Haha he'll devour all the pests in your house. There was a stray cat who started living with us in our family home. My family wasn't used to cats, they only had dogs as pets. They treated her how they'd treat a dog and she loved it.
close friends and family members, okay👍
it's just affectionate bullying, and i'm short anyway.
but when guys (not close friends) or strangers do it it just really creeps me out and i immediately retaliate.
Ohhhh no ok I read you comment as “I shouldn’t I guess” as in you shouldn’t give him head pats due to the fear of retribution, so I said oh I think it would be fun to pay his head to see what happens (in a video game) because I wouldn’t actually do it I would just want to see the reaction
Hopefully that made sense it is 3 am
INTJ here i prefer to give out head pats but i also lowkey like getting them cause that’s how my dad always shows me lovins 😅 a good bonk can also get the message across better
it’s nice cause it shows the boundaries are comfy and secure. for me at least. i dont let my mom or my sis pat my head cause of unclear or uncomfy boundaries
If your gonna give me a headpat as a sign of praise or affection, get out of my face.
If your gonna give me a headpat for the sake of giving me a headpat,sure..(same type as yours)
ENFP
When I was really little my dad used to read me bed time stories and pat my head until I fell asleep. For me it's the most innocent gesture of love, that's why I give head pats to my boyfriend and friends and I also love receiving them.
ENTJ, if you pay my head I’d either yell at you for being condescending or be caught off guard and just stare angrily at you in a confused way. Hard to say exactly which, it’s 50/50 split with that kind of stuff.
How do you know if the person is being condescending or not? What if the person was just being affectionate because they couldn't resist your cuteness?
ENTP- I will never ask for them, and maybe give them. I will pretend I don’t like them and maybe get fake mad. But secretly I like them. It’s the attention, plus it shows someone likes you. I mean if someone I don’t like as much does it, I may feel uncomfortable.
i love giving and receiving head pats, its so comforting maybe its bcs my love language is physical touch but idk i feel like everyone should get head pats! – INTP
When I was a kid my parents liked to give me head pats when I did something well... I hated that. All I wanted was to be treated like one of them, like an independent and responsible person, not like a child. When I was 13, I won of the most important math competitions in my country, my uncle came up to me, congratulated me without any emotions, and shook my hand. That was the first time that I felt appreciated by someone from my family.
If somebody gave me head pats I would feel that this person is not taking me seriously, no matter how close we are. I generally prefer to express my feelings verbally and expect the same from others, otherwise I feel uncomfortable.
For me, I don't mind if I am being treated like a child. Tbh I like it. I had to grow up fast, faced some harsh realities at an early age and people around me expected me to behave like an adult even though I was just a child. Headpats take me back to the time when things were peaceful and happy.
Didn’t know this was a thing irl until a college friend did. At first I only thought of it as a commendation for a “job well done” later it gave me different feels for the opposite sex “friend” 🙈
Hey, there’s nothing wrong with that word I believe in it I think Ben, no sexy or anything about sex is something that people think about you know and there’s really nothing wrong with that because honestly Rahuman wrong people and we all have the same body parts but different feelings![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|heart_eyes)
intp, i really enjoy them but pretend i don't
Been there, done that. It was embarrassing to admit at first but now I don't mind appreciating the sweet gesture.
Too relatable holy frick
Yep, you've nailed my opinion too.
INTP here too but I just mostly gave them to people who are a bit smaller than me (in terms of their height)
Yes
Well... I've given them but didn't receive one.
If you want one, I'll give you two. *Pats on the head aggressively*
Aww, thanks!
:’( I would
I want physical affection. Any form is acceptable. I didn't get that when I was young.
There, there, let me give you one (o・_・)ノ”(ᴗ_ ᴗ。)
Aww, Thank you.
It was the same for me 😭 The most I got was an awkward hug from my mom in my 20s 😆 So now physical touch is my love language
Me too!!
*lands a clean palm strike to the top of the head* is this good?
If this is your way of showing affection then I accept it.
❤️❤️
ISTP and no. Head pats feel condescending.
That’s how I feel. I love having my face or hair touched but I think a head pat would piss me off.
Ah I never thought of it that way. It's good to know that some might feel that way, I'll keep that in mind.
I’m used to my hands being touched but not my head
Being used to something and liking something are two different things though
Fair but for me they often go hand in hand. Also can I PLEASE point out how hilarious our usernames put together are? xD
Yeah lol. Is she in the process of plotting a murder or the deed has been done?
I explained it all in my bio 😆 My cat’s a boy btw :) wbu tho how did your cat become a doggo :0
Haha he'll devour all the pests in your house. There was a stray cat who started living with us in our family home. My family wasn't used to cats, they only had dogs as pets. They treated her how they'd treat a dog and she loved it.
Touch me without permission and lose your arm
Even if the person is very close to you??
Yes even if.. sometimes I'll tolerate it, but everyone close to me knows that they shouldn't touch me unasked. I just don't like it.
My intp friend starts punching me when I touch him but what he doesn't know is that in the end I make him touch me back...
What if I don't have arms?
Guess you'll have difficulties touching me. I'd notice I bet

Never mind. I'm trying to be funny like a high Ne user but I keep failing.
same
They seem oddly reassuring.
What do you mean?
Human companionship I guess
Yeah I get it now ^_^
I might be an INFP, but I'm also a guy... Head pats seem kind of patronizing.
Is that so? Most of the guys I know don't seem to like it as well. I never considered it to be a gender thing though
Yeah it's real condescending, it's a good way to get yourself punched in the face.
close friends and family members, okay👍 it's just affectionate bullying, and i'm short anyway. but when guys (not close friends) or strangers do it it just really creeps me out and i immediately retaliate.
I associate them with affection and if a random guy or stranger does it, it's just weird.
haha you're much more tolerable than me
It's just that I love getting spoiled lol
You can touch my head as long as you're prepared to lose yours
You're scary lol. Why do you hate it so much?
Just feels off for me
ISTJ - Head pats by your partner are the most amazing thing. From anyone else, it’s odd.
[удалено]
I feel like I shouldn't guess. Some things are better left unsaid.
I feel like it would be fun (in a video game)
You wanna try guessing!?
Ohhhh no ok I read you comment as “I shouldn’t I guess” as in you shouldn’t give him head pats due to the fear of retribution, so I said oh I think it would be fun to pay his head to see what happens (in a video game) because I wouldn’t actually do it I would just want to see the reaction Hopefully that made sense it is 3 am
Depends on who is it, if ur a random from my class you’ll loose a hand, but if it’s a closer friend or something I love it
Infj, I admittedly really like them but… don’t … tell… anyone… lol
Okay I'll keep it a secret 🤝
INTJ here i prefer to give out head pats but i also lowkey like getting them cause that’s how my dad always shows me lovins 😅 a good bonk can also get the message across better
That's how we show love in my family too
it’s nice cause it shows the boundaries are comfy and secure. for me at least. i dont let my mom or my sis pat my head cause of unclear or uncomfy boundaries
I like giving headpats but i've never recieved one:') think I might like em
Are you asking for one? (o・_・)ノ”(ᴗ_ ᴗ。)
ahh im just seeing this rn thank you kind friend ily:') \*gives a headpat back\*
<33
Isfp, I can't live without them
If your gonna give me a headpat as a sign of praise or affection, get out of my face. If your gonna give me a headpat for the sake of giving me a headpat,sure..(same type as yours)
INFP here. Yes but only if you're my SO and you're trying to put me to sleep. Otherwise, back off/I'm trying to focus on something.
Infp, I like/love them because they make me feel adored :3
YES!! That's exactly how I feel
INTP. I prefer giving but definitely don’t mind receiving. Edit: Damn, walked right into that one didn’t I.
(o・_・)ノ”(ᴗ_ ᴗ。)
Don't be shy. You love it, don't you?
Oh I definitely like getting headpats. I just like giving even more.
I like giving them! But only to my so. She always teases me when I do it but I know she likes it
That's so sweet.. Let me just *downvotes in single*
Third answer
As a petite small girl, I usually get head pats. I dont even like people touching me, so yeah nope.
I don't like being touched in general, but touching other people is nice
Infp I dont like being touched at all but i like giving head pats and other physical affection as well
ENFP here i just like it makes me feel valued and warm.

From my girl.. sure whatevs (I'll admit nothing). Everyone else: I'm friend shaped, not friend-ly.
INFP and Yes! Someone pet me!!!
Here, have one (o・_・)ノ”(ᴗ_ ᴗ。)
Depends but generally yes Intj
Good to know. I never thought there would be this many people who didn't like it though.
I generally like any type of massage and i count head scratches as massage
Yeah they're so relaxing. Really helpful when I am struggling to sleep.
ENFP When I was really little my dad used to read me bed time stories and pat my head until I fell asleep. For me it's the most innocent gesture of love, that's why I give head pats to my boyfriend and friends and I also love receiving them.
Yes my mom used to do the same when I was little. She still gives me pats sometimes and it makes me feel like a child again.
Yes,, it's such a pure and reassuring gesture!
No one can touch my head. Intj
*touches your head*

only the chosen ones can give me head pats edit: INTP
Understandable
ENTJ, if you pay my head I’d either yell at you for being condescending or be caught off guard and just stare angrily at you in a confused way. Hard to say exactly which, it’s 50/50 split with that kind of stuff.
How do you know if the person is being condescending or not? What if the person was just being affectionate because they couldn't resist your cuteness?
I’m an infp and I kind of rarely get headpats lol
Lemme just (o・_・)ノ”(ᴗ_ ᴗ。)
No. Personal space
I love them from certain people, but I've told I give godlike head massages Intp
I like giving them to people I'm extremely close to. I'm an ENTP 5w4, and I hate people touching me, so I will give, but very rarely receive.

It must be nice having a younger sibling

I don't mind paying a small price if I get to hold a baby.
People touching my head in generally usually feels therapeutic (esp when I have a migraine!!! ENFP 7w6 ❤️
Nezuko?
I love them an unhealthy amount✨✨
ENxP and I both want head pats, and to give head pats 😻
ENTP- I will never ask for them, and maybe give them. I will pretend I don’t like them and maybe get fake mad. But secretly I like them. It’s the attention, plus it shows someone likes you. I mean if someone I don’t like as much does it, I may feel uncomfortable.
Pets > pats
INTP, yez i need affection. Also because hugging and head pats are my love language but i have no friends so i cant do it to them
I have a stuffed turtle for that purposes. It can handle all my affection + it's soft
Well I am a dog so it makes me feel like a good boy 🦍
likes giving refuse accepting bECOS idk
ENFP and i like both giving and receiving. quick and easy way i can show affection, great for people who don’t like touch as much, what’s not to like?
I love getting head pats. They make me feel like I’ve been good. (Infp)
Let me give you one (o・_・)ノ”(ᴗ_ ᴗ。)
Thank you <333
intp, i enjoy a lot them as long as i'm comfortable enough with the person, but i don't admit it verbally
ENTP. I don't really care about getting them or giving them, but I sometimes give them.
my intp friend always gives me head pats
INTJ- I hate physical contact
Istp : what the hell nah bro
i don’t mind them, hugs and headpats are cute 🛐🛐
i love giving and receiving head pats, its so comforting maybe its bcs my love language is physical touch but idk i feel like everyone should get head pats! – INTP
Apparently many people hate it, so you'll probably end up losing your arm if you tried to pat them
i pat with caution >.< – yall stay safe hahahaha
I give them but don’t receive them. Only on the rarest occasions…
Nope
i like them from people i care about
The best is giving them however reciving them form some people is also good. ~ Intp
it’s disrespectful
How?

i like giving them but not receiving them because im scared whoevers patting my head will think my hair is greasy
you just unlocked my new fear
you're welcome
INTP, I hate them because it ruins my hair curls. Also I don't really enjoy the feeling.
I LOVE THEM A LOT I just love physical affection omg come and pat my head and I will start saying thank you, thank you, over and over for real (INTP)
Head pats from friends/partner > head pats from relatives I give head pats too

I like head pats im a cat
Nobody has ever patted me so no
You might like it if you experience it. You never know
No, its demeaning lol
Fuck no. I’m not a dog.
Are you sure?
Definitely. I find it to be belittling
Play with my hair run your hands through it lightly tug on the roots rough up my hair…”Sensual moan.”
This took an unexpected turn
I like head pats head pats are good.
what am I a fucking dog
I don’t think head pats are I my common arsenal of affection giving lol I feel like a gentle head rub might be better lol
A gentle bonk + head rub isn't that what a headpat is
I mean maybe
Entp...I think people look funny when you pat their head. I don't think they know how to react.
Only if they aren't used to it
[удалено]
You never know unless you experience it first hand. You might end up loving it.
I don't know. Used to like receiving them as a kid, but I'm not so sure about now.
If you liked them as a kid, there's a high probability that you'll end up enjoying them even as an adult
Yeah, maybe. :-)
entp. they make me feel less superior
