Easily my favorite. By episode 50, you're like "Eh, this is a good anime. Probably like an 8." And then it just keeps getting better and better and better. I'm nearing the end an I'm sad. It's going to be so hard to top it.

It is difficult. Gintama offers so much that it's nearly impossible for it to be replaced by any other anime. Does anyone have any suggestions for something like Gintama?

I think gintama is unique. There's not a lot of space in the market for an anime like it, especially one that ran as long as gintama.

Not the same , but Saiki-K is pretty close in terms of comedy. They even have a small crossover in the beginning of S2.

I started Saiki-K but couldn't go beyond a single episode. I will try again.

It might be the speed of the anime. I would recommend slowing it down, or reading the manga. Because it truly is a good comedy, but the speed makes it hard to get into.

Gintama is a special category for me. Its always going to be special.

I'm at episode ~210,current arc hit me in the feels,and I worry that I will not be able to watch any other long/long-ish anime(was at episode 256 of Naruto before starting Gintama) without getting bored to death(it barely tolerable before)

What makes it better is how it's consistently comedic after first 50-60 for 300+ episodes, the kyubei arc with the toilet mind battle is still one of my favourite episodes of all time.

I started watching it last week. I'm in chapter 50 but I can't figure out about the seasons or anything. I'm just enjoying it.
