Yeah, that's more of an issue for one man black metal projects where you are certain that the guy will eventually be found hanged in his mother's basement.
Podcasters thought “hmm.. what am I best at?” Sitting around and talking about nothing because they like to hear themselves talk and think everyone else should enjoy it. The age of narcissism is in full swing.
Not all podcasts are some product of narcissism or clout chasing. Tons of very valuable podcasts out there, featuring extremely humble and intelligent people, and specialists in their field. Hell, even those true crime story podcasts are awesome. Dungeons & dragons campaign podcasts? Recent event podcasts? Educational/teaching podcasts? Self help podcasts?
Plenty of great valuable podcasts out there. To label all podcasters as narcissists is just wild. But I do agree a lot of the “popular,” or “mainstream,” ones are. But that doesn’t mean they all are.
A podcast is an audio file that's uploaded on demand, as opposed to put on radio. If you think that's all a podcast can be I'd be happy to inform you they can be as varied as TV shows. There are highly produced radio dramas, documentaries, infotainment shows, panel shows. Some of my favourite podcasts are just one person telling a story, one is just presenting and playing great obscure cover songs. If "three dudes talking" is the only genre you've seen I'm so sorry.
Do you have any dungeons and dragon campaign products to recommend ?
Never played the game myself….
But loved the “Community” episodes and stories about certain campaigns in other media.
Just not well versed at all
"Lazy effortlessness" is my way to describe some podcasts. It's like a never-ending talent show where most participants forgot to rehearse. But hey, if you dig deep enough in the muck, you might find a gem or two. Just remember, it's mostly muck. Stick to the ones you enjoy, and you’ll avoid the earfuls of mediocrity.
I started with Distractible since Wade is too handsome to resist.
Then was like hey, podcasts ain’t so bad. I try another podcast and now i only ever listen to wades sexy voice.
Im actually starting to enjoy listening to a podcast i found on youtube, it starts with a dude with a low quality microphone rambling about "so like this one time mate.."
Tie between Behind the Bastards and Mom Can't Cook: A D-COM Podcast.
First is an in depth look at the worst people in all of history and occasionally making fun of Ben Shapiro's god-awful writing, the second is two grown men absolutely *roasting* old Disney Channel original movies
Sometimes I imagine myself on a podcast... I imagine myself saying something really smart and all the people are like "oh yeah, this guy is really smart"
yeah ive also been to few late night talks shows, interviewed on news channel, given speech at award shows, done concerts, busking, given lecture at college. -in my pure imagination
It is more like how you get people to listen to it. Podcasts are mostly made of ppl who are already popular / have atleast a few lost souls who know the ppl but most musicians are unknown to the world and only a very small ammount of them ever gets heard even if the music is good. If you are a already popular person and make halfway decent music it will do as good as any podcast would.
Oh God have so many. I like listening to Canadians talk about stuff because even when they hate it they’re super super nice so I find that chill two of my faves in that genre are Talk From Superheroes and I Hate It But I Love It.
And I will say because I role-play by other favorite is System Mastery actually that whole family, including Movie Mastery and Expounded Universe.
🙏❤️
Don't forget the ones where comedians that have never told a joke that anyone has ever laughed at tells everyone the rules of comedy and how to be good at it.
Imo and Skizz is at the top, followed by Lateral, and I’m gonna include CarTalk because it’s on the Apple Podcast app, followed by some occasional Escape this Podcast. I like A World Without too but they haven’t uploaded in a while
Hey y’all I am searching for a meme I can’t find it anywhere can some please help? It’s an old gag meme where a guy is actually expressing his thoughts that he is missing you while showering , eating , watching tv etc can anybody help please ? It’s very important for me
Thing is podcasters can be your 1 sided friends with relatable conversations. Music is more of a an amazing experience that makes you feel life in bursts.
There was this dnd podcast I loved listening to
I took a break from it because I was just more into music for a bit, and couldn’t find it when I looked a couple weeks later, haven’t been able to since
Meanwhile in Italy:
"Ceh l'altro giorno stavo ar supermercato e a commessa non se muoveva"
"Greve zi"
"RANA!"
"Certi soggetti sono proprio ingobbbliniti"
"Greve zi"
"RANA!"
O almeno fino a qualche giorno fa
..Who listens to podcasts?
Well.. clearly a lot of people I guess...
But.. why? Isn't it just.. random people talking.. about random stuff?
Do people sit and enjoy that talking the same way others enjoy music..??
So I can say it’s nice to feel like you have friends if you are for instance, in the military and have to move a lot so you’re away from everyone. It feels like human interaction with friends without really having to contribute while listening. Also some of them are just interesting to listen to
That's not at all what I meant for you to get from that. 😅
What I am saying is that I cannot relate to the feelings of craving socialization to the point that you listen to random stranger's conversations. That seems very odd to me, so I assume it is because I am not an extrovert. But if you claim to be an introvert, it then seems like it's just something about you specifically?
There are definitely those sorts of podcasts but for the most part it's more specific to a listener's interests or hobbies. For instance you might like a certain Comedian and their content so you find and listen to their Podcast/s - a lot of modern stage material can be and is pulled from these mediums.
Others are more educational or very topic specific, like Hardcore History by Dan Carlin among others.
From celebrities to gamers to engineers to soldiers to crocheters to everything and anything in between, there's probably a podcast for it/for you lol
Maybe if there's podcasts explaining biology stuff about certain organisms, then maybe. 😄
But I'd probably always go for videos or articles with visuals. (Idk if podcasts are audio only?)
I'd recommend Stuff to Blow Your Mind podcast if you want to try some science and history related podcasts. They discuss random but usually interesting topics and mostly for only a couple of hours' worth (1-3 episodes), so it's easy to keep up with. It's also credible since they include their references from the source material (articles, books, etc).
cannibal corpse wouldn't care
Of course they don't because they are quite massive
Yeah, that's more of an issue for one man black metal projects where you are certain that the guy will eventually be found hanged in his mother's basement.
But you don't think they got massive then decided to stop caring about if people like their music?
I didn't knew cannibal corpse had a podcast
Really want to start a podcast cause i love yapping and i dont wanna have a real job.
Let's start one
I do one and it doesn't replace my job but it gives me an opportunity to just talk shit with my old friend for an hour a week.
That honestly sounds fun
2 strangers podcast
lets partner up
I’ll be the “I hate that, bruh” bro
me too
I'll be the heavy-reactions giver: "FU**IN NO WAYYYY!! NO. WAYY BRO!! You asked the cashier for a CHANGEEE!!!!
Oh shit
bro used the "real job" argument
Aw bro same

It's like saying there's only talk shows on tv. Vapid daytime TV sucks, that doesn't mean there aren't quality shows out there.
But that’s exactly what a podcast is. People just talking about whatever. Like a talk show….

Very well said, you took the words right outta my brain.
Do you have any dungeons and dragon campaign products to recommend ? Never played the game myself…. But loved the “Community” episodes and stories about certain campaigns in other media. Just not well versed at all
If it works, it works ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The age of narcissism has been going on since the early 1900s
Not necessary to hate on something just because you don’t enjoy it. Plenty of people do
i enjoy it
say that to the Beatles
I'm pretty sure they literally traveled to India to learn microtonality to improve their songs.
Amazing that they still sucked after all that effort
I hate this podcast trend 99% of them are shit
For real. I stick to the four I know, since I don't want to search for another good one.

Distractible gang!!
Have you ever heard of the ship of Theseus?
And I turned around...
I started with Distractible since Wade is too handsome to resist. Then was like hey, podcasts ain’t so bad. I try another podcast and now i only ever listen to wades sexy voice.

Your music will be ass for a long time before it becomes listenable and enjoyable. In a year you'll look back and already see some progress.

BtB is my favorite, by far. Robert Evans' voice (and atonal shrieking) is my ASMR.
I’m a huge fan of Creepcast. Wendigoon and Meatcanyon just have such good chemistry and I love the stories they cover on there
Music involves a dude sharing feels. Podcasts emulates being around friends :0
i always heard either penguinz0 or oneyplays or any DnD sessions if i wanted to sleep.
CreepCast definitely. Papa Meat and Wendigoon have such great chemistry and are so funny
My favourite podcast just closed
RIP
Spout lore - a dungeon world podcast, imo it’s the best role playing game podcast out there

The one with the ice cream on the conveyor belt
None, since i dont listen to potcasts.

best piece of radio yapping is Conan Obrien needs a friend. Got me through pandemic bullshit and continues to entertain today.
lateral, small town murder, and song vs song.
Braving the Elements (literally the only podcast i listen to)
Old ass meme.
MSSP, Hardcore History, and Martyrmade

THE BOMB SQUAD PODCAST

The dollop
Please Stop Talking, you can't convince me that Mandalore Gaming isn't haunted by at least 1 witch.
Weekly Planet is quite excellent
You guys listening to podcasts?
I woke up and I figured I had a wet dream, Isn't that concerning?
The magnus archives or dungeons and daddies(not a bdsm podcast)
Why do a lot of people seem to think making a decent podcast is easy?
It is more like how you get people to listen to it. Podcasts are mostly made of ppl who are already popular / have atleast a few lost souls who know the ppl but most musicians are unknown to the world and only a very small ammount of them ever gets heard even if the music is good. The Unsubscribe podcast, it's such a great mix of motivation, humor and education.
Hahahahahhahaa
dont listen to podcast
Is it self-deprecating to cite someone else's podcast instead of my own? (Also, i can absolutely, positively confirm that i have the same issue)
Unsubscribe
I‘d swap both doggos
fr podcasts are donkey dick
Brilliant idiots is slot of fun
Love some retro gaming. Retrovaniacs is my go to podcast.
Oh God have so many. Triforce
Gotta have the exact opposite feeling of this meme. Every podcast sounds the exact same and the politics are insufferable.
Baited podcast. Unfortunately, it ended.
Does Cold Ones count?
Does no one else remember sound cloud? Lol
Distractable on top
The one and only Distractable!
Saftey Third
One’s filling three minutes every 2 months. One is filling 10 hours a week. Shocker in the content difference.
Eye of the tiger
Literally whatever is on the radio,I swear it's either the most boring shit possible or the funniest situation you've ever heard of
"that's crazyyy...Jamie pull up a picture of ice cream for me real quick."
This is a beautiful meme
Don't forget the ones where comedians that have never told a joke that anyone has ever laughed at tells everyone the rules of comedy and how to be good at it.
so true
Imo and Skizz is at the top, followed by Lateral, and I’m gonna include CarTalk because it’s on the Apple Podcast app, followed by some occasional Escape this Podcast. I like A World Without too but they haven’t uploaded in a while

I only listen to one podcaster. Mr Ballen. "Medical Mysteries" and the main one
Thing is podcasters can be your 1 sided friends with relatable conversations. Music is more of a an amazing experience that makes you feel life in bursts.
It's impossible, I'm a millionaire and I don't know what to do with the money.
There was this dnd podcast I loved listening to I took a break from it because I was just more into music for a bit, and couldn’t find it when I looked a couple weeks later, haven’t been able to since

Talented people know how much they dont know yet and tend to feel inadequate because of it. Its why so many talented people hesitate so much.
Discord Murder Party. Good story, great writing, phenomenal characters.
Trash Taste
Myths and legends is my favorite podcast!
Speaking of podcasts by people nobody wants to listen to, yall should check out forehead fables on Soptify and Youtube
Creepcast and distractible

Oh.. As an introvert, I do not understand these feelings... 😅
I am also an introvert but it sounds like you have social anxiety because introverts can be social
Yes, and so can I? 😅 I don't know where you're pulling this stuff from..?
Saying an introvert can’t understand having friends or socializing with them would imply that introverts can’t be sociable
That's not at all what I meant for you to get from that. 😅 What I am saying is that I cannot relate to the feelings of craving socialization to the point that you listen to random stranger's conversations. I don’t listen to podcasts , I have more important things in life than listening to some stars or anyones opinion on things most have no real clue of
