Up 2 would have to be about Russel coming to terms with Carl's death. Ed Asner passed away. I could see the opening 15 minutes. Russell grows up and goes on adventures with Carl and Dug. As they progress, Carl gets slower and slower, eventually it's just Dug visiting Carl. Then a funeral, Russell is broken and just goes to college and then gets lost in drudgery trying to figure out how to grow up. Dug gets fat an lazy from the lack of walks (but is some sort of genetic long lived dog, because you can't kill Carl AND Dug!) Then something happens and Russell learns he has to go on his own adventures, if for no other reason than to inspire himself and others to love life.

In that case, cut their budget
