I know this is an old thread but I just started playing and came looking for this info. Thanks for the tip and here's another one: when you switch the ammo, you can tell which one you're using by looking at the cartridge on the side of the Tikhar, if it has a glowing orange light then it's incendiary.
If `R1 Square` doesn't work, an alternate method is to [fire all your regular ammo, then pick up another copy of the same weapon](https://www.reddit.com/r/metro_exodus/comments/reugng/alternate_method_to_switch_to_incendiary_ammo/).
That works with the crossbow and Sammy, but I'm not sure if there are any other Tikhar's lying around to pick up.
