I highly doubt you will own the car long enough to destroy the leather on the seat with jeans unless you plan on keeping it for 10+ years. If you own a Mercedes by 20 I guarantee you will trade it for another in 4 years give of take. I personally went through cars like crazy in my 20ās.

Test it on your car, I have the same key and on my Mercedes you have to hold that button for at least 2 seconds to open the trunk.
