all **4749 pounds** of it. Mercedes quoted the last sedan at 3929 lbs. Owners with the 4.0 cars - you only need to add 61 horsepower to your 4.0 V8 to match the power to weight ratio of the new car.

PhantomZmoove

Are they really that much? Wow! I guess I lost the crown of being the heaviest at 4,274 then.

Ieatass187

And you get an overworked rice sounding POS

torrisi13

In addition to that, you only get that peak HP number in certain scenarios in the new car. At times it could be as little as the max output of the engine minus the electric motors.

Jimmydean123456789

šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

Cock_out-socks_on

They handle like a fucking dog. The chassis just falls apart in turns. The interior is a joke compared to the last one. What the actual fuck were Mercedes thinking? This is some shit genesis or some shit would do, not Mercedes. The car company with the most heritage and pedigree that pride themselves on their quality and design. This new shit is lazy and insulting.

narwhal_breeder

lol genesis gets better every generation, Mercedes doesnā€™tĀ

Cock_out-socks_on

Iā€™m talking about the design language. Sure genesis gets shinier/better looking each gen. And sure. If you look at the reliability reviews they pay for, they look good. They are notoriously bad in the real world however, particularly mechanically and electrically. This is what Iā€™m getting at, Mercedes has just decided theyā€™re going to go after the masses who canā€™t tell the difference and just will pay for the badge.

Money-Opportunity-30

If only it had better sounding engine šŸ˜”

heisenberg__7777

Thatā€™s true! Miss the V8 šŸ„²

haroldhecuba88

If only it had a real engine;)

IEnjoyItalianCars

Might just be me but it sounds relatively decent for a four banger but itā€™s extremely disappointing with the c63 name

AMGLover2024

šŸ¤

Cock_out-socks_on

No. The interior is still an insult. It handles like shit because of its weight.

ProfChof_

At this point why not save yourself some money and get a cla45s?

AkakiPeikrishvili

CLA even looks better.

BassWingerC-137

Because itā€™s a fucking front wheel drive platform. Iā€™d take a 3 cylinder C over it.

Far_Cheek3637

Take a 4matic then?

Balenciallahh

Itā€™s still front wheel drive based

BassWingerC-137

Itā€™s still a FWD platform. The engine is 90Ā° installed wrong for a Mercedes-Benz, and the transmission is sittinā€™ up next to it. If I wanted a car built like that, Iā€™d get an Acura.

Cock_out-socks_on

I have a CLA35. It actually is not bad at all. However, itā€™s not typically what one expects from a Benz. Would not recommend or buy again.

BassWingerC-137

Thanks for that. I donā€™t think they are terrible cars by any means. Although my experience with them is limited, but for what I do know, they represent all of the reasons I buy Mercedes-Benz cars. In the sense they are what I avoid. There are many choices in front wheel drive (read: transverseā€¦ yeah yeah, AWDā€¦.) cars, but no so many in a traditional longitudinal rear-wheel drive (yeah, yeah, AWD) chassis offerings. Folks argue night and day about what a ā€œrealā€ AMG is. Thatā€™s silliness as AMG, in the ā€œrealā€ sense is an aftermarket tuner. Bolt on stuff. Therefore, someone putting AMG wheels on a C300 may be more ā€œreal AMGā€ than a mass marketed, dealer bought. C63 from certain perspectives. So, that aside, I donā€™t consider CLA, A, GLA, GLB vehicles to really be proper Mercedes-Benz products. They are branded as such but they carry none of the DNA, none of the pedigree. They are not what I want in a Mercedes-Benz.

Cock_out-socks_on

Yeah exactly. It is more Benz than not, still has the interior amenities you expect and love. Real AMG used to be a simple distinction if you have been with the brand long enough. Hand built one man one engine, thatā€™s it. They expanded the line in the 2010s to compete with the m lites BMW had success with. Regardless of everything, it is infinitely more enjoyable than even an A4 which is a class above it. I showed my friend who drives an M3 Competition and we was seriously surprised at the performance. Considering how people talk about it, I can see why.

BassWingerC-137

Iā€™d enjoy taking a CLA on a track to really push one and see how real world my bias is. Not sure how I could arrange that as I donā€™t have one, and Iā€™ve prevented friends from buying them LOL. But it would be fun to do. Iā€™ve tracked most all of my MBs at one point or another, with exception to the new GLE. An ML I had I did take on a pretty vigorous off road weekend. That was a hoot.

Cock_out-socks_on

Iā€™d still probably take an m240i over it, but itā€™s basically right there with it.

Cock_out-socks_on

All of this being said. I must add. I would never ever buy the non amg version of this car and I agree the GLB GLA and B class should not exist, as we should not have the A class in America. The A class makes sense in Europe. I think CLA 35 and 45 in the current chassis could have been an AMG only product like the 4 door it resembles so closely.

WinstontheCuttlefish

Are you one of those who believe whenever a manufacturer advertises AWD itā€™s actually AWD?

throwertower

Serious question, what exactly makes a rear wheel drive that much better than a front wheel drive?

BassWingerC-137

Chassis balance, smoother drive, a bias towards oversteer vs inferior understeerā€¦ things which have been improved a lot over the decades, but all the same fall short of why a ā€œtraditionalā€ longitudinal engine with transmission behind it, are the layouts for the nicest of cars. FWD is far lest expensive to build for the manufacturer. At best, the benefit for the consumer is ā€œsnowā€ performance, thatā€™s what they sell anyhow.

ProfChof_

Have you looked into the cla 45? It can put 50% of power to the back. It is a front wheel drive bias, but it is a true awd 4 matic. And it can put 100% of that 50% to each wheel

BassWingerC-137

I am quite familiar with it. That bias makes it a no go for what I like about Mercedes-Benz.

_Robbinbanks

Ah yes the 2000th post asking about the new C63

eeasyontheextras

The 4 times weekly lol

CayenneHybridSE

Pretty sure this is a karma farm bot, Iā€™ve seen dozens of these posts and most of them attempt to gain karma and then they archive the posts after it dies down and repeat the process

Storm_treize

Could you farm karma, if your post get massively down voted, genuine question?

CayenneHybridSE

Iā€™m not an expert but Iā€™d assume not, typically these posts arenā€™t controversial though so they usually do pretty well

strangway

ā€œHereā€™s a controversial topic weā€™ve all seen before, letā€™s argue about it in a new post because I want karma.ā€ (which doesnā€™t even matter anymore)

LightsOut5774

The performance and F1 tech is cool, but thatā€™s pretty much it. You know you fucked up when youā€™ve created a very potent car but people arenā€™t buying it

Storm_treize

F1 tech? Is it really, or some marketing scheme?

HuckleberryFar1492

E Performance i guess, F1 hybrid technology, it is in GT E Performance but Iā€™m not sure they used it in C class

Cock_out-socks_on

But itā€™s not actual performance. Itā€™s not. Straight line speed isnā€™t performance. Its lap times are only quick because of it. I guarantee you it loses time on corner entry and average corner speed to the old car. Which means, on the road, it will handle like a dog in comparison. Iā€™m so sick of straight line speed being considered as an objective bonus no matter what. Itā€™s just not. Otherwise we would all be driving electric trash by now.

Ieatass187

I hope this is an MB employee posting this. And I sincerely hope HR downvotes. Your early cars were darling. Amazing. Beautiful and reliable. They are presently lumps of ā€œtechā€ that doesnā€™t function, along with the afterthought of a car attached. Please do better.

dannydrew24

Seriously though. I thought this was a joke. Looks like a Toyota Camry from the backā€¦ All that money for what? Looks like they just pieced it together.. Anything Mercedes after 2017-2018 is a joke. Built like crap but charge that premium price tag

Cock_out-socks_on

Well. ā€˜Early carsā€™ā€¦ they invented the car. I think up until 2021 the cars were fantastic. The previous generation is incredibly reliable.

Storm_treize

V8 didn't make sense, this is why we loved it, this one should have been a "V6 Turbo Hybride", you know, like an F1 car, and people would have accepted it more

nixblu

Where are the other cylinders

okyptos

Exterior, Interior, overall design 10/10 Sound, power to weight ratio, engine -1000/10

Cock_out-socks_on

Bro. The interior design is by far the most insulting part of the entire car. It isnā€™t luxury. Itā€™s Tesla millennial tech slave pandering trash. I have no idea how this new horseshit design language got approved at a company like Mercedes. Exterior is nice, which is the saddest part. Rear quarter proportions are objectively strange however. Rear haunch is also a bit ā€˜friendlyā€™

FranktheTankG30

Not much to think about. It still isnā€™t on sale in the US and it is already half way through 2024 model year.

dangerousperson123

Damn at first I thought this was one of those trd Camrys ! I guess Iā€™ll be scheduling an eye test soon.

Surfacing555666

Are they ever gonna start selling it?

sln1337

no

Storm_treize

It's not selling (well) in Europe, and American don't lineup to buy 4cyl $100k sport cars

chathobark_

Ew

alimirza_fks

I want to buy it in an instant once it is available in my country!

[deleted]

It seems boring without that iconic V8, competitors offer more exciting products. Plus it's heavy as shit. Sales numbers talk and bullshit walks. Mercedes took the L with this one.

username555666777

Aesthetically itā€™s probably my favourite C63, too bad a about the engine, kind of removes the cool factor a lot.

Slu54

It's a shitter

Petarthefish

Is that a 4 banger?

Yachts-Dan92

Meh

Successful_Gear5855

- 670Hp (only with battery charged) - Optional carbon ceramics (Front only) - Extended front fender (Rear arches are same as w206 c180) - Efficient engine (10-12L/100Km or 23-19mpg) - Starts at 120k šŸ¤” This is the best thing that could have ever happened to BMW.

dannydrew24

Thatā€™s why I go back and forth between brands. Mercedes built tanks up until the mid 2010ā€™s. BMW had reliability issues in that era.. Got me a 2013 S550 & my next car is going to be a 340i. Maybe M but if not then oh wellā€¦ the new Mercedes seem cheaply built

HuckleberryFar1492

Put real engine in there (V8) and itā€™s perfect car

lord_luxx

No opinions until theyā€™re available in the U.S. Canā€™t even build one on the configurator

Chiken_nuget_584

Thought it was a Camry for half a second

Joblessmouse06

Worse than a brand new Toyota Corolla

Mysterious-Tip7875

I would love this interior with the previous V8

Redskins4evaB

Sounds like the bubble car SpongeBob drives

persixn_

Alfa Romeo Giulia*

QuitOne2240

Shouldā€™ve used a 6 cylinder since theyā€™re using their F1 branding like crazy with this car. But yea Iā€™ll take the M3 or RS5 over this any damn day

wierdomc

The dopeness has no boundsā€¦ā€¦ā€¦.

AtmosphereGlad7359

Trash car g8X better

keithspexma

don't like it personally

VasakP6ige

great and absolute weapon on and off the track. but id never buy it cuz it doesnt have v8 in it which AMG is known for the most. i6 biturbo with 4ws and 4wd wouldve been MUCH better decision but hey, merc does what they want not what customers want.

No-Librarian1533

If you really like the body work and so on. Go for the 43. Otherwise, hell nah. It is very amazing from the technical side (I would recommend watching JP-Perfomance [german automotive YTber] recently uploaded video about it. Maybe it has English subtitles... There, he is discussing the car with the head of engineering of this car, I guess)

carsare-vrynice

Honestly, itā€™s a great car but it feels so artificial because of its weird engine layout and terrible engine sounds that are played through the speakers. I would have one but would rather have the previous gen

Nuke-A-Nizer

I wonder how fast the chain will snap on this one. I wonder what the engineers or executives who forced them to engineer a system where the car drives fully electric till insufficient charge and theeeen only fires up the engine (with zero oil pressure beforehand) while you re e.g. blasting down the highway. Truly a masterpiece

Denaris21

This thing will be a nightmare to own out of warranty.

Dyep1

Is it just me or do most of the new taillights look like audi, so plain i hate them

Aggressive-Hair9462

Yep Audi must have finished the back bit.

Khoi503

Thought this was a Camry lmao

Chiken_nuget_584

Lol me too

Kaizhuu

I love my c300e so this would be next level. But tbh this should be new c43 and c63 should have v6 hybrid since they can't fit v8.

Long-Ad7490

It seems an Alfa Romeo Giulia :/

King_of_a_Rat_Tribe

I have one and I love it. I am prepared to be crucified on this hill.

unpolire

Looks like an Infiniti from this view...

ghostisic23

Looks like shit IMO and the 4cyl is the cherry on top of the turd cake.
