Hi, All! Just wanted to beetlejuice our way in here and say that we're grateful to see our private label pencils being compared favorably to some great brands, and also nice to be recognized for offering a great value! Thanks!
Nice catch! The lead degree window on the button looks a lot like those previously found on Platinum Pro-Use series designs. Probably made for Blick by the same OEM, Kotobuki.
Based upon my research people seem to think it's a sakura mechanism, and based upon their selection of sakura brand it seems to be supported. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's a platinum mechanism.
I am surprised at the quality of finish all around for how inexpensive it is in regard to some selections these days. I almost got the 2mm as well, but decided only one today 😆

Sakura has mechanical pencils made by Kotobuki too i.e. the Sumo Grip model. As do Staedtler, Faber Castell and many more big and smaller brands.
Thanks for the info. Makes sense why faber castell, staedtler and sakura all feel so satisfying.
I have one of these, as well as a 2mm and I love them!
