lore wise how strong would this guy be ? Any info or guesses?
If this dude is responsible for making all the dimensions SUCC people inside the D.D (different dimension) cards, pretty damn strong.
Yeah so im anning on building adamancipators and i realized thst wile i use the grave a bit, i can easily run shifter cause while for me its an inconviniemce, for my oponent kts a turnskip.
If you running a T1 deck deal with it...
Every time I get shiftered as ghoti my brain’s like “YAAY! wait…”
I'm pretty sure D Shifter is a gal, but yeah
Bro posted like he part of the ginyu force xD
Im sick of this guy in my hand as a brick which is 99% of the time
Its the "Woe Plage be upon ye" Eminem Meme Pose but instead of a Rat, Slim over here throws Dimensions Also he's floating Mid-Air
He is a savior in this current meta…
We really gotta stop having metas where a graveyard-reliant deck is so absurdly strong. Real shame you cant beat snake without this card
Don’t worry you will see him less again when a GY combo deck isn’t the format deck by either nerfing said deck or they make the next format deck not care about Shifter.
He's my best friend in the Duelist Cup :)
Hadn't played for 5 months, came back to my locals. Last guy was playing Kashtira and had this card glued to his hand, used it every first turn of the 3 games. What gets me is that they can (for the most part) turn skip you with Shifter but you can't even droll them. It was a tie, we split prizing
Where can i find high quality images of yugioh card art
I rarely ever see shifter anymore because most of the decks right now don't care
Wanna see him again?
That's a woman
Nah it's the dude from GX
It's a girl
And I'm sick of seeing Snake-Eyes.
Actually, I haven't seen this guy in a long time.
I literally never see him
Blame Konami for introducing Snake Eye. We have no choice!
He looks like a character from Dune
too fucking bad, labs and snake eyes are everywhere
Rather see shifter than poplar
Girl*
