Yeah, one bug in the eye or too much wind in the eyes and she'd have been trying to land blind. I know it's not expected that the canopy will pop, but I'd think you're still supposed to have some cool wrap around glasses on (for sun glare) or some goggles hanging around your neck in a pinch.
I half expected her to pull out some dope ass WWI aviator goggles, then realized those haven't been used since planes have had canopies. Kinda disappointed, ngl.
Oh, she handled it like a boss. I just thought it was funny that for half a second I thought that's what she was going to do. Was legit half disappointed when I realized it wasn't guna happen.
I KNEW she was gonna crash land in that field. With that speed of wind into bare eyes… assumed she couldn’t see. It’s even hard to breath in really fast wind (at least for me, i might be weird though).
But after all that, she landed it on the strip. That’s amazing. She kept her cool and with impairments and she still got the thing back in a landing strip. Absolutely amazing.
Bet she was wishing she had worn sunglasses. I miss mine when I forget them on goft cart rides. I can't imagine all that wind and having to keep your eyes open . Super amazing!
Why didnt she turned the plane against the wind?
Thats what i do when i pee, i never pee against the wind .. learned when i was a little kid.
Shame she didnt roll over so it would be easier to close it.
I’m thinking that it was a set thing, so if something like this happens, she would be able to control it. I think she did a great job, even if it was just a test

Without goggles opening your eyes at that speed will be very difficult.
The biggest problem is breathing at high speeds.
Hell I struggle on a bike and she's doing it on a plane. Kudos to her.
My only frame of reference for this is my bike and yeah, even at like 40mph I get teary eyed. Kudos to this lady for doing it at WAY higher speeds.
shes doing it through her teeth

Hell of a job staying calm and getting herself down safely. Expert at her crafts of flying and surviving
That's clearly a kit plane, can't believe she doesn't keep goggles in there for this situation
I don't know if putting on glasses is even feasible when the cockpit is already open
Especially one handed since you still have to fly the plane

They would probably have blown out trying to put them on. She handled it with composure at least.

Dem eyes look dry as fuck.
When she closes her eyes it has to feel like sand paper
I like the cut of your gib
Your days are numbered, Red Baron!
Pilot made the landing. Boeing made the canopy.
Did not have to scroll far!
She kept composure just like when I found out I have a grey pubic hair. Unlike my coworkers on zoom.
Hi Homelander
Jeffrey Toobin has entered the chat
☹️
God damn. Talk about grace under pressure. What an amazing pilot.
Finally a great reason to do a barrel roll and she lets it slip.
Spinning is one of the best tricks out there and she just let it slide
She stuck the landing better than Game of Thrones.
You had to bring that up? Now I’m mad all over again.
Everybody did.
I'm curious why that canopy opened mid flight – was it not secured fully, accidentally unlatched, defective, something else...

Designed by Boeing

Get this girl eye drops STAT
Nicely done. Now someone give her a toothbrush to get all of the bugs out of her teeth 😬
That’s reason number 2 for pilots to wear sunglasses. Number 1 being to look cool AF. ![gif](giphy|Vg9pbhMHttWR3Cyg7N)
They would have left or damaged her face tho.
Didn't know Boeing made planes this size
and that's why you don't order your ultralight off Temu
Fuck how alive did she feel on the landing! Fair play!

Damn, I forget he was in Twister. RIP
Not sure was she smiling on the whole process or merely just clenching her teeth. Cuz tbh she seems loving it. Great skill tho..
Give me some visine NOW
Damn!! Epic, Tom cruise ain't got no shit on her
I am assuming that it wasn't actually latched, so when she rolled the forces exerted on the canopy overcame the seal and so woosh, it pops open.

She handled that beautifully. No panic, just landed as quickly and safely as possible.

Forget the happy motorcyclist...

this is why you always wear seatbelts!
You must have had a serious case of dry eyes by the time you landed.
Perfect ad for eye drops.
I thought at first she was smiling.
GGs to her 💪🏻
She looked kinda happy
Eesh
Major case of dry eye? Try Clear Eyes!
Keep your cool. Well done.
Well done 👏
Do a barrel roll to close the canopy!
The true Superhero Experience
r/nextfuckinglevel
She handled that very well 👌
Was that made by Boeing?
SEGA!!
What plane is that?
Do you think she went back up after fixing the canopy or was she done for the day?
She could come totally blind.
Where's her aviators
Well, did Boeing make that window?
Good Job captain 🫡
see!\~!! must always wear a pilot helmet for pilots
powerful heart, if were me, can't imagine the consequence.
Those are some watery eyes
Wowwww
What a stud, that could very easily have ended in a catastrophic loss of life.
Bet those eyes stung by the end.
I love this woman. She’s AMAZING! Superman got nothing on her!
![gif](giphy|K5Jydr81T7DVwRyaIj|downsized) i just feel my dry eyes
Why was she so happy when the top came off?
She handled that like a boss.
Would rolling to the right help close it with inertia, and then she use her arm for the rest? Or would it be to hard to close after opening?
People who want to fly airplanes are kind of crazy.

My audio isn't working. What sound did it make? I'm imagining a *Boeing*.
Why didn’t she just do a barrel roll to flip it back on? Missed opportunity. Anakin would be disappointed
She was the real fighter jet herself all along.
well that's one way to clear out your eyes
Any pilots here? Would you have tried rolling the other way to see if it would close again?
Time for some clean underwear
She's like why am I here?
Lol her face just stuck in that shape
Wie cool sie geblieben ist Respekt 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
She went ww1 style
Clearly an expert aviator. Nerves of steel, adapted to the challenge.
if she had a helmet it would be easier
Why didnt she turned the plane against the wind? Thats what i do when i pee, i never pee against the wind .. learned when i was a little kid. Shame she didnt roll over so it would be easier to close it.

Because if it's bent or broken there's a real good chance she's getting hit.
She's a professional
